SyfteDenna studie syftar till att undersöka privatpersoners uppfattningar om Rosa Bandet-kampanjen. Den underliggande teorin i studien är Stuart Halls Encoding/decoding-modell. De metoder som använts för undersökningen är fokusgrupper kombinerat med en kampanjanalys med utgångspunkt i Lars Palms synsätt om budskapsstrategier. Materialet som studerats är fyra olika kampanjmaterial, två filmer och två annonser, från Rosa Bandet-kampanjen mellan år 2011 och 2014. Studien är en kvalitativ mottagarstudie, vilket innebär att mottagarnas uppfattning och tolkning varit det centrala i undersökningen.ResultatEfter en inkodningsundersökning av Rosa Bandets kampanjmaterial och en avkodningsundersökning genom en fokusgrupp har studien visat att privatpersoners uppfattningar i hög grad stämmer överens med hur Rosa Bandet-kampanjen vill uppfattas..

This master's thesis focuses on the development of a strategy for aninformation service in the area of digitization of cultural heritage andresearch, with a web based platform as implementation of the strategy. Viathe platform, digital collections and research are presented and shared.Services around the platform are provided. Support activities comprise thewhole chain of digitization, from digitization to archival of the digitizedobjects. The information service aims for a new approach to combine ICT andestablished research; research and industrial practice were combined andcooperation of participants from various backgrounds was enabled. Thestrategy and organization of such information service was described using a?quality management system?, standard ISO 9001.

Research in the field of gaming and the gaming culture shows that the culture is characterized by sexism and hypermasculinity, however a majority of this research is conducted in an Anglo-Saxon context. Therefore the aim of this study was to elucidate the Swedish gaming discourse in relation to gender, gendered norms and stereotypes. We also sought to examine the relationship between the editorial content and the blog comments. The study was based on a critical discourse analysis with a gender perspective, applied to five Swedish gaming blogs. By implementing power theory and Encoding/decoding theory, we have concluded that there is a discursive struggle, where one part of the gaming culture is characterized by male dominance, while the other part of the discourse is showing signs of resistance to this hypermasculinity.

Syfte: Att analysera hur Aftonbladet använde olika strategier och retoriska begrepp under rapporteringen av svininfluensan, samt hur mediers makt kan beskrivas utifrån Foucaults teori. Teori: Medieretorik, Encoding/decoding, budskapsstrategier, diskursteori, diskursens makt Metod: Kritiskt granskande analyser i form av kritisk diskursanalys och kritisk retorikanalys. Resultat: Aftonbladet använder sig utav medvetna eller omedvetna strategier och retoriska begrepp för att sända ut ett visst budskap. Makten att kunna försöka påverka kan, enligt Foucaults teori, komma ifrån staten i första hand. Därför är användningen utav strategier och retoriska begrepp nödvändig för att bibehålla makten att kunna försöka påverka och övertyga läsarna..

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine posts on bookblogs about the book, Cirkeln by Mats Strandberg and Sara Bergmark Elfgren and see how it has distributed amongst readers through social media and reader response. We want through this examine whether bookblogs have a place in the literary society, and in such cases, how this may take place. The Swedish Online bookshops Adlibris and Bokus is being used to find the blogposts to be examined in this thesis. The analysis is being implemented using content analysis and constructed Encoding schemes. Interdisciplinary topics, like LIS and sociology of literature may have similar points of contact, which we want to highlight with this thesis.

The present BA thesis is an analysis and a close reading of the French author Gabrielle Wittkop's novel Le Nécrophile (1972). The analysis consists of two parts. The first part focuses on the story and can be described as an attempt to interpret the engine of the history. The second part of the analysis focuses on the narrative; how the story is told. Le Nécrophiles main motif is re-Encoding the representation of death in art and literature, traditionally conceived as a beautiful female corpse.

