An increasing number of scholarly publishers are beginning to make their journals available electronically. At the same time there is a growing amount of exclusively electronic journals freely accessible on the Internet. These are facts that librarians have to take into consideration.This master's thesis aims to describe the electronic journal and its role in Swedish academic libraries. In a review of current literature about electronic journals, the authors discuss their strengths and weaknesses, and their impact on scholars, publishers and libraries. To investigate the situation in Sweden, a questionnaire was sent out to 43 academic libraries.Questions were raised about the selection and acquisition of electronic journals, access, technology and economy.The results show that almost half of the 35 responding libraries offer electronic journals to their users.

Att fakturera är något som alla företag måste göra för att tjäna pengar. Fakturering kan ske på flera olika sätt och det finns olika åsikter vad som är att föredra bland företag när det handlar om hantering av fakturor. Teorin menar på att använda sig av elektroniska faktureringssätt är mer effektivt än fakturering via traditionell post. Syftet med denna forskning var att ta reda på varför företag i Sverige år 2015 väljer att skicka, mottaga och hantera fakturor med post när det finns alternativa metoder som PDF via mail och vad det är som gör att företag inte byter från det ena förhållningssättet till det andra..

Syfte: att sammanställa vad som finns publicerat om digital avtrycksteknik och jämföra denna teknik med konventionell avtrycksteknik för fast kron- och broprotetik och på så sätt underlätta för operatörer att välja metod. Material och metod: litteratursökningar gjordes via Pubmed, Science Direct och genom handsökning i International Journal of Computerized Dentistry och Quintessence International. Informationssökningar gjordes även via fabrikörernas hemsidor och i litteratur vid Malmö Högskolas Odontologiska bibliotek. Resultat: det finns ett fåtal publikationer, varav de flesta är in vitro studier. De gav underlag för en jämförande diskussion av följande punkter: tidseffektivitet och användarvänlighet, precision och passform, kostnad, miljövänlighet samt patientvänlighet. Konklusion: denna litteraturstudie visar att på grundval av de publikationer som finns idag så fungerar den digitala avtryckstekniken tillfredsställande och fullt jämförbart med konventionell teknik för fast kron- och broprotetik. Det finns idag vissa belägg för att digitala tekniker kan ersätta den konventionella vad gäller precision. Det bör dock påpekas att de studier som finns tillgängliga idag är in vitro och dessa behöver kompletteras med och verifieras genom kliniska studier..

Varför används tjänsten bank via Intenet endast i en begränsad utsträckning hos privatpersoner?En intervju av bankkunder tar fram privatpersoners viktigaste orsaker till att inte använda bankernas Internettjänster. Resultatet av den undersökningen jämförs med en liknande undersökning från Australien.Viktiga orsaker till att inte använda bank via Internet: bankkunder saknar tillgång till Internet, de tycker traditionellt tillvägagångssätt är tillräckligt bra, de är osäkra på säkerheten, de känner inte till servicen och fördelarna tillräckligt eller de vill ha den personliga kontakten med bankpersonalen..

SMTP, the current protocol for sending electronic mail (e-mail) over the Internet, has for many years suffered from several problems and limitations. When it was designed, well over twenty years ago, the requirements for e-mail were very different from those of today. A message was a text message in English, and both user and machine were explicitly named in the address. The protocol was not designed to transfer other types of messages, and no mechanism was included to verify the identity of the sender.In order to solve these shortcomings, a new e-mail protocol needs to be defined. This report specifies a basis for what such a protocol may look like.

The purpose of this study was to analyze recent appropriations of works of art in advertising. Why was art infused into magazine advertisements, how were the works of art tampered with to achieve commercial goals, how well did they function together with the ad copy? What did these advertisements want? What did the artwork contribute to the commercial message? These were some of the questions asked in the study that involved a closer look at four appropriations: one based on a battle painting by the Swedish 1900th century artist Carl Wahlbom, with a commercial message printed on top;  one a collage including an 18th century portrait of Marie Antoinettte by Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun; one advertisement was influenced by Dutch 1700th century still lifes, and, finally, one paraphrased Velázquez?s famous painting Las Meninas from 1655. Companies behind the advertisements featured a Swedish trade journal, a fashion exhibition in Paris, a shop for kitchen utensils in Stockholm, and an up-scale department store in Madrid.The ads, in different ways based on works of art, were evaluated as reasonably successful commercial messages. These ads, however, hardly qualified as works of art in their own right ? if that was the intention.

