This paper deals with archery in the Viking Age settlement of Birka and in particular the presence of Euro Asiatic, steppe nomadic archery equipment at the Birka Garrison and one Birka grave. The equipment contains for example closed quivers and a bow case. This paper also contains a discussion of archery battle techniques and tactics in Viking Age Birka and the implications of the above mentioned equipment to this discussion. Quadrotor UAVs are self-stabilizing, autonomous flying machines that has recently become more popular than ever. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles have their roots in the military, where they were developed for use in reconnaissance and combat. During the last few years, advances in the fields of electronic sensors, electric motors and microcontrollers have enabled smaller designs and autonomic flight control even for private use. The quadrotor, which is the particular kind of UAV we are looking closer at in this paper, has 4 rotors in an X-like formation. This configuration has many advantages such as good lift capacity, non-complex mechanical structure and serviceability.In this project we aquired a current overview of the domain and determine whether it is possible to construct a quadrotor UAV designed for use in a WISENET sensor network on a low budget and short time schedule.Based on existing community project AeroQuad, a quadrotor is constructed with a budget of about 500 euro.

Denna undersökning ämnar utreda huruvida euroinförandet år 2002 medfört ökad internhandel i EMU. Undersökningen analyserar handelsstatistik från år 1998- 2008 för de femton länderna som vid euroinförandet var medlemmar i EU. I analysen studeras två grupper av länder; en innehållande EMU- länder och en kontrollgrupp innehållande länder som inte infört euron. För att kontrollera för underliggande faktorer som exempelvis konjunkturella förändringar och preexisterande handelsskillnader genomförs två difference- in- difference analyser. Undersökningen finner inget statistisk signifikant resultat på en ökad internhandel i EMU efter euroinförandet.

Time has passed since the new standards regarding goodwill were introduced. Duringthe period that occurred pre the financial crisis several companies managed to creategreat goodwill assets on their balance sheet. These assets were highlighted during thefinancial crisis and the aim of this study is to evaluate analysts contemporaryconsideration of these assets. The study will be of interest due to the fact that we nowfind ourselves in-between periods, post financial crisis and pre euro crisis. Ourempirical study has been carried out by interviewing analysts covering IT-companiestraded on the Swedish stock exchange.Our analysts were chosen with consideration to the fact that they were coveringcompanies where acquisitions are common.

This paper studies the option market?s implied dividend as a predictor of future equity market returns. We introduce this variable in the simple total return framework and discuss some complications of using it as a proxy for the expected dividend. We construct some regressions using the price-dividend ratio and the implied dividend growth, and test them on six years worth of data on the EURO STOXX 50-index. The main result is that implied dividend growth exhibits some forecastability over two-year horizons, but that the dataset is too short to draw any definitive conclusions about long-horizon forecastability.

The aim of this thesis is to study the portrayal of Native Americans and its role through Albin Widén, a Swedish author, ethnologist and member of the Indian Club, and his non-fictional works on the Swedish migration to America, Swedish-America and Swedish contacts with Native Americans. The study is divided into four parts. The first part looks at the portrayal of the Native Americans in Widén?s writings, in comparison with Euro-Americans? and Europeans? traditional stereotypic images of a good and a bad Indian.

This paper concerns the flagging out of merchant navy vessels and its consequenses. Flaggingout is method used by ship owners in order to gain advantages. Under a different flag, thevessel's legal residence become the subject of another country´s laws. Toward the end of thefirst decade of the 20th century ferry -and passangervessels trading in the Baltic Sea wereflagged out from Åland to the flag of Sweden. Flagging out to Sweden is not common but thespecific circumstances for this trade has made the Swedish ship's register interesting for shipowners.

Detta examensarbete har genomförts på begäran av byggnadstekniska byrån i Uppsala. Företaget behöver en ny beräkningsmall med vindlastberäkning för väggar och olika taktyper enligt Eurokod.I dagsläget använder företaget en beräkningsmall som är baserad på gamla normer enligt BKR. Dessa normer kan dock inte användas längre enligt nya bestämmelser inom branschen. Enligt de nya bestämmelserna bör dessa vindlastberäkningar genomföras med hänsyn till Eurokod i framtiden.För att kunna beräkna vindlasten enligt Eurokod och effektivisera beräkningsgången har man utvecklat en beräkningsmall baserad på Eurokod. Alla nödvändiga parameterar enligt standarder har använts i beräkningsmallen och användaren tillåts genomföra en snabb och enkel inmatning av projektmått för att på ett automatiserat sätt genomföra belastningsanalysen.

Den ekonomiska och monetära unionen är tänkt att öppna den sista dörren, de olika valutorn, för en ännu smidigare handel inom EU. Sverige kommer att stå utanför unionen från start den 1 januari 1999, men de svenska företagen kommer ändå att påverkas av införandet av den gemensamma valutan euron. Syftet med vår uppsats är att se vilka redovisningsproblem som de svenska småföretagen kan koma att stöta på när euron införs i EU-länderna som går med i EMU från start. För att kunna besvara vårt syfte har vi gjort intervjuer med personer insatta i vårt problemområde. Utifrån svaren tillsammans med övrigt material så kom vi fram till att småföretagens redovisning kommer att påverkas i olika omfattning och på olika sätt beroende på typ av företag.

The aim of the thesis is to highlight external factors to explain why the EMU was created. The external factor considered here is the monetary policy of the United States, which often conflicted with European interests. The statistical data in the thesis, as well as previous research, show that even though the EU economically in many ways had become an equal partner of the US during the second half of the 20th century, the union still faced US influence and dependence.The results of the thesis can be explained with neorealist theories on power measured as an actor's distribution of capabilities and balancing of power. An actor that is equipped with the world's leading currency is more independent from others. Other actors, on the other hand, become increasingly dependent on the major currency and the policy of its owner.

I detta arbete undersöks med hjälp av en enkät hur mycket eleverna på Båstads Gymnasium kan om historiska sammanhang, om historiska fakta och hur elevernas inställning är gentemot utvalda värdegrunder. Undersökningen bygger på en enkät som jämförs med den Nationella Utvärderingen (NU03). Enkäten kommer fram till att eleverna i Båstad har grundläggande kunskaper inom historia och angående de värdegrunder som har undersöks lever eleverna över lag upp till dem. Typiskt för svaren från enkäten är dess oregelbundenhet. Det går endast i ett få antal fall att utläsa ett samband med yttre faktorer.
