The purpose of this study was to investigate hove some suburban areas image is shown to the public in the media coverage of suburban areas, and this is why I in this paper want to look more closely at the image of Tensta in the news media and how people in Tensta perceive themselves. News media has a very important role in the creation of human worldview. It influences our own identity and affects what a person believes is the difference in us and them. In the post-colonial theory, identity creation is a central role in philosophy, us and them. Based on the above purpose, I formulated an overall main question that this essay should answer.

Purpose: The purposes of the current study were to investigate whether there were any differences in the perceptual ability between professional and non-professional ice-hockey players and whether professional players are better at distinguishing, paying attention to and concentrating on what is important during intense physical activity. Method: Twenty male ice-hockey players (10 from both the Swedish first and third divisions) participated in the study. Wingate test were used for physiological measurements while three psychological tests were presented in front of the participants. Stroop, Flanker and Fast counting tests were used to measure perceptual and coping abilities during intense physical activity and the differences between the two groups. Results: Fast counting and Flanker word 2 tests showed a significant difference between the two groups, whereby the professional groups was faster and more accurate than the non-professional group in answering.

The purpose of this study is to investigate childrens possibilities to retrieve information by searching in searching engines designed for children. Two such search engines are examined: Yahooligans and Kids Click, both of which index pages in English only. I have compared Yahooligans with its equivalence for adults; Yahoo, by evaluating the retrieval effectiveness. Some functions in Kids Click and in Yahooligan are investigated. Seven class room studies are described in the prior research chapter.

Föreliggande systematiska litteraturstudies syfte var att beskriva anhörigas upplevelser och deras omvårdnadsbehov då en familjemedlem vårdades palliativt i hemmet, för att skapa en förståelse för vad sjuksköterskan kan bidra med. Sökord som valdes var palliative AND relative* AND home för insamling av vetenskapliga artiklar via fulltextdatabasen Electronic Library Information Navigator (ELIN) och databasen Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health (CINAHL). En systematisk kvalitetsgranskning gjordes på 15 vetenskapliga artiklar enligt modifierade kvalitetsgranskningsmallar efter förlagor av Forsberg och Wengström (2003) och Willman et al. (2006) och på basen av kvalitetsresultatet evidensgraderades de anhörigas till familjemedlem i det palliativa skedets omvårdnadsbehov. Tre omvårdnadsbehov som vilade på starkt vetenskapligt underlag framkom: att få professionellt stöd, att få avlastning som anhörig eller anhörigvårdare till en familjemedlem som vårdas palliativt i hemmet och att få information och undervisning om familjemedlemmens situation.

I arbetet med denna uppsats, har vi undersökt om brandväggar håller vad de lovar och om de i så fall ger full datasäkerhet. Vårt syfte är att, ur hemmaanvändarens perspektiv undersöka vad datasäkerhet innebär, hur hotbilden vid Internet-användning i hemmet ser ut och vad personliga brandväggar kan erbjuda för skydd. För att ta reda på detta gjorde vi följande frågeställningar: Vad är/innebär datasäkerhet? Vad skyddar en brandvägg mot? Vad skyddar brandväggen inte mot? För att besvara våra frågor har vi använt oss av tre metoder; litteraturstudie, test av tre stycken brandväggar och intervjuer med två personer med kunskaper inom datasäkerhet. Vi har med hjälp av metoderna kommit fram till att beroende på att en av de tre undersökta brandväggarna släppte igenom en trojan, trots att denna brandvägg sade sig stoppa sådana, så håller inte alla brandväggar vad de lovar. På grund av många användares omedvetenhet om farorna eller brist på insikt om sin egen utsatthet men även på grund av att hotbilden är så föränderlig, är det svårt, för att inte säga omöjligt att uppnå full datasäkerhet.

The aim of this study is to examine the collection One Thousand and One Nights (also: The Arabian Nights) from a european perspective, by comparing different european translations. The study focuses on three translations into Swedish from different periods of time and how the tales have changed in the translation process - depending on the prevailing line of approach and Western perceptions of Eastern standards. The thesis of the study is that Eastern culture, from a Western perspective, has been seen as exotic and different but not as a high literary culture and that this view has affected the translations into european languages. The study shows, among other things, that Western culture is many times considered normative in the translations and that the translators often give their own voices a prominent role, also that common Western notions of the East affects the translations.The word ?orientalism? is used frequently in the study and it refers primarily to the image of the Orient as it is described in Edward Saids' book Orientalism: as a Western construction whose main purpose is to strengthen its own conception of the Orient and thereby strengthen the Western identity as better than the Orient.

