Kvinnor utan klass? : en feministisk studie av kvinnor som klassresenärer

This essay is an in-depth, qualitative study concerned with questions about female ?class-travellers?. A class-traveller is a person who is born and raised in a particular social class but changes his/her social belonging through studies, marriage etc. In this study I have interviewed three female class-travellers, all of which have made their ?journey? through studies at the University of Lund.The study is an attempt to enrich the research-field of class-travelling by applying a Feminist perspective, and by making women's voices about class-travelling heard.

När mediebild blir till självbild : Feministernas förhållande till mediebilden av dem själva

Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur Feminister uppfattar, förhåller sig till och hanterar den mediala bilden av Feminister. Detta är relevant för att lyckas bryta de normer som uppstått kring Feminister och även för att se hur man själv som Feminist arbetar för att nå detta mål. Att undersöka detta leder till att den vetenskapliga forskningen kring den makt medierna har att påverka stora fenomen i samhället utvecklas, men det ger även förståelse hur detta uppfattas och hanteras av de som befinner sig inom ramen av vad fenomenet behandlar. Frågeställningen är: hur uppfattar, förhåller sig till och hanterar Feminister den mediala bilden av Feminister?Metod och material:  Denna studie har tillämpat kvalitativa intervjuer, i form av en fokusgrupp och två individuella intervjuer, för att kunna besvara forskningsfrågan.Huvudresultat : Feminister uppfattar en negativ bild av feminism i media.

Strategisk retoriker eller bara bitter och arg? : - en retorisk analys av krönikören Linda Skugge

AbstractAim: The aim of the study is to analyze ten different columns written by Linda Skugge, in order to see what kind of rhetorical means she uses to get her message across. It is also to examine if, and to what extent, these means are of female nature, and to see what kind of persona Skugge uses in order to be trustworthy.Method: Rhetorical analysis of ten columns written by Linda SkuggeMain results: The study has shown that Skugge´s rhetorical strategies differ from the ones recommended in theories about female speech. Skugge writes with a lot of character and emotionally based arguments, which, according to the theories, is more of a male way of speaking. Heterosexuell och feminist - en (o)möjlig ekvation. Om fyra heterosexuella feministiska kvinnors erfarenheter av sex

I denna uppsats utforskar jag hur heterosexuella Feministiska kvinnors sexuella praktik förhåller sig å ena sidan till den heterosexuella institutionen och å andra sidan till feminismen. I detta syfte har jag intervjuat fyra heterosexuella Feministiska kvinnor om deras erfarenheter av sex. Med den teoretiska utgångspunkten att det på ett övergripande plan råder en konflikt mellan feminismen som ideologi och heterosexualiteten som institution undersöker jag hur denna spänning tar sig uttryck i kvinnornas enskilda sexuella praktik.Jag stödjer mig på teoretiker som Stevi Jackson, Sandra Bartky och Michel Foucault.Jag kommer fram till att kvinnorna har ett ambivalent förhållningssätt till att vara både heterosexuell och Feminist. Konflikter uppstår i deras sexuella praktik och det sker ett kontinuerligt förhandlande mellan vad jag kallar heteropatriarkala och Feministiska imperativ, inom kvinnorna själva och i deras interaktion med omvärlden..

Sexuellt våld mot kvinnor i krig och konflikter : En analys av Bosnienkriget och Kongo

Sexual violence in armed conflict is not a new phenomenon. Although it has a long history, it's only in recent years from 1990 that is has been given more attention in science and media. I will in my thesis look at the conflicts of former Yugoslavia and Congo (DRC) and I will use two theories to investigate how the use of conflict-related sexual violence best can be explained. The two theoretical frameworks I have chosen are Feminist theory and Rational Choice theory. The conflicts will be at the center of analysis.

Att splittra en hierarki : Applicering av poststrukturalistisk feministisk teori på SAB-systemet

This paper analyses what effect an application of a specific poststructural Feminist theory has on the Swedish classification system SAB. The purpose is to study if it is possible to open up the current representation of gender towards a more multiple one. The study is both theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part include a short presentation of both classification theory and Feminist theory. The study also presents the critic that poststructual Feminists submit.

Läroböcker och genus : En kvalitativ studie av läroböckers beskrivning av genus i religionerna islam och hinduism

The purpose of this paper is to examine how gender in Islam and Hinduism are described in textbooks for high school. The study was conducted using a qualitative content analysis and also using a Feminist gender theory and postcolonial Feminist theory. All textbooks are written or revised after 2011 when The Swedish National Agency for Educations? new curriculum came into force. Previous research in this area shows that it is most common that gender is treated in isolated parts within the chapters, but that there are textbooks that allows the gender perspective permeate the entire text.

Studenters attityder till arbetsmarknad och lön

This essay examines whether Feminist theory can give a plausible answer to the question: does female and male students have different attitudes towards the labour market and towards wages? Further more, I examine if factors such as class and ethnicity affect student's attitudes. These questions are investigated through a quantitative study of students at four educations on two different universities in Sweden. Two of the educations have a high degree of female students, and the other two represent educations with at high degree of male students.The main conclusion is based on the quantitative research results. Female and male student's attitudes are similar in some cases.

