Syftet med uppsatsen är att belysa lärares åsikter om religiösa konflikter/kulturkrockar i gymnasieskolan. Fokus ligger på konflikter i Sverige mellan kristendom och Islam, på grund av att det enligt migrationsverkets statistik nu anländer flest invandrare från det muslimska landet Irak. Elva stycken gymnasielärare deltog i en enkätundersökning angående deras attityder kring frågor som slöjans vara eller icke vara i skolan och hur man som lärare ska kunna följa Lpf 94 och samtidigt vara verksam i en skola för alla. Jag intervjuade även en lärare och samordnare på IVIK; Individuella programmets introduktionskurser för invandrare och bad om hennes tankar och åsikter, då detta är områden hon arbetar med dagligen. Sveriges integrations- och jämställdhetsminister Nyamko Sabuni har även hon svarat på frågor om slöjförbud i den svenska skolan.

The main purpose of this study is to analyse how the main themes of alienation and the search for identity is portrayed by Swedish author Inger Edelfeldt. I have applied the theories of Rita Felski concerning feminist novels of self-discovery, in which the development of the female identity is the main question. As Edelfeldt?s writing consists of literature for the young as well as adults, I have included material from both of these genres. I have also taken use of Ulla Lundqvists theories about Swedish juvenile books when examining aspects of the main character?s feelings of alienation and identity searching.The results of my analysis show that the reading of my material as feminist novels of self-discovery has revealed pervading charachteristics of alienation, love, friendship and psychological development.

15th of December 2005 was a historical day for the Iraqi people when they could vote for the first time in a free referendum for the draft of the new constitution. The result showed that 79% accepted it. The Iraqi constitution has been criticized by many for its Islamic ascendancy. By giving Islam the role as the source for legislation, will make the situation worse for the Iraqi women, so it has been said.My aim with this Master thesis is not to evaluate weather or not Islam as a religion will undermine women's roll in the society. My ambition is rather to examine the constitution in order to see which kind of theory of citizenship it is inspired from and how will it affect the situation of the Iraqi women.

The purpose of this paper is to make a feminist textual analysis of three female protagonists incontemporary novels in order to demonstrate representations of ?skeva? female bodies, deviantfrom beauty-, slender and age norms. The analysis is based on an intersectional perspective whichdemonstrates the interaction between body, sex, gender, class, sexuality and age. The theoreticalmaterial used are class theories by Bourdieu and Skeggs, performative theories by Butler, theoriesof grotesque realism by Bachtin and the female grotesque by Russo and Lundberg. The charactersall belong to the genre of the female grotesque which manifests a feminist protest and a free zonewithin patriarchal power structures.

Kunskapens makt är stor, men när den används fel blir den förödande. Rådande diskurser producerar kunskap om muslimer där muslimska män framställs som våldsbenägna och där muslimska kvinnor ofta blir en symbol för förtryck. Dessa stereotypa bilder bidrar sedan till att muslimer blir utsatta för intolerans, kränkningar och diskriminering i Sverige. Denna studie fokuserar på unga muslimska kvinnors religiösa identitet för att nyansera de stigmatiserade bilderna som finns om muslimska kvinnor. Genom en kvalitativ undersökning med intervju som teknik, lyfter studien fram religion från ett individperspektiv samt hur religiösa individer upplever sin religiositet i förhållande till ett samhälle där sekularisering är en stark norm.

Denna uppsats handlar muslimskt konvertering bland unga vuxna i Sverige. Syftet är att undersöka vilka påverkansfaktorer som ligger bakom förekomsten av denna typ av konvertering. Genom att intervjua fyra konvertiter undersöks olika upplevelser, tankar och händelser i deras liv som kan ha bidragit till deras konvertering. Dessutom undersöks tillgången till information som en av de främsta förutsättningarna till att tidigare sekulära personer som rört sig i icke-religiösa miljöer genomgår en sådan omfattande livsstilsförändring som konvertering innebär. Denna information kan i många fall härledas till islamistiska organisationer och rörelser som medvetet riktar sig till yngre personer som lever i icke-muslimska länder.

This thesis is a study of Parties as an outflow of societal changes where the aim has been to find out how parties are affected by societal changes and how they justify to new party formation. This is done by using a theory called Parties as an outflow of societal changes which is a theory developed by Swedish researchers in Political Science. To confirm the theory it is necessary to do an argumentation analysis of one external developed party?s electoral program. In this case the party selected is Feminist Initiative which brings a different view on how the society of Sweden should look like.Selected parts of the argumentative analysis will be examined with the purpose to give a perspective on how Feminist Initiative values the changes in society and how they describe their role as a new party.The main question of this study is; Are new parties an outflow of societal changes? The basic arguments includes that along with societal changes in Western Europe also changes the view of a representative democracy in which political parties play a central role.

