A church in rural Vester Egede from the earliest Christian period in Denmark e.g. the early 1100, a baptismal font is found showing a woman breastfeeding two animals. She is said to be a typical early roman Luxuria, in mild appearance. However, what makes her unique is that she appears standing on the top of her head, her womb serving as font. The main question is how come that a baptismal font like this is to be found in a church, leading to the sub question, if this font really has a Christian origin or could it be rooted in Norse, pre-Christian tradition, alternatively is the font an expression of a syncretism between the two colliding cultures.

Two elementary schools are now being built in Gråbo (in the municipality of Lerum),Röselidsskolan and Ljungviksskolan, which are both designed with solar thermalcollectors for the schools domestic water heating. During the summer while thelargest amount of solar heat can be generated, the activity hence the domestic wateruse in the schools are heavily reduced. Both schools are connected to the local districtheating system which makes it possible to use the solar collectors to deliver heat tothe district heating.The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the two systems mentioned above and todetermine which system is more suitable to apply on a school. The building whichconditions were used for this evaluation is Röselidsskolan.A solar heating plant of each system type was dimensioned from the expected andknown conditions of the building. The purpose with the dimensioning was to makethe solar plants replace the ordinary energy source as much as possible.

In Uppsala CHP Plant, there are six pressure reducing valves to reduce the pressure from 15 to 3 bars, before six absorption heat pumps. During the process the energy is conserved but losses occur in form of exergy. The aim of this thesis is to reduce the losses of exergy. This can be done by letting turbines replace the pressure reducing valves.In this thesis an investigation has been done of the conditions today, the conditions after the change from pressure reducing valves to turbines and a comparison of three different types of turbine solutions. The three examined solutions are one turbine, several helical screw expanders and several small turbines in parallel with asynchronous generators.The six absorption heat pumps have been divided into two groups; one group of four and one group of two absorption heat pumps.

In this bachelor thesis we have studied how interaction designers describe their profession. The research material is based on nine interviews with interaction designers. Questions cover areas such as interaction design tasks, what abilities they consider important, how they describe their relationship to the users, and cooperation with colleagues. We have analyzed the results using key terms such as habitus, field, and capital, as described by sociologist Pierre Bourdieu. The interviewees express humanistic views, and ask for more cooperation between interaction designers, as well as other people within the field of IT production.

The project is about making a Re-Design of the Swedish Socialistic Newspaper ?Dagens ETC?. The background to the project is my search for commitment when I work with a specific customer or project and how importantthat commitment are?The project was from the beginning split up to three different phases. The meaning of the first phase where to make a re-design mainly based on a interview with Johan Ehernberg, the chef editor on ETC.The second phase was a design totally made of my own idea and creative view as a Graphic Designer.I had in mind to make the third phase based on the result of the first two phases.During phase one and two I reconsidered and decided to skip the third step and put more effort in to the two first ones.

Målsättningen med detta arbete är att ta fram en metod för att kartera och analysera den rumsliga variationen av landskapets sårbarhet för miljögifter, samt att visa hur geografiska informationssystem (GIS) kan underlätta denna rumsliga kartering och analys. Analysen utfördes inom vattenskyddsområdet Ignaberga-Hässleholm i Hässleholms kommun. Först studerades sårbarheten utifrån markens förutsättningar med hjälp av modellen DRASTIC och sedan studerades var de mest mobila bekämpningsmedlen har använts i förhållande till resultaten från DRASTIC..

Människan är nyfiken och vill finna ny information på webbplatser. Detta kan underlättas med hjälp av virtuella doftspår som användaren följer. Denna rapport är en fördjupning i hur människan går tillväga för att följa virtuella doftspår och hur man som designer ska använda sig av detta när man utvecklar en webbplats. Genom teorierna information foraging och användbarhet har en användbarhetsmodell och en operationalisering tagits fram för att underlätta detta. Tillsammans med datainsamling genom intervjuer och metoderna heuristisk utvärdering och high fidelity har studien visat att när man skapar ett gränssnitt för användare behövs information foraging som bestämmer eller lämnar förslag på hur virtuella doftspår påverkar användaren..

Detta examensarbete är utfört på Helsingborgs Dagblad AB i Helsingborg. Examensarbetet omfattar en analys ur kvalitetssynpunkt av HD:s material-, energi- och transportflöden, dess påverkan på miljön, kopplingen mellan HD:s tre kärnvärden och vikten av ett strukturerat miljöarbete samt ett antal förslag på fortsatt arbete. HD:s materialflöden består främst av material för tryckningen men även en hel del elektroniska apparater. Ett stort antal datorer och annan kontors-utrustning står på dygnet runt, året runt vilket orsakar onödigt stor energiförbrukning. HD:s verksamhet är beroende av transporter, både av material och personer.

Vårt examensarbete har resulterat i ett sökverktyg för råa obearbetade satellitscener. Den är tänkt att användas som modell för SSC Satellitbilds egna slutgiltiga sökmotor som i huvudsak skall användas av kundtjänsten och försäljningsavdelningen hos SSC Satellitbild. För att skapa detta prototyp-sökverktyg har vi valt att använda ESRIs desktop mapping-programvara ArcView, och dess applikationsspråk Avenue. Med Avenue ville vi bygga ett sökverktyg som via ett antal formulär ställer upp villkor för utsökning ur en databas. Databasen består i vårt exempel endast av en tabell, som innehåller information om ett antal scener.

Ett plastobjekt, en filt, en textil pelare, en T-shirt och lite kakel är ett examensarbete där jag undersöker hur jag som designer fungerar i en verklighetsnära kontext och inom en begränsad tidsram. Jag har bett fem formgivare som jag beundrar att med helt fria händer ge mig en brief var. Brieferna har jag sedan löst på en vecka vardera. För att hålla tempot uppe och för att komma framåt har jag använt mig av olika metoder och tekniker. Projekten omfattar allt ifrån rumsliga lösningar för offentlig miljö och produkter till kreationer mot kropp.

Vinderosion på jordbruksmark har länge varit ett välkänt faktum trots att någon utförligare undersökning om dess omfattning och skadeverkan inte tidigare genomförts. Mot bakgrund av detta har därför ett nordeuropeiskt projekt, WEELS (Wind Erosion on European Light Soils), dragits i gång som syftar till kartlägga vinderosionen på sandig jordbruksmark i norra Europa och som man i slutändan hoppas ska kunna resultera i en vinderosionsmodell. Detta har genomförts med SOIL modellen, en matematiskt fysikaliskt baserad modell för simulering av vatten och värmeflöde i en skiktad jordmånsprofil..
