This bachelor thesis is a study of the European Union as a role model in the world. Its main focus is to answer the question ?In what respects did the European Union (EU) work as a model at the establishment of the African Union (AU) and the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR)?? By doing so it hopes to shed some light on how other unions in the world contemplate the EU. The method is partly theoretical and partly empirical. In the theoretical part, the thesis discusses in what respects the African Union and the Union of South American Nations might and might not be similar to the European Union.

This Master?s thesis investigates user education at high school libraries. The aim of this study is to examine user education and the educational approach that librarian?s experience in their teaching. The method used for the study is qualitative interviews with seven high school librarians.

This essay investigates the integration of the school library into teaching in one of Sweden?s senior high schools and the effects of the new education act which gives school libraries a stronger standing. A second purpose is to investigate teachers? views on professional responsibility with regard to the development of information literacy. Through an email survey different aspects of library integration are investigated.

Through theories of new institutionalism, with conceptions as organizational identity and the expectations of adapting to new ideas, can you track the translation and adaptation that the ideas go through at the university- a decentralised organization where not only freedom has been a concept for the academic parts, but also for the administration.

Recent studies have reemphasized the importance of competition in democracy. An ideaoriginating from Weber: that demoeratic competition leads to more qualified leaders, has been resurrected. Research shows that democracies are more Iikely to elect leaders with a high leve l of education, and with in demoeratic states stronger competition correlates with elected politicians with higher education, more political experience and higher previous income. This study researehes whether the earrelation between greater competition and electedcandirlates with higher "Curriculum vitae-qualities" holds between electoral systems. Does a more competitive electoral system elect candirlates that score higher on such measures? Using education as a proxy forthese qualities the study traces different outcomes on education in a mixed electoral system, camparing the majoritarian (more competitive) part of the electoral system with the prop011ional (less competitive) part.

The thesis demonstrates protection solutions that can be suitable for a camp during internationalmissions in order to resist complex threats. The threats could consist of small arms, machineguns,RPG 7, anti armour missiles, mortar, artillery, HPM-weapons, car bombs, biological and chemicalweapons as well as sabotage and theft. It?s not the technology itself that makes the threat scenariocomplex it?s the way the opponent acts during the operations. The opponent acts usually incivilian clothes and therefore he is difficult to distinguish from other civilians.

AbstractThis report is made in cooperation with the municipality of Vasteras and technical committeestaff. The report addresses several topics that affect fuel stations in Vasteras. The reportcontains two parts, first is a inventory that review all stations in the area to be addressed. Theinventory is made with consideration to various things that geographic situation, whatcompanies are represented and what level of service stations have. And the second part of thereport, is done with the analysis of how it looks in daily situations review.

Detta är en studie som syftar till att bidra med fördjupad kunskap om lärares upplevelser kring gymnasieskolans reform, GY11. Huvudfrågorna är hur väl man anser att informationen om GY11 har nått ut till skolan och på vilket sätt detta har skett samt hur lärare förhåller sig till de nya förändringarna, både i praktiskt arbete och i attityder. För att kunna besvara dessa frågeställningar har jag gjort en kvalitativ undersökning i form av personliga intervjuer och med grund i tidigare forskning har jag i min analys beaktat faktorer som direkt påverkar framgången för implementering av reformer, närmare bestämt lärares upplevda behov av förändring samt vikten av deliberativa samtal, organisering och tidsfördelning. Resultaten visar att det har gjorts stora ansträngningar för att få ut information till skolorna men att det har funnits vissa brister, att lärarna generellt är mycket positivt inställda till förändringarna, att det finns en klar ambition att arbeta enligt de nya riktlinjer som lagts fram för GY11 men att de ökade kraven på dokumentation upplevs som en negativ aspekt av reformen..

