Framtidens studerandemiljö : En studie om utformning av studerandemiljö på Umeåuniversitetsbibliotek
A Large part of the education provided at colleges and universities of today requires for thestudent to be more independent in their studies. This demands that the physical space, where the students choose to study, is designed in a way that can encourage and supportlearning. It seems as though that many of the learning spaces of today don?t always meetthe students? needs. The university library at the University of Umeå is currently planningto design new learning spaces for the students.
Sagans skog - textil vägg för flexibla rum i offentlig miljö
The story of the forest - A folded textile wall for flexible rooms in public spacesIn the story of the forest the dragonfly is spinning yarn shiny as the sun. In the story of the forest almost everything can happen and almost everything is also happen there.Inspiration from Lennart HellsingThe goal in this exam work was to create a calm, playful space for children in public spaces. A place where children can hide and relax without being disrupted by the surrounding, a place where their imagination can grow and take place. The goal was also to make a flexible space for public spaces that could be used in different ways. Today many libraries want to be more than a library, they will work as a meeting place and you can find several activities to join in.
Light spaces

Preporsition for bachelor thesis project, working from the inside and out. Emphasising spatial quality and experience, More or less ignoring form and program. I?ve had issues with these aspects in earlier project, the form or the program takes alot of place in the project. I haven?t tried this approach before, it?s an attractive thought to allow the project take a form of it?s own, enclosing those spaces i create. The initial concept was to place the pools on the ground (not digging them into the ground) making them volumes that divide and define spaces.

Tr?stadens dolda utrymmen: fasader i husens mellanrum som kulturhistoriskt k?llmaterial
This thesis explores the narrow spaces between closely built houses in the over 300-year-old wooden
town center of Mariestad, Sweden, and their potential as time capsules and sources of knowledge in
cultural-historical building investigations. By interpreting well-preserved carpentry work on a facade
in one of these spaces, the study aims to provide an example of how these preserved spaces can serve
as a source of knowledge and understanding of craftsmanship and the history of the place. The thesis
also addresses the municipality of Mariestad's work with cultural heritage, as well as maps out more of
these potentially interesting interstitial spaces. Old Swedish wooden towns possess a high degree of
uniqueness both nationally and internationally; nevertheless, they are subjected to relatively significant
threats of demolitions and substantial changes, often in the form of many smaller restorations or
changes over a long period of time.
The focus of the case study is a window from the 16th or 17th century and the facade's old, hand planed wooden cladding.
Belysning för immateriella rum -en lysande byrå
Bright Chest of DrawersThis project derives from a fascination of spaces which withonly light and shadow withhold a narrative value, which createsemotions and experiences with a minimum of objects. Iwanted to invesitigate light and lighting, and create a productthat can change the mood and experience of a spatial enviromentwith light. Questions I asked myself was: How do I relateto the spatial limitations that arise? How can I, with light asmy tool, give form to an immaterial value or state of mind? Will the object that illuminates be the most important factorof communication and meaning when I want to tell a story, oris it the light itself? The result became a chest of drawers that is lighted up frominside when you open the drawers. It serves a function as a unitfor storage of objects, but also makes us reflect of the importanceof objects, of how we define a spatial enviroment, andwhat we consider as private spaces in our home..
Integrated Green Spaces in Urban Areas : a case study of inner Brisbane
The review of Integrated green spaces in urban areas ? A case study of
inner Brisbane highlight the significance of addressing characteristics,
qualities and landscape values in our outdoor environment. The importance
of green spaces to the wellbeing of people in the city and the ecological,
social and cultural values they carry are widely recognised in the
field of urban and regional planning. At the same time population growth,
climate change and urban development put planners and scientists in a
challenging position where new solutions must be put on the agenda in
order to accomplish sustainability. Open space strategies, collaboration
between stakeholders, public participation, learn from earlier failings and
a ?value-led? approach facilitate the managing of open space.
Brisbane is located in the fastest growing metropolitan region in Australia.
The city´s open space landscapes offer cultural, geographical, recreational,
social and scenic amenity assets, which make a major contribution
to the regions identity they a wide world known for.

Härnösand och E4:an - vägen som lokaliseringsfaktor
Cities have always been founded on nodes of different roads. The city Harnosand was founded where the road along the coast of north Sweden meets the sea and the calm bay of Nattviken behind the island of Harnon.
Harnosand has a big historic heritage as one of the first cities in the north part of Sweden, centre of the church and education city. The incrising centralisation of Sweden and the globalication of the world have made north of Sweden to the backside of Sweden. The coun- tryside and the smaller cities don ?t live anymore. In Harnosand is big moving out and many empty spaces.
In the middle of Harnosand next to Nattviken, is one of these empty spaces. This empty space next to the road of E4, that leads out in the world and Europa.
Klara färdiga gå : en gestaltning för ökad fysisk aktivitet i urbana rum
The title: ?Klara färdiga GÅ? can be translated as ?Ready steady GO?, and is ment as a request to start move. In this project I want to invite people to walk more by creating creative, demanding and playful walkways and paths, where the body can be allowed to work just a tiny bit harder. It?s because walking means exercise and fresh air, for free and without spetial equipment. Walking can also be fun, it allows people to stop, change direction and experience things.I think activity should be fun, inspired by children playground my project is a contribution to how adults might stay healthier in a city, where too often healthy activity is solely confined to the gym or sports fields.

Graffiti : kontextualitet, platsbundenhet och innehåll
The focus of this essay is to investigate if there lies a difference between graffiti art that is placed in the public spaces and graffiti art that is sited in an institutional art setting; in this essay exemplified in a gallery space. My thesis is that graffiti art derives a great deal of its meaning and substance from its situation consequently making a change of cultural context also a change of connotation and understanding of the graffiti art itself. Meaning that graffiti art situated in a communal space is different from graffiti art situated in the gallery space. They share aesthetic expression but their connotations differ; i.e. one being illegal and the other permissible making their meanings dissimilar. I have used a comparison between site-specific art and graffiti art to further strengthen my thesis concerning the importance of understanding how a change of context critically changes the substance of graffiti art..
