I denna studie undersöks det ifall karaktärer med psykopatiskt beteende uppfattas mindre skrämmande och mer lättsamt i animerad form än i icke-animerad form. En litteraturstudie har genomförts som till stor del fokuserar på psykopater i film och de extrema personligheter och beteende som är frekventa i animerade verk. Två klipp har skapats utifrån två icke-animerade referensklipp innehållandes psykopatiska karaktärer spelade av skådespelare med identisk handling, karaktärsbeteende och miljö fast i animerad form. Dessa animerade klipp utvärderas genom strukturerade kvalitativa intervjuer med en fokusgrupp inriktad på föräldrar med barn som är 7-9 år gamla. Undersökningen visar att de animerade karaktärerna upplevs som mindre skrämmande och mer lättsamma än sina icke-animerade motsvarigheter..

Local differentiation may occur during a short period of time and is part of the formation of new species. The isopod Asellus aquaticus is an example of a species in which local adaptation has occurred during a short period of time. An establishment of stonewort (Chara spp.) vegetation in Lake Tåkern (in the 2000) resulted in two different Asellus ecotypes; a lighter pigmented, smaller one that lives among stoneworts grazing periphytic algae, and a darker, larger ecotype that feeds on decaying leaves in reed (Phragmites australis vegetation. The purpose of this study was to examine whether there are differences in growth between ecotypes, depending on whether the food was periphytic algae or leaves, and to study the choice of substrates between the two food types. For the study, animals from both habitats were brought in from Lake Tåkern to the laboratory.

I uppsatsen har jag undersökt hur muslimer presenteras i tv-serien Andra Avenyn där strategin utgörs av en diskursanalys. Denna grundar sig på Edward Saids antaganden i verket Orientalism samt Magnus Bergs teori om hur orientalen framställs inom populärkulturen, vilket han presenterar i Hudud: en essä om populärorientalismens bruksvärde och världsbild. Jag diskuterar endast de aspekter av populärkulturen som berör film då mitt undersökningsmaterial är en tv-serie. Genom studien av Andra Avenyn presenteras ett förslag till en påbyggnad av Bergs teori om orientalen. I analysen diskuterar jag mig fram till hur Andra Avenyn liknar samt skiljer sig ifrån de populärorientalistiska filmer Berg analyserat..

SammanfattningDen här rapporten beskriver arbetet att ta fram försöksmaterial i form av 3D-modeller med tillhörande animationer till det Internetbaserade rådgivningsverktyget för läkemedelsprodukter AssistansPlus*. Utöver detta ger rapporten en inblick i hur framtagning av 3D-medierat material för Internet, inom området rådgivning och presentation, kan se ut generellt.Viktigt att tänka på vid arbetet med modeller och animationer till AssistansPlus är att de måste anpassas till W3D formatet, som 3D spelaren i verktyget är utvecklad i. De viktigaste var här att veta vad som följde med vid en export till formatet W3D (animerandet måste ske på ett relativt analogt sett, vissa bildformat för texturerna fungerar bättre än andra etc.). Rapporten innehåller en checklista som ska fungera som en guide vid framtida framtagning av material till verktyget. Filstorlek är av stor vikt i arbete med 3D för Internet och var därför en viktig del också i uppdraget.Att begränsa filernas storlek genom att använda så få ytor som möjligt, genom att stiliseramodellerna och genom att göra texturer så bra som möjligt i förhållande till filstorleken, var viktiga delar arbetet.

This study highlights the stereotypical depictions of journalists in film using a narrative analysis of four major Hollywood productions, starting with All the President?s Men from 1976 through The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo from 2011. Its purpose is to highlight traits given to journalists in the movies and re-occuring themes in the portrayal of the media and the journalistic occupation. Differences and commonalities between the films are concluded in a discussion of ethics, personalities and the media?s self image.

This case study examines how a group of upper secondary school students in a multiethnical suburb of Stockholm reason about the theory of evolution. The theoretical background of the thesis is postcolonial and the questions raised were how spread the creationist thoughts are in the group; in what way the backgrounds of the students are relevant to their thoughts; how the students construct the notion of the theory of evolution; how they position themselves and others in relation to the discourse of the theory of evolution; if there are any differences between students at the collage program of natural science and the collage program of social science, and in that case, what differences; and who or what inspires the young in their thoughts about the theory of evolution. To answer these questions both a survey poll and interviews were used. The result of the case study showed that a majority of the students at the investigated school has creationist ideas and that the students profiled on social science have creationist ideas in a wider extent. Another result is that the religious background seems to be relevant to develop creationist thoughts, while the variables gender, home district and educational level did not differ the creationist group from the whole group.

