The thesis aims to compare differentpiping materials in heating systems interms of cost as well as to illustratethe impact of energy characteristics ofdifferent materials over its servicelife. The methods used for costcalculations regarding piping are alsoto be examined to highlight thedifferences between template basedcalculations and more carefully executedones. The work is delimited to discusspipes of steel, copper, plastics andcomposites. The aim is that the resultcan be compiled to illustrate the prosand cons of various materials whenevaluating investments.The main object of the survey is part ofa heating system in the office-block KVSommaren located in southern Stockholm.The configured piping system is designedwith the mentioned piping materials andis used to make up the data for flow andcost calculations. The differentmaterials are calculated in both aconventional manner with a supplementarycost for additional fittings and with amore accurate quantification of thecomponents.

Hemp is an old agricultural plant and has been used for hundreds of years for making textiles, ropes and other fibre products. In the middle of the last century the Swedish government prohibited all growing of hemp. Natural fibres were replaced by syntetic fibres instead. Today there is a newly awakened interest for using natural fibres from renewable materials. Growing of industrial hemp for fiber is allowed in Sweden again. I want in my Paper give Swedish growers an insight of which harvesting methods that have been tried in Sweden and how they worked.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att med hjälp av en binär modell klargöra vad det är som styr att en del svenskar väljer att köpa grön energi, genom att ta reda på vilka faktorer som påverkar sannolikheten att en genomsnittlig individ väljer att köpa ?grön el?. Samt att se hur framtidens intresse är för grön el. Ett delsyfte med uppsatsen är att göra en jämförelse mellan Sundquists doktorsavhandling från 2002 och Temo ABs undersökning från 1998 för att se om kunskapen och attityderna kring grön el har förändrats. Temos studie var en klartläggning av svenskarnas kunskaper om beteende och attityder kring grön el, studien gjordes för Sveriges elleverantörer.

Precer Group har en patenterad teknologi för förbränning av fasta bränslen, till exempel pellets eller metallbränslen. Tekniken är användbar till bland annat fordon och nu är deras vision är att skapa en ny typ av miljövänligt och bränslesnålt fordon som drivs av fast bränsle. Det kommer att vara ett lättviktsfordon med seriehybriddrivlina. Drivlinan till fordonet kommer att bestå av Precers förbränningsenhet, en värmemotor, generator, batteri, motor controller och en eller flera elmotorer med tillhörande kraftelektronik.Vi har gjort en studie på vilka typer av elmotorer som kan användas för fordonsdrift och jämfört olika lösningar på vilka motorer och controllers som kan passa till fordonet Precer Group kommer att tillverka. Vi har också gjort en bedömning om det kan vara användbart med regenerativ bromsning i fordonet och på vilka sätt tekniken kan implementeras.Den generator vi anser lämpligast till värmemotorn är en borstlös DC-generator då den har hög toppverkningsgrad och en passande karaktäristik för att användas till värmemotorn.

Studien är gjord utifrån en kvalitativ metod med influenser ifrån grundad teori. Syftet med studien är att se vilka strategier personer med Aspergers syndrom använder för att hantera omgivningens sätt att se på dem som avvikare. Studien bygger på fem intervjuer med personer som har diagnosen Aspergers syndrom där de utifrån fem teman (familjeliv, skolsituation, arbetsliv, fritidsliv och främmande situationer) fick berätta om hur det ser ut i deras vardagsliv. Utifrån det fick jag sedan fram flera olika strategier som de använder för att motverka att omgivningen ser på dem som avvikare. Jag fick fram både unika och gemensamma strategier, vilket gör att jag fått fram många intressanta strategier.

The aim of this report was to investigate the economy of passive houses. The work was focused on economy in total and on the economy of different components such as windows, insulation, heat exchanger and the air tightness of the climate shell. No attention was paid on the comfort factor or to the impacts on the environment.Two houses, aspiring to be passive were chosen; A big one and a small one. Hence, comparisons considering the size of the building have been possible to do as well.The comparisons were made by calculating ?break even? between two concepts; passive and BBR- concept.

The cat has evolutionary become an obligate carnivore. Today it is common to feed the cat a dry food. Studies have shown that the dry formula can have negative consequences for the cat. A literature study where conducted to investigate whether the cats origin makes it incapable to compensate for the changes a dry food entails. The impact and implications regarding water intake, energy intake and blood glucose concentration when feeding the cat dry food where examined.

Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur förskollärare arbetar med att inkludera barn med autism i förskolan och hur de bidrar till social utveckling, och vilka verktyg som används. Studien baseras på kvalitativa intervjuer med sju förskollärare som arbetar på olika förskolor. Resultatet visar att förskollärarna ansåg att det var svårt att bygga upp ett socialt samspel mellan det autistiska barnet och de övriga barnen. Det uppkom inga leksekvenser mellan det autistiska barnet och de övriga barnen eftersom barn med autism har svårt med socialt samspel och att kommunicera. Det framkom att de vuxna har en betydelsefull roll för barn med autism, eftersom vuxna lättare förstår dem.

Bakgrund: Demenssjukdomar kan drabba vem som helst. Antalet insjuknade förväntas öka världen över inom 50 år. Då medicinska behandlingsmöjligheter är få anses god omvårdnad och förbättrat välbefinnande vara bästa behandlingen. Vårdhunden har blivit ett begrepp inom vården av människor med demens då tidigare forskning visat att vårdhunden på ett positivt sätt bidragit med fysiska och psykiska förbättringar samt ökat välbefinnande hos människor med demens.Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa hur vårdpersonalen upplever att en vårdhund påverkar välbefinnandet hos de boende på ett demensboende.Metod: Studien är en sammanställning av intervjuer med informanter utvalda med snöbollsmetoden. Genom att jämföra likheter och skillnader mellan intervjuerna utvecklades fem olika kategorier.Resultat: Resultatet visade att en vårdhund upplevdes frambringa mycket glädje och en förbättrad social samvaro för de boende på demensboendet.

With background in the rapidly growing need to find solutions for sustainable energy production and the increasing interest for wind power, this report was written. With take-off point from the wind power plant Big Glenn, which has been built in the harbour of Gothenburg, a model of the adjacent power grid has been created in Simulink/SimPowerSystems. Parameters for the power grid and its components has been provided by Göteborg Energi Nät, that has also been the supplier of measurement data of produced power, the power need from loads in the vicinity, voltage levels, current values and also the variation of power factor at the wind power plant.The SimPowerSystems model has been used to perform simulations of power flow in the grid. These simulated values have then been compared to the measured values to verify the functionality of the model. Further, the model has been used to perform simulations of a grid fault, which causes a voltage drop.

Gunsta is situated about 10 km east of Uppsala. Today there are plans to establish 1000 new households in Gunsta before year 2030. The required energy for heating houses and water would be distributed via a district heating system, which also includes 200 existing residences. The annual required energy, according to this study, would be 16.2 GWh with a maximal peak effect of 6.9 MW. To meet this need, the study suggests a system with heat pumps to upgrade the 31?C water from a 1.8 kilometre deep borehole.

AbstractDelta Terminal owns an outdated industrial building which they now rent out to businesses. This property currently has a high energy con-sumption and therfore it is desirable to improve the efficiency. In ordet to reduce the energy consumption within the industrial building enve-lope, the heating systems and lighting are being investegated. A good building envelope emits less heat and thus reduces the energy consump-tion. An energy audit is a tool used to determine the energy loss.

Marknaden ställer idag högre krav på vad företagen redovisar och intressenterna är inte längre bara uppmärksamma på hur företaget redovisar ur ett ekonomiskt perspektiv. En ökad medvetenhet hos företagen kan i många fall inbringa konkurrensfördelar om företagen väljer att tillgodose dessa krav. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) syftar till att redovisa vad företaget har gjort, inte bara i ekonomiska resultat utan även beträffande miljö och sociala aspekter. Vi har i vår studie valt att granska med hjälp av en innehållsanalys hur tre svenska företag, H&M, Stora Enso och TeliaSonera, arbetar med CSR och vart tyngdpunkten ligger hos de olika företagen. Studiens syfte är att på ett komparativt sätt och genom en innehållsanalys ämna svara på vilka likheter och skillnader det finns i de tre företagens hållbarhetsredovisningar, samt vad som kan tolka eventuella likheter och skillnader.

With the climate change issues growing in importance on the social agenda, the field of urban masterplanning is of no exception when it comes to minimizing the carbon footprint in a variety of projects. The aim of this thesis has been to prepare the Carbon Critical Masterplanning tool, a software plugin for carbon dioxide emissions assessment developed by Atkins, to be used in Swedish conditions. The main targets were to improve the areas of the tool associated with energy conversion and renewable energy sources, and to test the tool in a real case. A planned construction of a new campus in Albano, Stockholm was chosen for the pilot study. A 3D model was built in the tool and the carbon footprint was calculated for a variety of combinations for energy supply to the future area. The results show that use of locally installed renewable energy sources can reduce the total climate impact when life cycle perspective is applied.
