Placed within the field of recent research concerning religion and contemporary religious landscapes, this thesis aims to show conceptions of human life and body displayed in ten Swedish health magazines. The analysis aims to demonstrate the appearance of body and bodily experience and in addition see in what way ?westernized? religious traditions and methods from east Asia may contribute to perspectives of health. The main theories for the study are objectified versus phenomenological understanding of the human body by Drew Leder (1992; 1990) and Kristen Zeiler (2010). The quote in the main title is from the empirical material (Hälsa & Fitness, 2014 (11), cover).
Framtagning av en rörväxlaretill sopsugsystem
The main goal of this project was to develop some sort of a diverter for pipestransporting waste in a vacuum system. This unit was supposed to be both cheap andeasy to serve/exchange worn out parts. With a limited space to install the pipeexchanger, the challenge was to keep it as compact as possible without constructingbends with to small radius or to sharp angles as this would wear out the system a lotfaster than planned. The system was also supposed to be able to handle clothes andscrubs from hospitals. Having too much sharp edges or angles would tear the clothesapart.
This paper is about transferring a feeling from a physical place to the Internet. The paper explores methods on how this transfer is done. Websites have a tendency to not portray the company behind
it in a correct way. For companies with a distinct Esthetic and work hard on their image and brand it
is important that this hard work is portrayed correctly in every aspect. The problems this paper explores are: the importance of personas in a design process, methods of transferring a feeling from
a physical place with design and how this can be tested, and using open-source content management
systems in creating usable websites.
This report describes a project, which was carried out as a final thesis covering 30 ECTS during the final semester of the Master of Science programme Industrial Design. The assignment was issued by Fagerhults Belysning AB in Habo. The assignment was to design a family of products in which LED was to be used as a source of light. The main focus in the initial part of the project was to find a way to design the inside of armature which was suitable for LED technology. An armature, already in the range of products at Fagerhult, with the desired qualities that was to be strived after was the Zintra. The lighting source of the Zintra is a compact fluorescent lamp.

The logistic business Svenska Retursystem AB was founded by the Swedish retail sector in
the year 2000, and their introduction of a grey plastic crate to the supply chain for perishable
goods changed the situation for the swedish horticultural sector. The new system revealed
several challenges to be tackled by all actors, from the small family firm to the bigger
organisations. Whereas the initiative comes from the customer himself, from the horticultural
sector ?s point of view, a refusal of the new packing is a hard decision to take. It is however
interesting that a comparison between the two systems, shows in favour of the corrugated
board boxes, not only concerning environmental aspects but also for economical and
ergonomical reasons.
Lysande rör, rörligt ideal : belysningsbranschens introducerande av lysröret i Sverige
During the 1930´s the hot potato for the Swedish lighting associations were how to create the most suitable light for every situation, either for industries, offices or homes. The light bulb were the most frequently used source of light but due to limitied luminous intensity, big halls sometimes required up to hundreds of light bulbs to produce the right amount of light. Two kinds of different lights, by different reasons, can be titled the predecessors of the fluorescent lighting during the 1930´s: The volfram-filament tube light due to its estetic similarities and the electric discharge (mercury- and sodium-) lamps due to its technical resemblance. Even though they came in quite wide use (the volfram tube in public halls (e. g.
Wetlands play an important role in the ecosystem. They reduce the impact of flow flux in the drainage area, acts as upholder of biodiversity, as an Esthetic and recreational component in the landscape and they have the ability to reduce nutrients such as nitrogen, and help preventing eutrophication in costal areas. The number of wetlands in Scania have, due to the intensified agriculture been reduced to maximize the area suitable for crops. However since the mid 80th the consequences of this has been acknowledged, and many wetlands have been restored. This master?s thesis aim to see what impact this development have had on wetlands in Scania over the last 60 years. And also look at some of those factors important for the efficiency of nitrogen removal in wetlands. During the process a detailed manual for inventories of this sort was created. The material used to execute the inventory of wetlands where aerial photographs over Scania from the 1940th, 1980th and 2000.
Folkligt deltagande & regional utveckling
The residential yard at Kvarteret Landsfiskalen 1, in the area Herrgården in Rosengård, Malmö was built in 1971 and has since then been reconstructed twice, in 1984 and 2008. The yard is found in an area which was built during the years 1965 ? 1974, a period in which the swedish goverment approved a decision to build one million homes, and much of the events in this particular yard is also typical for the process in many other areas built during the same period. At the original construction the design of the yard was entirely incused by the pressure in time and finance, one was under at that time, in order to over- come the housing shortage. The design it has nevertheless been given, reflects the Esthetic ideals of that time well. The building of the area was barely finished when the swedish authori- ties started handing out grants in order to support the rearmament of the outdoor environment in the areas built during the so called ?million program?.

Abandoned and unused railway structures often possess
great potential if they are reclaimed and reused for new
purposes. The thesis focuses on the global trend of
restoring and revitalizing these areas, converting them
into park areas, rail trails and green corridors in the city
landscape, while preserving their ecological, social, Esthetic and historic values.
These rail areas were often abandoned when industries
moved out from the cities, either to industrial areas or
abroad. The use of railways for transporting industrial
goods was also replaced to a large extent my motorized
road vehicles in the mid 20th century, leaving the rails
under-utilized. Because of their location and intrinsic
values, they can be reused for important functions, such
as green areas in the city environment, providing space for
recreational activities and exercise and social meetings and
interactions.
I have closely investigated the three park areas High Line in New York, Promenade Plantée in Paris and Schöneberger
Südgelände in Berlin, which have all gone through this
transformation in recent years. I have summarized my
conclusions in three key concepts to consider: design for
social values, preserve the architectural history, and leave
room for future evolution.
The final part of my work is a design program for an
abandoned railways area in Stockholm: Eriksdal railway
area.
The purpose of this of this essay is to explore the construction of a conservatory that is livable allyear around. When you build a conservatory there are several factors that need to be regardedthat usually are of no importance when you build a regular conservatory. The glassed facadeneeds to have a very good U-value and all the parts of the facade need to be isolated and theconstruction needs to prevent thermal bridges. In this essay we will start by looking at the shape of the conservatory. Due to the façade consistsof glass the conservatory will need to have a good ratio between the area and the façade so thatthe heat losses will be at a minimum. However, due to the fact that one of the sides of the façadeis connected to the warm house, you quickly realize that the shape of the conservatory is of noimportance. There are two common ways to build a foundation for a conservatory, a molded concretefoundation and isolated wooden beams.
Undervegetation : användning av vedartade marktäckare i anläggning
The use of the robust and durable woody ground covers is increasing, not in the least in public places. The group includes low shrubs of different height that effectively build low, tight vegetation that covers the ground. Despite all the good qualities the knowledge about them is quite low and there are ideas about them of being dull.
The woody ground covers manage to struggle against weeds effectively by competing for nourishment and water, but above all, by the canopy of the ground covers that prevent the weeds from getting enough light. In that way the woody groundcovers can effectively compete with the annual weeds.