Flera av Sveriges största kvälls- och dagstidningar är sedan ett par år tillgängliga på Internet. Ett alternativ till att distribuera dem via Internet är broadcasting. I det här examensarbete har tyngdpunkten legat på att utforma en personlig tidning anpassad för att distribueras via rundradionätet i stället för via Internet. Jag har analyserat tre olika lösningar nämligen 1. En webbaserad och plattformsoberoende variant i XML + Java, 2.

Underhållsdokumentationen som arkiveras av underhållsorganisationer är kopior på originaldokument som kunder/operatörer måste spara. Eftersom arkiveringstiden ofta sträcker sig längre än kravet som är 3 år, medför detta att arkivet tar stor fysisk plats. Tillsammans med tidskrävande handläggning kan detta leda till förseningar för dokumentationen att nå arkivet. Detta medför att handläggare eller andra som vill få tillgång till dokumentationen inte ges den möjligheten. Genom att se till att dokumentationen sparas digitalt efter utförd release kommer dokumentationens tillgänglighet att öka, eftersom fler kommer att kunna granska dokumentationen.Genom att undersöka vad som krävs för att skanna in och OCR-konvertera dokumentationen kunde ett enkelt förslag redovisas.

This paper presents the results of a study of dyscalculia. It is a retrospective archival study implemented with a deductive approach. On the basis of established research and theory 18 analytical categories were formulated, before a deductive thematic analysis of empirical material, consisting of journal data of 17 students investigated for dyscalculia, 14 girls (82.4%) and 3 boys (17.6%).The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the concepts formulated in research on dyscalculia and actual mathematical difficulties as those found in practice of students at school.All pupils had early and long-term difficulties with mathematics, while not showing any difficulties in other subjects. Most have had an unsatisfactory learning environment. All had normal intelligence but difficulty with certain cognitive, self-regulatory and linguistic features.

The purpose of this Bachelor?s thesis is to explore the useability of bibliometric analysis on scientists of the humanities. This is accomplished by doing a case study on philosopher Slavoj ?i?ek. The work process and the results the case study is able to produce and the limits of these results are then analysed and discussed.In the case study all scientific articles in English published 1987-2010 citing ?i?ek were analysed.

This thesis examines the scientific publishing in the subject area of evidence based practice EBP in social work. Issues are: How has this publishing evolved, separately and compared to the publishing about evaluation in social work? What authors/countries have produced the largest numbers of articles? What journals have published the largest numbers of articles? Which are the most frequent co-occurrences of a selection of terms? 161 records for articles from 50 different journals were selected from Social Services Abstracts using subject of journal and a query as criteria. For each year, the number of articles about evaluation in social work was larger than about EBP. A decline in the publishing about evaluation coincide with a growth in EBP after the year 2000.

The aim of this masters thesis is to examine how the educational work of the Swedish public library was regarded in the Swedish library journal Biblioteksbladet at three different periods of the twentieth century, i.e. the thirties, the sixties and the nineties. Using a theoretical framework from the field of professionalization and a methodological framework of hermeneutics, it is shown that the educational work of the thirties can be described as having a focus on free learning whereas the educational work of the sixties can be described as having a focus on public utility. The educational work of the nineties focuses on the information seeking process of the user. It is noted that this development during the century can be understood as a shift of the cognitive authority of the public librarians.

This thesis evaluates and compares the retrieval effectiveness of the two search engines Google Scholar and Scirus, which both specialises in indexing scholarly material on the web as well as journal articles. Thirty search queries are used and the first twenty retrieved documents for each query are examined for topical relevance and scholarly content. The search queries are based on legitimate information needs taken from a scientific questionbox on the web. Queries are expressed with advanced search operators and are the same for both search engines. Precise relevance criteria are set up and a binary scale is used when judging.

The Swedish museum world is a complex and disputed field. Changes are high on the agenda, but they are neither easy nor self-evident. This master thesis looks at how Swedish museum professionals discuss changes and how they envision museum work for the future. It is also an analysis of the current state of the field. We have made a critical discourse analysis of three recent projects; Svåra saker, Museum 2000, makten.nu and the debate articles from the journal Svenska Museer from 2000 to 2001.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to study opinions about the Swedish hospital libraries and their activities for the patients, in a selection of Swedish library journal articles. The theoretical starting point is grounded in Laclau and Mouffes discourse theory. The empirical material consists of 43 articles from three library journals; Biblioteksbladet, Blänkaren and DIK-forum, published between 1990 and 2004. These are analysed through a reading scheme in four levels. In the empirical material two themes appear; the culture theme and the patient information theme.
