Affärs- och chefscoaching ? Framtidens företagsutveckling?

During later years coaching has gained popularity. Coaching offers help to learn rather than to teach and enables optimal performance. The method that builds consciousness, strengthens choices and leads to change in the wanted direction, can deduce to some of history's most successful educationalists. A coaching area steadily increasing is business- and Executive coaching. The overall purpose with this paper is to explain what coaching is generally speaking, with specific focus on business- and Executive coaching.

EUROPOL -en studie av det polisiära samverkansorganet Europol och dess betydelse för polisiär integration inom Europeiska Unionen

AbstractThe purpose of this thesis is to describe and analyse Europol. The research questions are:- How would increased powers for Europol impact on the cooperation between Europol and police authorities in EU-member states?- Which one of the two theories transactionalism and neofunctionalism can best create an understanding of Europol and its integration with the police of the member states?In so doing the study applies a qualitative method.Europol is the European Police Office and it was established through the Maastricht treaty in 1992 with the purpose of making the integration between police of the EU member states more efficient. In order for Europol to make integration between the police of member states more efficient it can be suggested that it needs for Europol to develop into having Executive powers.One conclusion of this study is that Europol is an important tool for integration in the EU but there are at least three issues that are influencing the level of effectiveness in the integration work between the police of the member states; possible mistrust, that Europol has no Executive powers and that it is voluntary for member states to participate in assisting Europol with information. Another conclusion is that Europol can be understood through an integration perspective when transactionalism and neofunctionalism are complementing each other..

Ledarskapsutbildning för kvinnliga chefer : En kvalitativ studie om ledarskapsutbildningsprogrammet Future Executive Women

Sammanfattning;Avsikten med detta examinationsarbete är undersöka om ledarskapsutbildningen Future Executive Women (FEW) med manligt mentorskap är en fungerande metod för att öka möjligheten för kvinnliga chefer inom det skånska näringslivet att avancera i karriären. För att få svar på våra frågeställningar, har vi genomfört en kvalitativ undersökning i form av intervjuer med sex av deltagare från utbildningen FEW. De teoriområdena som ligger till grund för examinationsuppgiften, är Kön och organisation, Ledarskap och Ledarskapsutveckling. I början av arbetet antog vi att denna typ av utbildning skulle ge deltagarna någon form av konkreta verktyg för att bryta den mansdominans som råder inom det skånska näringslivet. Nu i efterhand har vi förstått att utbildningen i ett kort tidsperspektiv inte lyckades med det i någon större utsträckning.

Personer med utmattningssyndrom: : Finns det ett samband mellan subjektiv och objektiv kognition?

Research shows that people with burnout experience a high degree of impairments in a range of cognitive functions including memory, attention and concentration. The overall aim of the present study is to investigate whether there is a correlation between subjective estimates of cognition and cognitive performance with objective tests in people with burnout with a focus on working memory and Executive functions. Three specific questions were addressed; First, what cognitive problems are described and to what degree? Second, is the performance of Executive and working memory tests related to self-reported cognitive problems? Third, are the self-reported cognitive problems related to measures of psychological distress? The study included 77 patients, 65 women and 12 men, with a mean age of 43.48 years. The results show that patients with burnout perceive themselves as having significantly impaired cognition in everyday life, which is clearly evident on the basis of the self-assessment forms PRMQ and CFQ.

Bakgrundskontroller i svenskt näringsliv - En studie av kontrollförfarandet vid rekrytering till ledningsgrupper

Changes in the labour market combined with an increased media coverage of managers, have resulted in the rise of a new human due diligence industry. The use of background checks has lately become increasingly popular on the Swedish market and many companies use it as an evaluation tool when recruiting. This study investigates differences in the background screening procedure for recruitment to Executive management positions and lower level positions. It also aims to answer why background checks are conducted, using a cultural and a functional perspective. The report takes an abductive approach and data has primarily been gathered through a survey directed to large Swedish companies.

Taylor och Fayol i praktiken : Vilken kompetens efterfrågas vid chefsrekrytering?

Bakgrund: Karin Holmblad Brunsson, forskare på Uppsala Universitet, har genom sin forskning tolkat Frederick W. Taylor och Henri Fayols forskning inom management med den slutsatsen att det finns ett gap mellan teori och praktik. Med utgångspunkt i denna forskning vill vi utreda detta gap genom att undersöka vilken kompetens som efterfrågas vid chefsrekrytering i Sverige.Syfte: Syftet med denna undersökning är att, med hjälp av headhunters, utreda huruvida det är Taylor eller Fayol?s principer som dominerar i företagsledningen.Metod: Med en deduktiv ansats och strukturerade intervjufrågor har datainsamling skett genom intervjuer med headhunters. Dessa data ligger till grund i den tolkning och analys som avser att besvara syftet.TEORI: Kompetens, Headhunting/Executive Search, Taylorism, Fayolism.Slutsatser: Denna studie är avsedd att utreda om management är ett generellt yrke som går att tillämpa oavsett organisation och bransch eller om det är ett yrke som kräver anpassning efter specifika organisationer och branscher.

