The aim of this master?s thesis is to examine how users at four public libraries experience the alternative shelf arrangement in their library. The purpose of introducing an alternative shelf arrangement in a public library is often to facilitate for its users. In each of our chosen libraries, the librarians have arranged the books in the non-Fiction section in broad themes, with the Swedish Library Association Classification System as subsections. Using qualitative interviews, we examined a total of 26 users? experience of the shelf arrangement and its accessibility, their methods for seeking information and their opinion about the presentation of the books.

This master thesis deals with questions concerning facts and Fiction in the world of Beatrix Potter's rabbits. The purpose is first and foremost to find the connections between the pet rabbits, that she used as art models, and the rabbits that came to life through her "tales".The method has been to gather facts through biographic reading, and to analyse Beatrix Potter's rabbit tales, using tools developed by Swedish picture book experts. The rabbit characters are thoroughly examined and so are the settings where the tales take place. Matters concerning Beatrix Potter's painting technique and illustration style as well as her literary and pictorial inspirations are dealt with.Conclusions are, that the fictive rabbit characters have indeed a lot to do with the fact that Beatrix Potter was interested in natural history and studied animal behaviour and anatomy in detail. For a long time rabbits, both wild and domesticated, were her favourite study objects which provided conditions for her rabbit fantasies.

The main purpose of this thesis is to discuss what exile writing is and who can be seen as an exile writer. If the word ?exile? is related to forced dislocation, like Paul Tabori and Sopia A. McClennen describes it, who can be viewed as an exile writer? Is Anders Olsson?s definition of an exile writer acceptable or not? Could the The Escape, a future story about exiled Northern Europeans in Myanmar, be classified as exile literature?Another purpose with this text is to describe how a story about exile can be made realistic and tangible to a reader who has not experienced exile.

Den här uppsatsen behandlar kommats användning vid satsgränser i två kontexter: mellan samordnade huvudsatser och vid adverbialbisatser i huvudsats. Syftet är att kartlägga bruket genom att registrera frekvensen av komma, brukets förhållande till ett antal relevanta variabler och till etablerade kommateringsregler. Detta har skett genom en kvantitativ analys omfattande sammanlagt 800 fall av nämnda kontexter. Materialet är hämtat från politiskt orienterade bloggar.Resultatet visar att komma använts mellan 61,75 % av huvudsatserna och vid 27,75 % av adverbialbisatserna. Dessutom har samband noterats mellan komma och faktorer som kon-junktion, förekomsten av gemensamma satsdelar, adverbialtyp, bisatsens position och längden hos olika textelement.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine how opinions and values are expressed in BTJ?s reviews of children?s literature. According to debates reviewed and interviewed librarians, many consider BTJ to be too directing when it comes to the libraries? purchases of books. Therefore I find it important to study how the reviews are written.

 This study examines the way Swedish students in Upper Secondary School respond to two excerpts from a classic Swedish novel. The paper?s aim is both to give an overview over some of the theoretical concepts concerning the field of reader-response criticism, and to describe and analyse what the students experience in their first meeting with an older text. The background to my interest is the many studies showing that young readers regard reading of Fiction in school as boring. By using the method of written reading responses I want to contribute to a deeper understanding of how an older text can be received, understood and engage its readers.

The purpose of this study was to examine whether youth novels contained informationconcerning our society. We reviewed youth literature and its history in brief, including itscommencement and development from separate boys' and girls' novels to a common youthnovel after the Second World War.To obtain a clearer picture and a better understanding of youths, we read non-Fiction, such asbooks, magazines and articles, concerning youth culture, its meaning and content. We decidedto review the period 1990-1994 more closely. We therefore set up selection criteria whichfinally resulted in 56 youth novels. We examined these novels to determine if and/or how theymatched the nine preselected areas that we felt were typical for the 1990's.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine how the gender system is described in fantasy novels. The theoretical framework is based on Yvonne Hirdman?s theory on gender system, primarily the two basic principles: the principle of dichotomy, of separation between the sexes, and the principle of hierarchy, of man as norm. The method used is idea analysis which is a form of textual analysis.

Syftet med det här arbetet är att utforska och undersöka om färg påverkar hur en miljö uppfattas. Miljön arbetet fokuserar på är placerad inom science Fictiongenren. I konceptteckning för spelproduktion tecknas eller målas koncepten ofta gråskala för att sedan testas i olika färgkombinationer. Samma process och samma tekniker används vid framställande av bilden som är i fokus för undersökningen. För att framställa bilden gjordes studier på existerande science Fictionkoncept och bilden arbetades fram via en iterativ process.Undersökningen genomfördes i form av en strukturerad intervju där tio studerande vid dataspelsutvecklingsprogrammet på Högskolan i Skövde medverkade.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how the blog as an arena is being used by youngpeople to discuss and reflect on reading and literature, and what purpose the blog as an arenahas for them in the forming of identity. The method used in this study is qualitative contentanalysis. Prior research is divided into two themes: young people?s reading, and young peoplein group constellations in and outside of the blogosphere. The theoretical framework is madeup of Louise M.

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to accomplish an understanding for how librarians purchase Fiction literature in public libraries. To answer these questions, we have performed four qualitative interviews with librarians in three Swedish municipalities. We have also performed a smaller document study to give us an overview of the used guidelines at the selected libraries. The results of our survey have been analyzed on the basis of our revised version of Sanna Talja?s model The Interpretative Repertoires of the Music Library.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to describe how Swedish public libraries use Web 2.0-tools and their experiences of using the tools. Focus of the study lies in the contact between public libraries and their patrons on the Web 2.0-tools. For the purposes of the study, the use of weblogs and MySpace were chosen for examination. The methodology used for this study was qualitative interviews.

This essay will treat questions regarding why we should read literature, more specifically Fiction, in schools. My issues regards how the curriculums of the swedish school subject legitimizes reading of literature, and my main focus is on the curriculums themselves. As a complement, I have completed three interviews with professional teachers to see how they legitimize reading for the pupils and for themselves. I have also discussed the potential democratic values of teaching and reading literature in schools, and I discuss my results in relation to the "values" of the swedish schools. My study is based on a study of the old curriculums, completed by Magnus Persson in 2007.
