En av sjuksköterskans uppgifter efter en patients död är att finnas som stöd för patientens närstående. Sjuksköterskan ska hjälpa dem att bearbeta sorgen och bidra till en känsla av meningsfullhet. Detta kan vara en krävande arbetsuppgift och det är en utmaning för sjuksköterskan att inte involvera sig allt för mycket känslomässigt. Syftet med denna uppsats var att ta reda på hur sjuksköterskan hanterar sorgen som kan kännas efter en patients död. Metoden som användes för att uppnå syftet var en litteraturöversikt med avsikt att få en överblick över forskningsområdet.

Background: Abortion implies that the pregnancy is interrupted. According to the World Health Organization approximately 46 million induced abortions are carried out each year. Different methods of abortion can be used such as medical and surgical methods. The medical method especially affects a nurse?s experience of the procedure.

När döden inträffar plötsligt, har efterlevande inte fått någon chans till mental förberedelse inför dödsfallet. Efterlevande löper därmed stor risk att drabbas av komplicerade sorgereaktioner, med psykisk och fysisk ohälsa som följd. Denna grupp möts inte i tillräckligt stor utsträckning av strukturerad evidensbaserad omvårdnad, i proportion till efterlevande vid väntade dödsfall. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa närståendes behov vid plötslig död samt att understryka relevanta omvårdnadsåtgärder i akuta skeden. Litteraturstudien är baserad på 13 vetenskapliga artiklar som på olika sätt behandlar närståendes behov vid plötslig död.

Bakgrund. Plötslig spädbarnsdöd definieras som när ett barn under ett år plötsligt och oförklarligt dör utan att dödsorsak går att fastställa. Det är den största dödsorsaken bland barn mellan en månad och ett år i utvecklade länder. Sjuksköterskan bör vara välinformerad om vetenskaplig forskning inom ämnet, och arbeta aktivt för att föra denna kunskap vidare till föräldrar.Syfte. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att belysa sjuksköterskans roll och föräldrars följsamhet gällande information om plötslig spädbarnsdöd.Metod.

In the western world, strokes are the third most common cause of death, hitting mainly the elderly population. Smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes and overweight are known risk factors for causing strokes. Previous studies show that an increased level of particulate matter, PM, is also related to an increased number of strokes. The population in this study consists of patients over 65 years old who live in Malmö. Levels of particulate matter were measured from October 2004 to April 2005 at a central outdoor monitoring site in Malmö.

This essay describes my work as a director in a specialized orientation within psychodrama, surrealistic psychodrama. Using the language and performance techniques of theater and under the guidance of a director, psychodrama creates an improvised narrative or story. The essay describes several dramas I have directed, reflecting on my actions and choices as a director and group leader. I examine whether my working method has allowed me to be spontaneous and creative, which I believe the example of "The dangerous bear" demonstrates. The process enabled me to establish trust and receptivity so that a newly constituted group dared to investigate conflicts in symbolic ways associated with illness and death.

It is common knowledge that our horses do occasionally hurt themselves and cause damage to their bodies. They also manage to do it in the most remarkable ways. The problem is not that they hurt themselves, because everybody does so from time to time. The problem is that they often experience difficulties with the healing of the wounds. The cause to that problem is the fact that they often lose a vast amount of tissue, the wound is more often than not extensively contaminated and the wound is often found a long time after the accident occurred.

Allt fler människor i samhället dör på sjukhus. Detta gör att sjuksköterskan får ett större ansvarsområde i sin yrkesfunktion i relation till patientens döendeprocess. När patienten kommer till insikt om att livet är på väg att ta slut aktiveras en av de mest grundläggande försvarsmekanismer som människan har, ångest. För att sjuksköterskan skall kunna stödja patienten i upplevelsen av oro och ångest i döendeprocessen är det av betydelse att öka kunskapen inom omvårdnadsvetenskapen. Därför var syftet med denna litteraturstudie att beskriva patienters upplevelse av oro och ångest i döendeprocessen.

Light has always fascinated humans but ever since the invention of the first light bulb, the use of artificial lighting has accelerated dramatically. Darkness has never been as rare as today and the overuse of lighting has created a new phenomenon called light pollution. Most living beings are biologically dependent on the recurrent twenty-four-hour rhythm of light and darkness, called the circadian cycle. Human beings are evolutionary developed after this circadian rhythm and the effects of constant artificial light is yet unknown. Scientists fear the consequences of constant lighting and what it means physically, mentally and philosophically for the human species.

The following study is a discourse analysis of the concept of critical thinking within pre-school teacher education. It considers the following questions: how does the concept of critical thinking appear in policy documents, central to the pre-school teacher education, and which possible conceptions of critical thinking are conveyed by students and teachers active within the education. Additionally, the study seeks to discuss, as well as suggest a possible relation, between the findings of those two questions. In reviewing the material (consisting of five semi-structured interviews with students and teachers, and of a selection of policy documents central to the education), I argue the existence of a sort of project within the education, which presents critical thinking as a higher value. At the same time, I argue that the concept is not defined or concretized. This project, however, as I suggest while drawing upon Foucault?s ideas of discourse and government, involves a rather high degree of control.

?Life on a delicate thread?Baptism and godparenting in Bottnaryd and Ulricehamn 1781-1783The aim of this study is to discover if there were differences between the baptism traditions maintained in a typical rural parish and in an urban town parish in the period 1781-1783 and to suggest possible reasons for any differences found. Baptism records from rural Bottnaryd parish and the town of Ulricehamn were studied and compared. In both communities, parents were anxious to have their child christened on the day of birth or the day after. They did not want to wait until the following Sunday, as church law prescribed. Infant mortality was high and if the child died before it was christened, it would not go to heaven.

Jönköping Small Animal Hospital is today the only clinic in Sweden to offer radiation therapy as a treatment of tumours. The body contains of billions of cells that all have to obey the regulations that are established. If a cell is exposed to a harmful substance, for example a chemical, it can be transformed into a tumourcell. Normally the body has a good defence but the tumourcell can survive and start to divide unrestrained. A tumour is starting to develop.

Incompatibility between donors and recipients can cause fatal hemolytic transfusion reactions (HTR), kidney damage and death and immunization of the recipient. Antigens on the surface of erythrocytes in the ABO blood group system and regular natural antibodies against these in the patient?s plasma must be considered. An individual always has a corresponding antibody of IgM in their plasma. Irregular antibodies acquired by transfusion or pregnancy and active in body temperature also cause the HTR incompatibility.

Relationship between social behaviour, feeding behaviour and performance of boars using single-space feeders A study on the behavioural patterns of growing boars is presented. The study was preformed at Quality Genetics? boar testing station Månseryd in Sweden. The boars were purebred Yorkshire, Hampshire or Landrace, born in nine different nucleus farms. The study is based on two batches of boars, with 63 and 69 boars respectively.

Bakgrund: Sjuksköterskestudenten och sjuksköterskan möter människor i kris eller oro, människor som får allvariga besked om till exempel HIV/Aids. Dessa möten kräver flexibilitet, förmåga till empati och kommunikation av sjuksköterskan. Omvårdnaden innefattar de fysiska, psykiska, kulturella, andliga och sociala behoven hos patienten. Genom att tillgodose dessa behov arbetar sjuksköterskor för att ge bästa tänkbara livskvalitet. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva sjuksköterskors och sjuksköterskestudenters upplevelser och attityder vid mötet och i omvårdnad av patienter med HIV/Aids.