This report studies how the divergence between men and women is manifested in the physical space and how the representation of room recreates this divergence. Spaces are coded and women have traditionally been associated with private space and men with public space, leading to that the home is encoded as female space and public squares as male space. Thereby women lack a natural place in public space. The National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (Boverket) wants to change this situation by enforcing safety-creating measures based on gender equality theories.I have studied what potential risks the project initiated by Boverket as well as discuss the potential problems with representation. Can representation be used without freezing the space? I also search for methods for working with a gender perspective without reproducing gender stereotypes and roles and avoiding Encoding the private as female and public as male? Also I use a public seminar with urban planners, artists and architects to retrieve how we work with these issues today.I conclude that city planning needs to incorporate new strategies of thought that does not divide space, e.g.

Jag ville undersöka förhållandet mellan en fotografs specifika intentioner gällande manipulering av bildspråkets aspekter och personers tolkningar av dessa aspekter i fotografiska bilder. Jag lät fem personer enskilt tolka åtta manipulerade bilder. Aspekterna i bilderna är kopplade till teorier som berättar vad de specifika manipuleringarna innebär. Jag utgick från Encoding/Decoding-modellen av Stuart Hall som tittar på hur mottagare tolkar ideologiska meningar. Den lät mig se att samtliga av de intervjuade tolkade bilderna på sitt egna vis och inte i den riktning jag ville de skulle tolka dem.

I den här uppsatsen har vi studerat hur en film aktiverar människors sociala och kulturella positioner. Vi visade filmen Crash för åtta komvuxelever, vilket följdes av en kvalitativ intervju med dem. Eleverna fick svara på frågor om sin egen bakgrund, filmens budskap och rollfigurer, hur de uppfattade filmen och den föreslagna verkligheten i filmen, samt frågor kring sin egen framtid. Informanternas svar har hjälpt oss att synliggöra hur det görs över- och underordningar i filmen. Med hjälp av vår bakgrund och analytiska verktyg har vi interagerat med våra informanter och de har bidragit med perspektiv som vi aldrig hade kunnat se med tillämpning av enbart teorier.

To achieve a better understanding of PSI-N´s role in the photosynthesis it is necessary to develop a method for purification of PSI-N. The goal with this project was to design a plasmid that encodes a fusion protein containing PSI-N. With use of proteases the fusion protein can be cleaved into purified PSI-N.

The purpose of this thesis is to compare mass digitization and qualitative digitization, to see how the digitization process and the digitalized material differ. The study emanates from the mass digitization as it is performed at the National Library in Norway, and the qualitative digitization at the Royal Library in Sweden. The method used is document studies combined with mail interviews. The focus is upon the practical operation, to which counts: ?purpose & selection?, ?preparation, image capturing and processing?, ?metadata & text Encoding?, ?quality assessment?, ?storage of digital originals and copies? and ?display?.

Each time you pass a stand full of magazines it?s hard not to absorb the many exhortations that are being thrown at you. The range of different lifestyle magazines have more or less exploded during the last years. All magazines, each one trying to outmatch the other, want to help you improve to be the best you can.People get affected by their surroundings including what they see and what they read. Therefore we chose to do this study, as an opportunity to get a closer look on what the Swedish lifestyle magazines Cosmopolitan and Café tell us about women and men.

Med stöd av teorier om barn och kommunikation, mediepåverkan liksom synen på barn som publik ville vi i denna uppsats ta reda på hur barn i mellanstadiet i Halmstad läser filmen "Dylans historia?, en egenproducerad programserie om Halmstads historia.Frågeställningen var: Hur ser det narrativa mötet ut mellan producenternas intentioner, så som de uttrycks i produktionens/filmens narrativa element, och barnen. Det vill säga, hur uppfattar barnen filmen? Utifrån Stuart Halls teorier om ?Encoding - decoding? jämförde vi producenternas intentioner med texten (filmen) med den tolkning som publiken (barnen) gjorde. 19 barn i åk 4 och åk 6 intervjuades.
