Abstract: Private equity used to be synonymous with tremendous yields and rates of return. However, the private equity market trembled in 2008, due to the financial meltdown caused by the worldwide credit crisis. Considering the current low number of exits within the private equity industry, the purpose of this thesis is to examine if there has been any change in how private equity firms control their portfolio companies since the inception of the crisis. One private equity company and two portfolio companies have been studied. The case study is prepared from interviews with senior directors in the portfolio company and investment managers in the private equity firm.

Denna rapport behandlar ett examensarbete som genomförts på Luleå kommun. Socialförvaltningen på Luleå kommun ansvarar för leverans av mat och varor till personer som behöver hjälp med detta. Socialförvaltningen behöver ett verktyg med GIS- och logistikfunktioner för att planera och följa upp transporterna. Idag finns ingen befintlig utvärderingsmall som kan användas för att jämföra olika programvarors funktionalitet. Det vore önskvärt att en sådan generell mall fanns tillgänglig för att anpassas till den aktuella verksamheten när behov uppstår.

I denna studie har insamling av referensdata över språkförståelse hos treåringar med typisk språkutveckling genomförts. Till detta har bedömningsmaterialet Sofialådan (Westerlund & Öfverholm-Engström, 1995) använts. Sofialådan bygger som flera andra språkförståelsematerial på den s.k. act-outmetoden där man låter barnet agera med föremål efter en given instruktion. Med hjälp av föremålen i Sofialådan bedöms barnets förmåga att identifiera grundfärger och storleksbegrepp, kategorisera, flytta föremålenligt olika prepositionsanvisningar samt att följa flerledade instruktioner.

In this paper I argue that the development of innovation ideas within the financial system of scientific research might have a counterpart within the financial system of the social sciences and the arts. The ideas of innovation share a common way to evaluate science in terms of how well it can contribute to economic growth. In the past two decades a similar development can be observed within Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (RJ), one of the largest external financiers of the social sciences and the arts in Sweden. The idea of evaluating research used by the innovation ideas has grown popular within RJ, only it seems they evaluate research in terms of how well it fits into an international research community rather than how much it can contribute to economic growth as is the case within the innovation ideas. By examining the different ways of financing research that RJ has used during the last 2 decades, this paper aims to introduce a new perspective in which it is possible to understand the development within this type research funding as a part of a bigger system of development..

Syftet med denna kvalitativa intervjustudie var att få förståelse för hur socialsekreterarnas handlingsutrymme och kunskap används vid placeringsöverväganden av barn och unga i samhällsvård. Med hjälp av våra frågeställningar ville vi få svar på, dels hur socialsekreterarna beskriver sitt handlingsutrymme vid placeringsöverväganden, dels hur socialsekreterarna förhåller sig till kunskap vid dessa bedömningar. Studiens intervjupersoner var socialsekreterare som har arbetat eller arbetar med att placera barn och unga. Utifrån det våra intervjupersoner har berättat är vår slutsats att socialsekreterarnas bedömningar påverkas av flera faktorer. Dessa faktorer var bland annat resursbrist, lagstiftning samt vägledning av arbetsledning.

Jag har valt att göra denna undersökning eftersom det fascinerar mig att undersöka varför det är så vanligt att man som kvinna köper och läser damtidningar. Samtidigt som man möts av en ganska ensidig bild av vad vi vill läsa, och hur vi skall leva lyckliga med hjälp av dessa damtidningar. Hur dessa tidningar skapar bilder och texter och visar upp en mall som vi tror att man blir lyckliga av att leva efter, och vad är det som påverkar oss så starkt att vi köper dessa tidningar. Man vet att det idag är mer jämställt inom manligt/kvinnligt men jag ifrågasätter om det är ett fenomen som även smittat av sig till medierna. Kvinnans roll i samhället ser idag annorlunda ut än vad den har gjort genom tiderna, men på vilket sätt visar det sig i damtidningar som har en stark kraft att påverka kvinnor.
