This study focuses on the Encounter between the academic librarian and the academic library user with a specific need for information. The aim of the study is to examine the process of mediation of information and to uncover any inherent problems or systemic inertia that may occur within that process.Special attention has been given to information-seeking behaviour in the digital age and the possibility of viewing information literacy as a meta-literacy. The difference between the surface web and the academic invis- ible web is also investigated. Empirical data was collected by the use of ethnographic fieldwork at the Karolin- ska Institutet University Library over a period of five weeks. The data is analysed using actor-network theory as a point of departure.

The aim of this study was to understand how social workers perceive and understand violence and threats of violence from clients, and how it effect their working environment. It seems that the respondents understand the violence and threats of violence from clients as a result of the clients background problems, vulnerability, dependency and from ?the reason" that the client is currently in the contact with the organization. How respondents interpret the client´s behaviour based on the above-mentioned factors, seem to determine how the respondents perceive and define the violence and threats of violence by clients directed against them. Interestingly enough, although all respondents in the study experienced violence and threats of violence from clients, none of them perceived themselves as exposed at work. The answer to this is consensual.

This thesis is the result of the investigation and solution of a mechanicalproblem regarding flywheel malfunctions. A flywheel is, in short, a devicethat relies on a rotating object?s moment of inertia to store energy overshort time spans. This project is part of the development of a fourthflywheel prototype at the division for electricity at Uppsala university,which uses magnetic levitation to keep a hollow cylinder rotating at veryhigh speeds inside a vacuum chamber. Should the magnets fail however, orsome other error occur that leads to an uncontrolled state of rotation, thecylinder needs to be stabilized mechanically by a device usually referredto as ?back-up bearing?.

Att vårda en patient i livets slutskede innebär att bekanta sig med känslomässiga situationer som ofta påverkar sjuksköterskans omvårdnadshandling exempelvis effektiv symtomlindring. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva sjuksköterskans upplevelse av det vårdande mötet med patienten i samband med palliativ vård. Metod: Metoden var en litteraturstudie med kvalitativa ansatser. Sex vetenskapliga artiklar samlade in och användes som analysmaterial av denna studie. Innehållanalysen inspirerad av Graneheim och Ludman (2003) användes för att analysera insamlade data.

Den andliga dimensionen ingår i den holistiska människosynen som sjuksköterskan skall utgå från. I Socialstyrelsens Kompetensbeskrivning för legitimerad sjuksköterska står det att sjuksköterskan ska ha förmåga att bemöta patienters andliga behov. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa faktorer som påverkar sjuksköterskans bemötande av andliga behov. Polit och Becks (2012) niostegsmodell användes för litteraturstudien. Litteratursökning genomfördes i databaserna CINAHL och PubMed samt genom en manuell sökning.

Bakgrund: Hur bemötande upplevs påverkas av många olika faktorer och beskrivs som ett svårdefinierat begrepp. Hälso- och sjukvårdspersonalen skapar sitt bemötande bland annat genom hur de tar emot och hälsar på patienterna. Även hur kroppen är riktad i förhållande till patienterna och anhöriga har en inverkan på upplevelsen av bemötandet. I hälso- och sjukvården sker flera tusentals möten varje dag och mötena blir på många sätt avgörande för patienternas upplevelse av den vidare vårdkontakten. Metod: Litteraturstudien gjordes med fokus på omvårdnad och vetenskapliga artiklar söktes i Cinahl, PubMed och SweMed.

Bakgrund: Mötet mellan sjuksköterska och patient har beskrivits som grundläggande isjuksköterskearbetet och är mer välstuderat i andra sjukvårdsmiljöer än hemsjukvården,som är basen för Sveriges sjukvård och engagerar ett stort antal behövande som vårdasav många anställda. Hemmet får allt större betydelse som vårdplats och antalet platserpå sjukhusen blir färre.Syftet var att beskriva sjuksköterskan i hemsjukvårdens upplevelse av mötet medpatienten och dennes närstående i deras eget hem (ordinärt boende).Metod: Studien gjordes som en allmän litteraturstudie där vetenskapliga artiklarsystematiskt söktes i olika databaser för att sedan analyseras. Sökningarna resulterade i11 artiklar.Resultatet: Presenteras i tre kategorier som beskriver sjuksköterskans upplevelser:Relationens betydelse i mötet med patient och närstående, förtroende, tillit och respekt imötet samt maktlöshet, frustration och en känsla att inte räcka till.Diskussion: Med kännedom om hur betydelsefull relationen till patienten upplevskänns det angeläget att som sjuksköterska i hemsjukvården arbeta personcentrerat ochatt hela tiden lyssna in patient och närstående och försöka anpassa sig till situationen.7Slutsats: Relationen mellan patient, närstående och sjuksköterska har stor betydelse föroch påverkar alla inblandade parter. Kunskap som är av betydelse för att möta de kravoch förväntningar hemsjukvården kommer ställas inför när allt fler och allt sjukarepersoner kommer behöva hjälp med allt mer avancerade insatser..

