Föreliggande arbete är en tematisk studie av Existentialism i svenska noveller från 1990-talet. Syftet är att visa att Existentialismen fortfarande är en viktig inspirationskälla för dagens författare. Undersökningen baseras på de existentialistiska tankarna kring ?en tudelad tillvaro?, ?relationer till andra?, ?gudlöshet? och ?frihet? och hur dessa har uttryckts i noveller av Ninni Holmqvist, Hans Gunnarsson och Peter Törnqvist. Analyserna visar att en tät relation mellan filosofi och litteratur gör sig gällande hos dessa svenska novellförfattare..

This essay is a comparative analysis with focus on Jean-Paul Sartre´s Existentialism and Ferdinand Alquié´s cartesianism. They both represented the French philosophy of conscience in the early and mid 1900s. Because of that, they had similar ideas concerning the human conscience and freedom of the mind. But how did they come to those conclusions? And in which cases did they differ from one and other?.

The purpose of this essay is to discuss the base of sociology from an existentialistic perspective. The discussion takes it's position in the debate on the crisis of sociology, and aligns with Alvin Gouldner's understanding of the crisis. Gouldner believed that the crisis of sociology was mirrored in a sociological method that failed to describe the social reality that it meant to describe; a lack in self-criticism and self-reflexivity, a lack in self-containment in relation to state interests and a lack in moral engagement. This raises a number of questions, which I discuss in the essay. What is the role of sociology in our society? How shall we form a method that responds to the social reality that we sociologists aim to describe? How can we make sociology more moral?Existentialism offers a starting point to describe these questions.

Med utgångspunkt i de två generella riktningar som tidigare läsningar av Inger Edelfeldts romaner tagit ? dels en som antyder en existentiell underton och dels en som framhäver ett feministiskt perspektiv ? har syftet med arbetet varit att undersöka den konfliktfyllda relationen mellan Existentialism och feminism i ?Det hemliga namnet? och sammanlinka denna med Simone de Beauvoirs existentialistiska feminism i ?Det andra könet?. Då de två separata läsningarna av ?Det hemliga namnet?, som prövade romantextens överensstämmelse med de två ideologierna var för sig, korreleras med ?Det andra könet? framkommer att de två centrala punkter på vilka Edelfeldts roman skiljer sig ifrån den franska Existentialismen ? nämligen att människan inte till varje pris MÅSTE välja för att leva i god tro och att gemenskap visar sig möjlig då människor möts i generös ömsesidighet ? också gäller för Beauvoirs texter. Ideologikritiska läsningar av Beauvoir visar att dessa avsteg från Sartres filosofi är ett resultat av hennes kvinnobefriande strävan: en feminism som hävdar att det är kvinnans eget fel att hon inte kan förverkliga sig själv som subjekt och som cementerar henne som den evigt Andre i förhållande till mannen, kan nämligen inte verka emot ojämställdheten mellan könen.

De flesta människor som är självdestruktiva i vårt samhälle får en diagnos ställd som understryker att de på ett eller annat vis är psykiskt sjuka, den vanligaste diagnosen är Borderline Personlighetsstörning. I denna studie ifrågasätts detta psykopatologiska perspektiv och istället ämnar jag undersöka om det går att bredda begreppet självdestruktivitet genom att använda ett existentiellt perspektiv. I grunden för studien återfinns teorier från Kierkegaard, May och Fromm vilka berör begrepp som ångest och frihet, två nyckelbegrepp i denna studie. Materialet är insamlat via intervjuer. Genom att använda hermeneutik som analysmetod har uppsatsförfattaren haft möjlighet att använda sin förförståelse i ämnet och via den hermeneutiska cirkeln tolkas materialet.

The primary purpose of this essay is to study and describe what single adoptive mothers believe to be significant motives when considering adoption. This essay also describes how single adoptive mothers experience parenthood in relation to their expectations. The theoretical perspectives applied to analyse the empirical data are Existentialism, the identity making process, and social constructionism. The method of this study is qualitative based on seven interviews. The material has been analysed by condensed meaning units and themes with a phenomenological approach.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur den existentiella utsattheten gestaltas i Kristina Lugns diktsamlingar om jag inte och Bekantskap önskas med äldre bildad herre. Lugns dramer Idlaflickorna och Nattorienterarna undersöks också kortfattat i ljuset av lyriken. I avsnittet före analysdelen ges en kort förklaring till den tradition som fört fram ironin hos svenska kvinnliga lyriker, vilket bland annat innefattar fransk Existentialism och absurdism. De teman som framstått tydligast i om jag inte är moderskapet, ensamheten, döden och förhållandet mellan män och kvinnor. Analysen tar bland annat upp influenserna från Sonja Åkesson, barns utsatta situation och ensamma kvinnor i folkhemmets bakgård.

Central notions from Ks philosophy are explained and then the author points to examples of how this corresponds with the essence of the two movies.The argumentation is based on Ks thoughts on faith and human existence. Denna kvalitativa underso?kning handlar om elevers tankar och tolkningar utifrån läsningen av novellen ?Det osynliga barnet? av Tove Jansson. Denna aktionsforskning är genomförd som en del av vår egen undervisning på två skolor. Vi använder Existentialismen och utvecklingspsykologins teorier för att närma oss högstadieelevernas egna livsfrågor och tolka deras resonemang. Arbetet baseras på elevsamtal i form av fokusgrupper samt elevuppsatser, som ett sätt att få syn på elevers inre tankar.
