The purpose of this Bachelor?s thesis was to examine the information needs of the international students at the University of Borås. A further aim was to examine the types of information sources the international students was using to satisfy their information needs and the environmental factors keeping them from achieving this. This was done through focus group interviews with international students from four different countries ranging from the ages 20 ? 35.

The aim of this master's thesis is a comparative study on units for civic information in Göteborg. The study is based on a project currently in progress at the main public library in Göteborg. It is observed that according to the library's mission statement the library aims to become the most competent intermediary of civic information in Göteborg. This statement suggests a competitive strategy towards other intermediaries of civic information. The mission statement does, however, also state that their goal is to be obtained in cooperation with other intermediaries.

This Bachelor?s thesis is related to the area within library and information studies that focuses on information seeking and information practices. The study deals with how politically engaged young people seek information in relation to their political interests. The purpose of the study is to create an understanding of the roles that different forms of information-related activities play within the framework of political interest and of the feelings, experiences and challenges that such activities may give rise to for those involved. The study also discusses purposes and motivation for information seeking and use in political engagement.

It is therefore necessary for organisations to see information and its management as a significant part of the organisation s key to success. In this essay we have chosen to study the implications of information policy and information strategy for The Nordic Council/The Nordic Council of Ministers. These two intergovernmental organisations share the same information department. Although The Nordic Council/The Nordic Council of Ministers are non-profitable organisations, they share some characteristics with those acting in a competitive market.

The main purpose of this study is to investigate how student nurses seek and use information and libraries. Furthermore, I want to know how they think information can be used in their future occupation. Seven student nurses were included in the study. A qualitative method with personal interviews was used. The analysis of the empirical material was made according to a socio-cultural perspective.

The change in the information society has affected the development of the labour market for information specialists and informants as well as their roles. Companies are now aware of the fact that information specialists have a variety of important skills and competence that is important for them. The goal of this thesis is to see what defines an information specialist and an informant and also to find out their situation on the labour market. The similarities and differences between the two professions will also be discussed in the thesis. The main method used is the investigation of the job advertisements in the journal DIK-forum from the year 2000 and year 2004.

Stora Enso Packaging AB (SEPack) är en av Sveriges fyra stora wellpapptillverkare och har cirka 25 procent av den svenska marknaden. I dagsläget är SEPack den enda av de fyra som inte har en generell lösning för elektronisk handel gentemot sina kunder. Representanter för värdföretaget efterfrågade underlag inför beslut om ett eventuellt införande av en e-handelslösning för företaget. För att hamna rätt med investeringen ville SEPack klargöra vilken information och vilka funktioner inom ramen för en e-handelslösning som innebar mest nytta för wellpappköpare. Man ville också klargöra vilken information och vilka funktioner som skulle vara mest intressanta ur värdföretagets perspektiv.Undersökningen delades upp i tre steg.

Denna uppsats fokuserar på att fånga upp en relativt ny och växande företeelse inom elektronisk kommunikation, bloggen. Med min undersökning vill jag belysa bloggens möjligheter som ett kommunikationsmedel för ledare inom offentlig verksamhet samt öka förståelsen för vad en blogg är.Ett utmärkande drag för bloggen, som är en uppdaterad webbplats vars startsida karaktäriseras av ett antal daterade texter i omvänd kronologisk ordning, är att den beskrivs som en dagbok med en personlig, subjektiv och vardaglig text utan krav på källkritik av innehållet. Bloggen beskrivs gärna som en form av ?gräsrotsjournalistik? men den används också som strategisk kommunikation till exempel av offentliga aktörer som politiker och företagsledare eller som ett komplement inom traditionella media.Jag har valt att göra en kvalitativ textorienterad analys av tre ledares bloggar: Rektor Kåre Bremer vid Stockholms universitet, vice-ordförande Margot Wallström vid EU-kommissionen och generaldirektör Andreas Carlgren vid Integrationsverket. Jag ville veta vad de bloggar om, hur de använder sig av attributet och hur pass privat eller offentligt deras kommunikation är.I min undersökning kom jag fram till att de tre ledarskribenterna använder bloggen/elektronisk kommunikation som ett strategiskt redskap att kommunicera men de gör det på lite olika sätt.Margot Wallström använder sig av sin privata sfär som metod för sin strategiska kommunikation samtidigt som hon verkar i det offentliga rummet.

Flera av Sveriges största kvälls- och dagstidningar är sedan ett par år tillgängliga på Internet. Ett alternativ till att distribuera dem via Internet är broadcasting. I det här examensarbete har tyngdpunkten legat på att utforma en personlig tidning anpassad för att distribueras via rundradionätet i stället för via Internet. This report is the result of my examination work in Textdesign at Mälardalen University, Eskilstuna. The purpose with this work was to develop an accessible information material for the target group ?normal bowlers? that gives them the information they need to make their own decision on the lanes, because they often miss a coach during an away game. The focus was to target adjust the material through the theories readability, legibility and reading value, together with the method qualitative interviews. The result became a tested information booklet about how to read a lane pattern paper with additional information within the subject..

Underhållsdokumentationen som arkiveras av underhållsorganisationer är kopior på originaldokument som kunder/operatörer måste spara. Eftersom arkiveringstiden ofta sträcker sig längre än kravet som är 3 år, medför detta att arkivet tar stor fysisk plats. Tillsammans med tidskrävande handläggning kan detta leda till förseningar för dokumentationen att nå arkivet. Detta medför att handläggare eller andra som vill få tillgång till dokumentationen inte ges den möjligheten. Genom att se till att dokumentationen sparas digitalt efter utförd release kommer dokumentationens tillgänglighet att öka, eftersom fler kommer att kunna granska dokumentationen.Genom att undersöka vad som krävs för att skanna in och OCR-konvertera dokumentationen kunde ett enkelt förslag redovisas.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to study the relations between internal information and the principal business objectives in a knowledge organization. The questions are: how does the organization behave to its internal information resources, how is the information management related to the principal objectives and strategies, what information policy does the organization develop, and how is the management experienced by the employees. The purpose was to study the supply and management of information designed for internal use and the study was carried out with qualitative, semi-structured interviews to get a picture of the internal information management. The informants were mostly key persons with deep knowledge of internal information.
