Background: Today, the tourism sector is one of the economically fastest growing sectors in the world. Volunteer travel is a type of service that is gaining in popularity and a number of tour operators organize these trips. Few aid agencies engaged in volunteer activities and therefore the interest in volunteer travel is caught by tour operators. These tourists travel in small groups and interact with locals. Today fifty million children in Africa are orphaned and Africans struggling with the care of these children by founding orphanages.Research questions:What does volunteers contribute with during their stay at orpahanges?What view does volunteers and orphanages have on volunteer tourism?Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to examine the positive and the negative effects that volunteer tourism contributes to orphanages.Method: The study is based on a qualitative approach with semi-and unstructured interviews, observations, and email interviews.

This is an ethnographically inspired study focusing on multilingualism in a Swedish preschool setting. The purpose of the study was to find out how the children perceived their multilingualism and how it was expressed by the children in the interaction with teachers and peers. The research questions were as follows: How is the multilingualism expressed in the day to day interaction in preschool? What significance does the daily interaction with peers and educators have for the children?s perceptions of their multilingualism? How do the children perceive their multilingualism and the value in their multilingual abilities?  To answer these question methods inspired by ethnographical studies were used, namely participant observation and semi-structured interviews with the children.   Theory was used from two areas; childhood sociology as theorized by Corsaro with the ideas of peer cultures and interpretive reproduction, and the sociology of language with the theory of collaborative empowerment as introduced and developed by Cummins. The children in the study were seen as social actors who are important here and now and who contribute to the development of society.   The study showed that the multiple languages were visible in the preschool, but that the Swedish language was upheld as the norm and the language of communication; no children were recorded playing in their ?home language? during interaction with other children.

Digital marketing has been changing continuously and rapidly since the introduction of Web2.0 ten years ago (Lin, Li, Deng, & Lee, 2013). Companies are now engaging their users intheir digital marketing by providing with interactive contents in digital campaigns. The digitalcampaigns are getting more converge with SNS (social networking sites) in order to let the usershare the content with others and therefore the e-WOM (electronic word of mouth) helps thecompanies digital campaigns to be shared by more users (Moran, Muzellec, & Nolan, 2014).The interactive content in the digital campaigns have shown to provide for engaged users andtherefore leads to loyal users. The reason for this has its roots in the culture of consumptionthat has brought our everyday consumption to a whole new level where we no longer justconsumes a product, we are the brand (Davis, 2013).The study, Click here for solidarity, aims to explain the interactive phases and rhetorical elementsthat companies use to engage the user to interact with the content of the digital campaigns.The study is based on four digital campaigns in four different market areas in order to providewith an overall picture of how companies work with interactive and rhetorical elements. Religiös etik i miljöarbetetUppsatsen bygger på en primär fråga och det är huruvida religion kan bidra med en etisk aspekt i miljöarbetet, jag har även försökt att besvara en sekundär frågeställning som avser hur miljön med hjälp av en religion ur miljöetiskt perspektiv kan förbättras för människor, djur och natur.          För att besvara frågeställningen har jag använt mig av en komparativ studie där jag har jämfört Larry L Rasmussens Earth community, earth ethics och Dalai Lamas Etik för ett nytt millenium. Carolyn Merchants Naturens Död utgör min bakgrund och är det perspektiv jag antagit i undersökningen, jag valde författaren för att få en feministisk historisk analys av de händelser som lett fram till det moderna vetenskapssamhället och problemställningen vi står inför idag.          Resultatet av undersökningen visar att det största ansvaret ligger på individen men att ett etiskt system baserat på världsreligionernas centrala värderingar kan vara till stor hjälp när eget ansvar och etiska överväganden ska avgöras. Kristendomen har genom dualism och mans-centrering skapat ett destruktivt förhållningssätt till naturen och kvinnor vilket bidragit till många av dagens miljöproblem, klassåtskillnader och andra orättvisor, därför måste kristendomen reformeras till att se människan som en del av naturen och ta beslut som har en helhet i åtanke då hela världen samverkar i ett enda system. Det är speciellt viktigt att kristendomen tar ett stort ansvar att förvandla den västerländska världen från en materialistisk till en ansvarstagande kultur, därefter kan den bidra ur ett miljöetiskt perspektiv.          Dalai Lamas etik utgår från invidnivå och eget ansvar som inte förutsätter en religiös övertygelse av den anledningen att religion och andlighet är skilda saker. Religion är bön, ritualer och tro på en metafysisk sfär, andlighet har med den mänskliga andens egenskaper att göra det vill säga medkänsla, tålamod och ansvar.En etik som hjälper människor att ta ansvar och hantera lidande kan vara till stor hjälp för att bidra till psykologisk och emotionell hälsa i västländerna.

We were interested in catalogers as human beings and in their reaction to a changed working situation. In the light of the changes which have been made at the libraries during the nineties, we investigated why the very group catalogers reacted with an intense and engaged open debate at the same time as librarians with special competence didn t seem to react in this way. The open debate about the catalogers changed working conditions was held in Sweden, above all at BIBLIST, which is a forum for library-connected questions. This forum uses an email list made particularly for librarians. The situation of the librarians was, to a small extent, also discussed in publications made for the library line of business.

In the low-income countries of the world, rapid urbanization and decaying infrastructure results in an increasingly unsustainable situation when it comes to solid waste management. Often, the solution tends to focus on introducing technical advanced interventions based on the conditions of the high-income world. However, this thesis aims to ?nd site-speci?c solutions on solid waste management at a local scale. By taking in consideration of local conditions a customized approach is possible where the solution is not dependent on expensive structural changes.

Introduction Every tenth patient in Sweden is affected by nosocomial infections. Among these, urinary tract infection (UTI) is the most frequently occurring within the hospital environment. Nosocomial infections lead to increasing costs for care, more suffering among the patients, increasing use of antibiotics, and longer treatment spells. The Academic hospital have engaged all wards in the so called VRISS-project (?nosocomial infections must be stopped?) in order to reduce the number of nosocomial infections.Aim In connection to the VRISS-project new routines for removal of uretrahl catheters are introduced at ward 70E2 at the Academic hospital.

Like several of her female peers, Marie Under (1883 - 1980) has been denied the international acclaim she deserves. The earliest text on Marie Under in swedish told of her greatness, but in classical fallic maner reduced her poetic production by marking it with pathological symtoms. Though latter texts by author Enel Melberg have put a feminist perspective on Unders work, the theoretical complexity of her poetic images and language, and its polemic relation to contemporary literary currents, has yet to be recognised. This study will seek to portrait Marie Under and her poetry in this new light.The study moves from an installation of Marie Under in the modern discourse she so far has been estranged from, to an analysis of her earlier works (in the 1910?s and 1920?s).