Inertia is often described as an unavoidable state that organisations reach when they grow to a certain size. Theorists present a number of different phenomenons, which together create the foundation for inertia. This study deals with the apparent resistance that appears among the large Nordic betting companies with regards to establishment on the electronic sports (eSports) market. The analysis is based on how the old phenomenon inertia takes place in young and seemingly flexible industries. This area has received limited coverage in current theory on inertia.

The artistic subjects disappeared from the obligatory curriculum of the Swedish secondary school in 2011. The purpose of this work is to analyze to which extent the new curriculum Lgy11 is based on scientific results when it comes to the role the aesthetics were given. This paper analyzes the documents that preceded the reform, such as Government Reports and Interpellation Debates, for a start. It continues with an analysis of an interdisciplinary group of researchers, whose scientific work include research of impacts of art and art education in ordinary education and learning in a more holistic perspective. Finally an analysis of the curriculum itself is made.

Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att ge läsaren en djupare inblick i reformen det fria skolvalet som trädde i kraft i början av 1990-talet i Sverige. Med uppsatsen skapas en kännedom för läsaren i hur reformen gick i kraft samt hur den i efterhand kan problematiseras utifrån forskning samt intervjuer med viktiga personer inom skolväsendet. Metoden som har använts i uppsatsen är en kvalitativ metod där individer subjektivt valts ut för semistrukturerade intervjuer. Intervjuerna har sedan transkriberats och ställts i förhållande till Max Webers teori om värderationella handlande, status och klass samt Pierre Bourdieus teori om habitus, klassreproduktion och kapital. Studien visar på marginella konsekvenser av det fria skolvalet i den kommun där den är gjord, dock finns möjliga tendenser till att ett fritt skolval kommer att påverka mer i framtiden..

In 1995, the World Trade Organization WTO was established. Today WTO has nearly 150 member countries, accounting for over 97 percent of the world trade. WTO has a number of agreements and one of them is the General Agreement on Trade in Services GATS. GATS control the service sector, and the public library is a small part of this sector. The purpose of this study is to examine the Swedish debate about GATSs possibility to affect the public library.

Bakgrund: Idag är det inte enbart stora och internationellt etablerade företag som verkar globalt. Fler och fler små och medelstora företag internationaliseras och är numera av stor betydelse för tillväxten i många länder. Dessa företag har visat förmåga att etablera sig internationellt, trots att tillgången till framförallt finansiella resurser kan tyckas begränsa deras internationaliseringsprocess. Snabbväxande företag finns inom alla sektorer, men givetvis finns en förhållandevis större andel tillväxtföretag i branscher och sektorer där marknaden och efterfrågan växer snabbt. Roxtec AB är ett snabbväxande industriföretag som vänder sig till industriella köpare inom tre stora sektorer, telekom, marin & offshore och industri.

Syftet med undersökningen är att i förväg kartlägga behöriga lärares uppfattningar om vad en mer differentierad betygsskala innebär. Frågeställningarna är: Vilka olika sätt att uppfatta en ny betygsskala kan urskiljas i lärares utsagor? Vad anser lärare att en mer differentierad betygsskala kommer att få för konsekvenser för deras uppgift att bedöma och betygssätta elever? Undersökningen är av kvalitativ natur med fenomenografiska inslag och har genomförts i form av intervjuer med nio stycken behöriga lärare i gymnasieskolan. Gymnasieskolorna är belägna i tre olika kommuner. Intervjumaterialet har analyserats utifrån tidigare forskning.

After World War II a rapid expansion of the Swedish health care took place. Theexpansion was realised chiefly as a development of the hospitals and was bothproduced and financed mainly within the public sector. The financing consisted to ahigh degree of government grants from the state to the county councils.During the period for this examination (1945-1955) the public responsibility for thehealth care was expanded. This was expressed in the publicly financed system forhealth insurance and the cut down in the charges that the patients had to pay for thehospital care. These changes led to some discussions on the national level but reformscould on the whole, with exception for the suggested reform of the open health care,be implemented.This case-study performed on the county council in Värmland shows that the degreeof consensus was enhanced on the regional level.