The subject of this study is gender norms in the preschool and children who oppose those norms. The aim is to investigate how the discourses are linked with the way in which preschool teachers and teaching assistants talk about children?s gender identity. This study is founded in feminist post-structuralist discourse analysis, which was a basis for the interpretation of the results. My research questions are:? How do educators express themselves concerning gender norms?? What do educators need to work with a gender critical agenda?? How do the educators describe their work concerning gender, gender norms and children who oppose those norms?? For educators who have experience with children who do not identify with the gender they was given at birth, how do educators describe their own treatment of said children, and how would they describe the treatment from the other members of the teaching team?The study consists of qualitative interviews with five educators who were asked questions relevant to: norms, gender, gender criticism and how they work with those topics.I found both positive and negative aspects of gender work in preschool.

The aim of this paper is to perform a comparative study between France and Sweden analyzing the veil debate that took place in 2003 and 2004. This debate has been one of the central features of the renewed conflict between the West and Islam post 9/11, and has the presumed oppression of the Muslim veil in focus. With help of critical theory and a differentiated citizenship theory, including gender and post-colonial perspectives, I analyse the veil in a Western context in the arguments presented and the actions taken. Through that I try to distinguish the potential problems posed for the Muslim minorities living in the two countries.Three main areas are covered: the different political actions in the two countries, the consequences for this sidestep in liberal citizenship theory and in what way the view on equality splits the two parties. I conclude: that the French secularism and the Swedish equality have played key roles; the ideal of liberal citizenship is being abandoned for a more partial state; and the view of the veil as simply oppressive is part of a colonial heritage that can be challenged..

SammanfattningSkolan kan sägas ha två primära och med varandra sammankopplade uppgifter: att förmedla kunskaper och att förmedla grundläggande demokratiska värden. Att vårt samhälle har förändrats genom sekularisering och ökad pluralism gör att skolans uppgift att skapa förståelse, tolerans och inlevelse för andra människor har blivit allt mer angelägen. En viktig fråga är om läroböckerna i religionskunskap är anpassade för den relativt nya situation som råder i skolan, med mångkulturella och mångreligiösa klassrum.Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka i vilken mån två läroböcker i religionskunskap kan sägas uppfylla läroplanens direktiv om att undervisningen ?skall främja förståelse för andra människor och förmåga till inlevelse? (Lpf 94, s 3).

Syftet med den här studien är att göra en fördjupad undersökning om lärares uppfattningar och förhållningssätt inom skolan beträffande mötet mellan begreppen skolplikt och religionsfrihet i relation till islam. I förhållande till detta vill vi undersöka exemplet slöjan, samt lärarnas uppfattning om vem som bär ansvaret för att skolplikt och religionsfrihet infrias i verksamheten. I studien använder vi oss av en kvalitativ forskningsmetod. I undersökningen gör vi intervjuer med elva lärare, verksamma på fyra kommunala högstadieskolor i en och samma kommun. Studiens resultat visar att lärarna till största del uppfattar att skolplikt, religionsfrihet och islam går att förena utan stridigheter inom skolan.

The overarching aim of this essay is to analyze, from a feminist point of view, the moral responsibility for the structural oppression of women. In this discussion I focus on the issue of moral responsibility for sexual violence against women, such as rapes. I claim that a feminist theory of moral responsibility has to be based on a collectivist approach. I argue that men should be considered as collective moral responsible for the structural oppression of women. However, it is important that we analyze the interaction between actor and structure.

The aim of this study is to compare the modernist novels Astarte (1931) by the Swedish writer Karin Boye with Estación, Ida y vuelta (1930) by the Spanish author Rosa Chacel and the reception of these literary works in contemporary academic research. The theoretical ground of the study consists of feminist and critical theory, with traits of discourse analysis.Astarte and Estación were in large part forgotten and ignored by the Western Canon of literature during most of the 20th century, but have lately gained more attention as important modernist novels by researchers (from the feminist, poststructuralist or hermeneutic theoretical fields) who primarily examine the experimental forms figured by the texts in relation to the deconstruction and shattering of human homogenous ?essence?.The results found in the study show that the literary forms of both novels can be associated with a kind of illusion rapture, which relate to the modernist inclination to what Frederic Jameson calls artificial narrative; a form technique that points back at itself to emphasize its own characteristic of being a constructed and subjective illustration of reality. The contemporary interest in these artificial literary forms expressed by Astarte and Estación is therefore probably a consequence of the vibrant academic debates carried out during later decades concerning the conception of human gender and identity as construction and performance. .