In the latest edition of NRC (2007) the feeding recommendations for Ca and P to growing horses were increased with 35 and 25 %, respectively, based on results from a Canadian study showing that daily endogenous fecal losses of Ca and P were greater than previously suggested. A Ca absorption efficiency of 50 % is used for all horses. However, the true absorption efficiency might be as high as 70 % in young horses. P absorption efficiency is assumed to be higher for growing horses because their diets are often supplemented with inorganic P. Thus, an efficiency of 45 % is used for growing horses as compared to 35 % for mature horses.

This study is a thesis project for the program Civilingenjör och Lärare at KTH. The study was conducted in spring 2014 in collaboration with Komplementskolan AB which has developed the educational material Studi.se, the focal point of this study.The overall aim of the study is to increase the knowledge of the participant teachers? conception and use of the educational material Studi.se. The second purpose is to increase knowledge about the forms of use some of these teachers apply or claim to apply when using Studi.se. Theoretical framework used is constructivism and the notions of Piaget: adaptation, assimilation and accommodation.

It has since long been noticed that savior figures from different religions have reminded of each other, and there are different theories trying to explain why. This study examines religions operating in the same culture, and in this case, judaism and zoroastrianism, and their influence on each other. In particular, focus is on zoroastrianism's image of the savior figure Mithra, and how this representation may have influenced the description of the Messiah in the Talmud. How are the two figures represented in the scriptures and what similarities can be identified?By a thorough content analysis the studie examines the Avesta of zoroastrianism and the Talmud from judaism.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att jämföra boken The Hunger Games (2008) av Suzanne Collins med filmen The Hunger Games (2012) regisserad av Gary Ross och försöka ta reda på vilken sorts adaption som är gjord. Jag arbetar med boken och filmen The Hunger Games var för sig för att eventuella skillnader ska framträda tydligare vad gäller karaktärer och miljöbeskrivning. När jag gått in på djupet och jämfört boken The Hunger Games med filmen märker jag vad som är förändrat. Till exempel saknas vissa karaktärer och scener i boken i filmversionen, medan andra scener har lagts till i filmen. Samtidigt är det förståeligt att en del måste göras om och tas bort för att en bok på flera hundra sidor ska kunna visas i en film på cirka två timmar.

The first main purpose of this essay is to describe the situation of young women today here in this part of the world concerning influences from commercial media.The second purpose with this essay is to investigate if dance could be used as a tool against all these sterotyped and superficial pictures and ideals in the industy of commersial media.With some questions I also want to get closer to the answer if dancing is a way for young women to get insight knowledge. I also describe women from dance history who experienced that dance filled them up with energy but also environment where there was oppression.This essay has a gender perspective.The methods are manly based on literature studies but information is also gathered from the Internet and from one film.My results are that dance is a very constructive way to give the young woman that force which is needed when meeting media pictures everywhere. It gives her self-confidence, body awareness, joy and strength in life..

Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur några lärare och elever i årskurs 2 ser på tal- och skriftspråk som verktyg i lärandet. Jag har genomfört åtta elevintervjuer och två lärarintervjuer samt observationer under en skoldag i respektive klass. Undersökningen visar att lärarna ser på tal- och skriftspråket som ett viktigt verktyg i lärandet. De är medvetna om hur viktiga de språkliga kompetenserna är och arbetar aktivt med att utveckla elevernas språkliga förmågor. Elevernas syn på tal- och skriftspråkets betydelse i lärandet stämmer dock inte helt överens med lärarnas.

AbstractThis study deals with Swedish upper secondary school teachers' approaches to an expanded text concept. Attitudes mediated through media as well as ?the new languages? that media give rise to, imply new conditions for the activities in school. As a necessary adaptation to the new conditions given by the media forces, the Swedish upper secondary school 1994 incorporated ?an expanded text concept? in the syllabus for the Swedish language.The focus of the study is how Swedish upper secondary school teachers' work to meet and challenge the students' in an expanded text concept.

AbstractA beautiful death ? Manliness in four Japanese samurai moviesThis thesis deals with the samurai and his portrayal in Japanese historic movies and what kind of messages he conveys in form of masculinity to theater audiences. Four movies were chosen, two from the 1960s and two from the 2010s. The reasoning behind this was to look at two eras of samurai movies and if possible try to see differences between them. The history of the samurai, being a man and woman in modern Japan, R.W Connell and famous Japanese authors from different time eras acted as tools to try to answer the questions in hand.