Automatic query expansion has long been studied in information retrieval research as a technique that deals with the fundamental issue of word mismatch between query and document. The purpose of this thesis is to compare the retrieval effectiveness of different strategies for automatic query expansion. The strategies are based on local analysis of the corpus and use statistical information from the local document set to extract terms that suppose to adapt themselves to each individual search and therefore appear to be searchonyms to the index terms. The strategies compared are: association clusters, metric cluster and scalar cluster. Baseline queries of 24 topics are expanded using terms from the different clusters and searches are made.

This thesis examines the scientific publishing in the subject area of evidence based practice EBP in social work. Issues are: How has this publishing evolved, separately and compared to the publishing about evaluation in social work? What authors/countries have produced the largest numbers of articles? What journals have published the largest numbers of articles? Which are the most frequent co-occurrences of a selection of terms? 161 records for articles from 50 different journals were selected from Social Services Abstracts using subject of journal and a query as criteria. For each year, the number of articles about evaluation in social work was larger than about EBP. A decline in the publishing about evaluation coincide with a growth in EBP after the year 2000.

Bakgrund: munvård är en grundläggande omvårdnadsåtgärd som bidrar till att förebygga respirator-relaterad lunginflammation, s.k. VAP (?ventilator-associated pneumonia?) och en rad diverse systemiska infektioner. Trots vikten med munvård och förekomsten av PM som beskriver utförande av munhygien på intensivvårdsavdelningar, så tycks det vara en lågprioriterad handling hos intensivvårdspatienter.Syfte: att beskriva sjuksköterskans inställning kring munvård hos patienter som vårdas på intensivvårdsavdelning.Metod: kvantitativ studie med beskrivande design som grundas på statistisk analys av data insamlade utifrån ett enkätformulär.Resultat: denna enkätstudie visar att sjuksköterskor prioriterar munvård högt men samtidigt tycker de att det delvis är en undersköterskeuppgift och delegerar ofta uppgiften. Telephone counselling has been around for more than forty years and remains a widely accepted communication support, both in the primary care and the outpa-tient departments of our hospitals. In many cases, this form of communication might be the only way in which the patient will have contact with the health ser-vices, primarily the nurse. In this study, the authors have chosen the word com-munication support as a generic name for the various technology tools, which are already present or in the future, might be an important link between the patient and the nurse. The aim of this study was to examine which communication sup-port that is available and patients´ perceptions of those and the patients´ percep-tions. Our patients can sometimes be affected by their illness, which means that their perception might be influenced and the advices or the prescriptions given by telephone will not be correctly perceived.

Denna uppsats handlar om skillnaden som uppstår mellan två filmer som är baserade på en och samma bok samt hur denna skillnad märks vad gäller den postkoloniala teorin. Filmerna och boken som har utgåtts från är Wuthering Heights (1939) av William Wyler, Wuthering Heights (2011) av Andrea Arnold och boken Svindlande höjder (1847) av Emily Brontë. De teorier som är använda som utgångspunkt för analysen är postkolonialism och intermedialitet. Analysen har en hermeneutisk synvinkel.Slutsatsen visar på att det finns många sätt man kan tolka en text. Hur man än väljer att göra det så gäller det att göra det lika ordentligt som Wyler och Arnold har gjort för att på så vis förmedla det syfte man vill få fram med filmen.

Title: How do music students with different genre backgrounds perceive the same music? In this paper I report a study about how music students with different genre background perceive the same music. I let twentyone classical music upper secondary school pupils and twentyone rock music upper secondary school pupils listen to ten short music pieces of different character and styles. While listening, they were asked to answer four questions about which instruments they could perceive, what they could tell about pulse, rhythm and beat in the music, which component they thought was the most important in the piece and what word they thought best described the feeling of the piece. All four questions had to be answered for each piece of music to facilitate analysis of differences connected to genre background in those answers.