"Lite udda och inte riktigt som andra" : en tematisk undersökning av hur utanförskap och identitetssökande som motiv skildras i Inger Edelfeldts romaner

The main purpose of this study is to analyse how the main themes of alienation and the search for identity is portrayed by Swedish author Inger Edelfeldt. I have applied the theories of Rita Felski concerning Feminist novels of self-discovery, in which the development of the female identity is the main question. As Edelfeldt?s writing consists of literature for the young as well as adults, I have included material from both of these genres. I have also taken use of Ulla Lundqvists theories about Swedish juvenile books when examining aspects of the main character?s feelings of alienation and identity searching.The results of my analysis show that the reading of my material as Feminist novels of self-discovery has revealed pervading charachteristics of alienation, love, friendship and psychological development.

The purpose of this paper is to make a Feminist textual analysis of three female protagonists incontemporary novels in order to demonstrate representations of ?skeva? female bodies, deviantfrom beauty-, slender and age norms. The analysis is based on an intersectional perspective whichdemonstrates the interaction between body, sex, gender, class, sexuality and age. The theoreticalmaterial used are class theories by Bourdieu and Skeggs, performative theories by Butler, theoriesof grotesque realism by Bachtin and the female grotesque by Russo and Lundberg. The charactersall belong to the genre of the female grotesque which manifests a Feminist protest and a free zonewithin patriarchal power structures.

This thesis is a study of Parties as an outflow of societal changes where the aim has been to find out how parties are affected by societal changes and how they justify to new party formation. This is done by using a theory called Parties as an outflow of societal changes which is a theory developed by Swedish researchers in Political Science. To confirm the theory it is necessary to do an argumentation analysis of one external developed party?s electoral program. In this case the party selected is Feminist Initiative which brings a different view on how the society of Sweden should look like.Selected parts of the argumentative analysis will be examined with the purpose to give a perspective on how Feminist Initiative values the changes in society and how they describe their role as a new party.The main question of this study is; Are new parties an outflow of societal changes? The basic arguments includes that along with societal changes in Western Europe also changes the view of a representative democracy in which political parties play a central role.

?Jag är ingen pojke, jag är en flicka!? : en studie om hur pedagoger beskriver könsnormer, könsnormkritiskt arbete och barn som bryter mot könsnormer

The subject of this study is gender norms in the preschool and children who oppose those norms. The aim is to investigate how the discourses are linked with the way in which preschool teachers and teaching assistants talk about children?s gender identity. This study is founded in Feminist post-structuralist discourse analysis, which was a basis for the interpretation of the results. My research questions are:? How do educators express themselves concerning gender norms?? What do educators need to work with a gender critical agenda?? How do the educators describe their work concerning gender, gender norms and children who oppose those norms?? For educators who have experience with children who do not identify with the gender they was given at birth, how do educators describe their own treatment of said children, and how would they describe the treatment from the other members of the teaching team?The study consists of qualitative interviews with five educators who were asked questions relevant to: norms, gender, gender criticism and how they work with those topics.I found both positive and negative aspects of gender work in preschool.

Har män ett kollektivt ansvar för den strukturella underordningen av kvinnor? ? Kollektivt moraliskt ansvar ur ett feministiskt perspektiv

The overarching aim of this essay is to analyze, from a Feminist point of view, the moral responsibility for the structural oppression of women. In this discussion I focus on the issue of moral responsibility for sexual violence against women, such as rapes. I claim that a Feminist theory of moral responsibility has to be based on a collectivist approach. I argue that men should be considered as collective moral responsible for the structural oppression of women. However, it is important that we analyze the interaction between actor and structure.

Prosamodernism, form och genusdebatt : En komparativ form- och receptionsstudie av Karin Boyes Astarte och Rosa Chacels Estación, ida y vuelta

The aim of this study is to compare the modernist novels Astarte (1931) by the Swedish writer Karin Boye with Estación, Ida y vuelta (1930) by the Spanish author Rosa Chacel and the reception of these literary works in contemporary academic research. The theoretical ground of the study consists of Feminist and critical theory, with traits of discourse analysis.Astarte and Estación were in large part forgotten and ignored by the Western Canon of literature during most of the 20th century, but have lately gained more attention as important modernist novels by researchers (from the Feminist, poststructuralist or hermeneutic theoretical fields) who primarily examine the experimental forms figured by the texts in relation to the deconstruction and shattering of human homogenous ?essence?.The results found in the study show that the literary forms of both novels can be associated with a kind of illusion rapture, which relate to the modernist inclination to what Frederic Jameson calls artificial narrative; a form technique that points back at itself to emphasize its own characteristic of being a constructed and subjective illustration of reality. The contemporary interest in these artificial literary forms expressed by Astarte and Estación is therefore probably a consequence of the vibrant academic debates carried out during later decades concerning the conception of human gender and identity as construction and performance. .