The aim for this master thesis is to create an understanding of the intersubjective processes of how individuals are experimenting with their identities in social media and the consequences for the identity and embodiment. The thesis is completed with the help of discourse analysis and a starting point in four complementary theories. Central to the implementation of the analysis is the concept of diffraction. Therefore the thesis is, which is reflected in the choice of theoretical approaches and methods, critical to many aspects of classical philosophy of science and method. The empirical material is based on interviews.

The audiologists´ knowledge-domain is generally described as a unique combination of medical, technical, social and behavioural sciences. It gives prominence to the importance of an adequate education relating to the knowledge-demands the students´Encounter during their trainee-period. However, an important question is if the educational content corresponds to the knowledge-demands during the training? Aim: This study aimed to identify the knowledge-demands of students during their trainee-period. Furthermore, to identify how the students´ actual knowledge was related to the Encountered knowledge-demands.

ABSTRACT Introduction: One of the great difficulties that the nurse anesthetist Encounter in their profession is to assess and estimate sleep depth versus signs of pain in the anesthetized patient. Based on a pre-operative appointment and the perioperative monitoring, an assessment of the patient is made. The experience that the nurse anesthetist has can make it easier to understand what subtile signs of the patient depends on. Purpose: With this in mind, the purpose of the pilot study was to try to find out if there are specific signs of pain during anesthesia and if the professional experience played a role. As a subsidiary aim the authors examined whether there were factors in the patient that the nurse anesthetist takes into account in the identification of pain during anesthesia.

This MA thesis analyzes how the protagonists and the narrative structure relates to ?the Child? as a linguistic/cultural construction in Mare Kandre?s early authorship (1984-1991). A thematic of children portraits defines this period of Kandre?s writing, which consits of the following works: In a Different Country (1984), The Annunciation (1986), Bübin?s Kid (1987), The Burning Tree (1988) and Aliide, Aliide (1991).Linguistic components, such as the word ?child?, the name ?Kid? and a reconstruction of the concept of childhood, holds an actuate position in these narratives when they first appear in direct relation to the protagonists. This suggests how generally accepted categories and concepts consciously are at work in Kandre?s writings.

From being an exotic small religion that has existed at a fading presence in southern Iraq and Iran mandeism has moved to the West and Sweden. In this essay, I have begun to examine how Mandaeans think about their identity and religion. I have taken my starting point in a broad theoretical discussion of identity, religion and secularisation. Background Participation in the community is vital to mental health and is beneficial to individuals and society. Many studies discuss this issue in relation to the disabled, and this study investigates this further. The goal of this survey, performed in Göteborg, Sweden, is to study issues relating to the participation of people with physical disabilities, according to their own perceptions and experiences on this issue. Method Qualitative methodology was used to explore experiences of participation in twenty physically disabled adults by means of semi structured personal interviews. Results From a social constructionist view, disability is explained in terms of being socially constructed.

The following study is a discourse analysis of the concept of critical thinking within pre-school teacher education. It considers the following questions: how does the concept of critical thinking appear in policy documents, central to the pre-school teacher education, and which possible conceptions of critical thinking are conveyed by students and teachers active within the education. Additionally, the study seeks to discuss, as well as suggest a possible relation, between the findings of those two questions. In reviewing the material (consisting of five semi-structured interviews with students and teachers, and of a selection of policy documents central to the education), I argue the existence of a sort of project within the education, which presents critical thinking as a higher value. At the same time, I argue that the concept is not defined or concretized. This project, however, as I suggest while drawing upon Foucault?s ideas of discourse and government, involves a rather high degree of control.