Indelningsändringar : en studie om varför Norra Sandsjö kommun, Bringetofta församling och Norra Sandsjö församling delades i samband med att Sävsjö kommunblock bildades

This paper is about a new organization how to get smaller communities to join together and become much larger. The purpose is to find out why Norra Sandsjö community and Bringetofta and Norra Sandsjö parishes were separated when Sävsjö municipality block was formed. The purpose is further to find out what the councils of Norra Sandsjö, Nässjö and Sävsjö, the church council and the people who lived in the area thought about the decision that was made by the Executive organization in this matter (länsstyrelsen in Jönköping). Voting was arranged amongst the people, who lived in the specific area that in the first inquiry was suggested to be connected with Nässjö municipality block. The source material gives the result of this voting and the opinions of Norra Sandsjö, Nässjö and Sävsjö communities in this question.

Integration mellan skog & förädlingsindustri : en intervjuundersökning

The aim of this master thesis is to study the integration in Sweden between forestry and bulky industries as fiber- and sawmilling companies. The analysis is based on theories about transaction cost economies and competitive strategy. The studied companies are active on the Swedish roundwood market. The buying actors on this market were divided into two groups; fiber- and sawmill industries. Three companies from each group were chosen subjectively by the author.

Bilden av ledaren - en tolkning av fotografier i årsredovisningar

The visual representation of management (board of directors, chief Executive officer and Executive management) in annual reports is an area of scholarship that has not been explored much. In the present study a sample of 87 annual reports from business enterprises within a Swedish context, comprising about 300 photographs, was analyzed using an explorative method of analysis based on semiotics and grounded theory. The influence of the context on images raises a question discussed in the study: Should the photographs in the annual report be categorized as portraits, advertisements and others or should the annual report be regarded as a genre of its own? The photographs showed patterns of homogeneity regarding gender, dress, gestures, colours, pictorial compositions et cetera. The position of the (male) CEO is privileged, but he is also connected to the group through various means like dress and style, thereby further underscoring management as a male enterprise and demonstrating the importance of the suit and necktie in creating homosocial bonds.

I det fall då reklamen är tydligt märkt, till exempel helsidesannonser där det inte finns något redaktionellt innehåll i anknytning, hade respondenterna inga svårigheter att urskilja det som reklam.

AbstractThe OMX Nordic Exchange Stockholm requires all large companies to apply the Swedish Code ofCorporate Governance. A revised code will be applied from July 2008. The purpose of this paper is toidentify the accessibility of information on corporate governance and in particular how the compliance,concerning the Swedish Code of Corporate Governance in the perspective of an internet active generalpublic.This paper is a complete census of the companies at the OMX Nordic Exchange Stockholm whocomplies with the code. Each company website has been visited and a comparison between the sectorsat the OMX Exchange Stockholm has been performed.Results: 96% of the companies present the members of the nomination committee. 94% presents thenomination committees proposal of the company board members, though only 33% of the companies inthe Energy sector.

Synen på arbetslösheten i Växjö stad under 1820-1860-talet

This study examines the view of the people, unemployed in the city of Växjö during the period from 1820 to 1860. The focuses are on the perspective in which these people where seen by the municipal Executive board in the city of Växjö. The result of this study shows that the rulers had a conservative wiev of them who were unemployed. Usually, the meaning was that their situation was only caused by their own laziness. Starting ?Workinghouse? was the best way solving the problem with them who were unemployed, was the common opinion in the view of the rulers..

Det etiska ledarskapets roll i kampen mot korruption - En studie om antikorruptionsarbete i den svenska banksektorn

Despite Sweden's ranking as one of the least corrupt countries in the world, recent studies suggest that the prevalence of corruption in the private sector is growing, now approaching international levels. Over the past couple of years, Sweden has witnessed a growing number of scandals involving unethical behavior on the part of its corporate sector. Corruption has gained the attention of authorities, legislators and the public - putting the private sector under pressure to take action to prevent such corporate misconduct. As a result, companies increasingly prioritize strategies and policies aiming to prevent corruption. This study aims to contribute to the understanding of the role of leadership in such preventive work.

Drömplanen blev en mardröm En studie om Framställningen av Norweigian och varuvärkesexponering i svensk media under Boeing 787:s kris

Executive summaryThe aim of this study is to examine how the favourability and brand exposure of Norwegian has been damage by their supplier, Boeing 787:s, problems concerning the aircraft Dreamliner. The theoretical framework underlies the content analysis that has been used to operate the study. In total the empirical data rise up to 623 articles that has been collected and analysed from the media archive Retriever. Compares to before and after Boeing 787:s problem with the Dreamliner, the results indicates that the favourability of Norwegian in the Swedish media landscape during the problems was negatively affected. The results also show that there was no increase in brand exposure for Norwergian during the problems.

Mekanisk sårrengöringsapparatur för vården : En studie i sköljningsoptimering

?Mechanical debridment ? A studie in irrigation optimization? is a final thesis which was executed by Fredrick Ekman, in close collaboration with the other group member Mikael Johansson, during the spring 2012. The thesis was carried out through Karlstad University Faculty of Technology and Science in the study program of Innovation and Design Engineering (180 ECTS credits). The client of the project was Medilink AB located in Lindesberg, and the contact person was Nils-Erik Söderström, Chief Executive Officer. The project was supervised by lecturer, Lennart Wihk, and examined by lecturer and professor Fredrik Thuvander at Karlstad University.
