The aim of this Master?s thesis is to analyse how adult students in Swedish adult education seek information for school tasks. The focus is on how they use the public library and electronic information sources and their reflection on information and sources in this process. Also of interest in the study is the help they receive from staff in the public library and their teacher. Methods used in collecting and analysing data for this study were of qualitative nature.

This thesis aims at examining to what extent a few, algorithmically very easily extractable document features can be used to classify electronic documents according to genre. A set of experiments is therefore carried out, using only 11 such simple features in an attempt to classify 84 documents belonging to electronic academic journals into three manually identified genres: table of contents, article, and review. The 11 features are also divided into three sets, containing metrics of words and sentences; punctuation marks; and URL links, respectively. The performance when using these sets of features is then measured with regard to classification accuracy, using a k-NN classifier, four different values of k (1, 3, 5, 7), and both leave-one-out and 10-fold cross-validation. This master?s thesis is about freedom of information ideas in the European Union data retention directive, 2006/24/EC. The directive means that data about electronic communications services will be retentioned. The aim of the thesis is to examine what ideas related to freedom of information that appear in the directive and how these ideas belong to the ideology of freedom of information that is common within the library community and to the juridical restrictions. In the light of surveillance tendencies that have occurred over the last years, the most well-known is probably the USA Patriot Act, it is interesting to study how freedom of information ideas appears when surveillance is legislated.

The aim of this thesis is to accomplish a user study on how e-book users experience the electronic book, the e-book, as an instrument for reading fiction. The study is based upon qualitative interviews with twelve e-book users and a small survey carried out at the Stockholm City Library. The purpose is to identify the users' incentive for choosing the e-book as a medium for reading fiction, elucidate if and how the interface of the e-book affects the reading experience, and distinguish if there are any factors common to the users in their choice of reading e-books. How the users look upon the future of the e-book is also discussed. Among the people asked in the survey we note little if any demand for the e-book as an instrument for reading fiction.

Detta sätter press på företagen att tillmötesgå sin målgrupp för att vara konkurrenskraftiga. Det innebär att företag måste förstå hur kundvärde skapas i en onlinemiljö för att kunna tillgodose konsumentens krav och önskemål.

Uppsatsens syfte är undersöka hur herrtidningarna Café, Slitz och Moore skildrar maskuliniteter och vidare problematisera dessa. Detta görs med att titta närmare på begrepp som heteronormativitet och maskuliniteter. Uppsatsen bygger på en innehållsanalys av tre svenska herrtidningar från år 2002-2004. Först diskuteras innehållsanalys med inriktning på kritisk diskursanalys som metod. Sedan finns en genomgång av tidigare feministiska medieanalyser.

Att designa och konstruera processer för en specifik verksamhet kan vara både en omfattande ochkomplex utmaning. Det är viktigt att den person eller grupp som skall designa och konstrueraprocessen är lyhörd för verksamhetens krav och önskemål, samtidigt som det är av största vikt att dekrav och önskemål som uttalas är rimliga och går att omsätta i en verklig kontext. I den här uppsatsenhar jag undersökt hur en kundhanteringsprocess kan se ut och konstrueras, hos ett logistikföretag, sombåde utgår från verksamhetens krav och önskemål samt med stöd av befintliga modeller och teorierinom det processteoretiska området. Genom empirisk datainsamling samt insamling av teoretisktmaterial inom ämnesområdet har en huvudprocess bestående av tre delprocesser samt detaljeradebeskrivningar av processens aktiviteter konstruerats som tillsammans med verksamheten slutligenutvärderats. Vilket framgår av utvärderingen och resultatet av undersökningen är att vald metodik förkonstruktion av process samt val av insamlat empiriskt och teoretiskt material har lett till enkundhanteringsprocess som dels uppfyller verksamhetens krav och önskemål och som stöds avbefintliga modeller och teorier inom det processteoretiska området..

Development and construction of an electronic Breakout box is the main work for this thesis. The box is a part of a test system for the component Fuel Flow Transmitter and should convert signals to be suitable for a frequency counter. A previously constructed Breakoutbox for this purpose is being old and needed to be recreated. So SAAB Aerotech, Aircraft services, the company for the thesis work wanted to construct a new, more sustainable Breakoutbox adapted to a more modern technology. The signals to the box comes from the transmitter and should be converted to suitable signals for a frequency counter so it can show pulse and time difference between the signals.

The foundation for this thesis lies in whether or not, and how, the body representation in printed commercials, specific products directed to the body (shampoo, body lotion etc.), has changed during the last fifty years. Four years have been chosen because of the changes in society that we believe might have had an impact. The commercials that have been picked out are the ones that best represent the general view of the body. We have found that the changes when it comes to body presentation has followed the social development to a certain degree, but it is difficult to say how much the society has had an affect on the body ideal in advertising. Representations of the male body is something that has escalated since the early 70?s, fifteen years earlier few commercials was made with male models, and the few there were, never showed more than the face.

This report is on concrete work during the winter and is implemented on Peab?s behalf. The assignment was to describe the differences between a summer- and a winter casting. While it shows the complications that exists, it also show what aids are available, both electronic via computer and physical aids.The information that I have developed is originally from theory in books, information on the internet as well as practical experience from knowledgeable people that works in construction output. Other theories are those I have learned throughout the education to become a construction engineer, including all oral sources over the years.The results I have come up with, I hope will be able to help future construction projects in the planning phase of a winter casting.

This qualitative study examines if an interest in soccer can give the same meaningfulexperiences in a person's life as a religion would. Five soccer fans were interviewedregarding the meanings and impact of soccer in their lives. Two theories in the fields ofsport and religion were used to analyze the data: Antonovsky's sense of coherence (SOC)with its components meaningfulness, manageability and comprehensibility and Heelasand Woodheads "life-as" and "the subjective-life? derived from the concept "thesubjective turn". It was concluded that the interest in soccer affected the respondents?views of life.The respondents? personal identities were strongly associated with groupmembership, meaning that their interest in common with others was perceived to makeeveryday life meaningful and manageable.

Syftet med denna litteraturöversikt var att skapa en översikt över vad som kan ha betydelse för bärbara elektroniska teknikstöds användning som kompensatorisk åtgärd för vuxna personer med förvärvad hjärnskada. De 24 artiklar som ingick i studien analyserades med metoden innehållsanalys. Inklusionskriterier var artiklar utgivna efter år 2000 och vuxna försökspersoner. Analysen resulterade i fyra kategorier: användningsområden för elektroniska teknikstöd, design och funktion hos de elektroniska teknikstöden, omgivningens betydelse för användande och individuella förutsättningar för användande av elektroniska teknikstöd. Endast en artikel var skriven utifrån ett arbetsterapeutiskt perspektiv.

Elektroniska affärer innebär att affärssystem kopplas upp mot varandra i nätverk för att effektivisera överföringen av information. I dag skickar företag standardiserade meddelanden direkt mellan administrativa system för t.ex. order, lager och fakturering (OLF). Detta kallas EDI, Electronic Data Interchange, och följer i de flesta fall en standard för elektroniska meddelanden som kallas EDIFACT. Användningen av EDIFACT kräver mycket kunskap vilket ofta småföretag saknar.

Bullying is a significant workplace problem, a fact highlighted both by companies, government and social science. The purpose of this master thesis was to examine if workplace bullying is a result of group processes. This is a theory-based master thesis. A search of literature on bullying, mobbing and harassment was done in a database called ELIN, Electronic Library Information Navigator, connected to Lund University and 414 articles were singled out. The summary of the articles were studied and according to a list of criteria, I choose to study some of the articles in more depth.
