Loke Carlsson: Spelmusik ? Musikens funktioner i tre datorspelsserierDenna uppsats handlar om datorspelsmusik och syftet är att ta reda på vilka funktioner dennamusik har i datorspel. Först presenteras ett antal teorier om filmvetenskap. Med hjälp av dessateorier sammanställer jag sedan en metod för att analysera musiken i några få datorspel. Imetodkapitlet hittar man också en redogörelse för de grundläggande skillnader mellandatorspel och filmer när det gäller musik.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how activities in Elderly care matters to well-being among Elderly people, from both user perspective and staff perspective. The study is made out of a qualitative method, this to create a deep-going understanding of how the people participating in the investigation are experiencing the impact of activities on well-being from their unique situation. Personal interviews have been used as method. Six persons were participating, three Elderly persons and three persons working as staff. All interviews were made in a ?short-time? ward in the county of Västernorrland.The result of the investigation shows that the Elderly people that were interviewed not directly related the participation in activities to feelings of well-being.

The number of Elderly in Sweden is increasing due to improved living conditions and better medical care. It is important that society adapts to the increase and begins to work preventively to reduce the costs of the increase. An important aspect is the Elderly accommodation, the cost of health care in specific accommodation is almost twice as high as those for ordinary housing. Therefore, it is important that we availability adapt dwelling to allow older people to live in ordinary housing for as long as they wish, instead of moving to assisted living before they need it. If we can fulfil the Elder?s needs with home care instead, society can save a lot of money.In this report, three different forms of housing has undergone accessibility increases and been inventoried and analysed.

Denna studie har undersökt hur en spelares spelupplevelse påverkas av tillgången eller frånvaron av diskreta navigationshjälpmedel i en stor, öppen, virtuell 3D-värld. För att undersöka detta har en spelmodifikation skapats till spelet The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, som två grupper av testdeltagare har fått spela med olika tillgång till navigationshjälpmedel. 8 personer har deltagit i testet och blivit intervjuade angående sin upplevda spelupplevelse. Resultatet har därefter analyserats och jämförts med hjälp av Grounded Theory. Resultatet har varit oklart men tyder inte på att frånvaron av diskreta navigationshjälpmedel markant förbättrade spelupplevelsen.

Although Sweden is considered to be in the lead concerning an open-minded perception of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) population, very little attention has been given to the Elderly within this target group. The Elder LGBT population?s got special needs that haven?t been made sufficiently visible, neither as a research field, from social institutions nor from the LGBT movement itself. This study has described the target group's specific needs, based on the results of a focus group consisting of older LGBT people. Their experiences and stories have given an idea of what adjustments must be made to satisfy their specific needs.

In light of health scandals and intense debate in the media about the Elderly, the authors investigates two Swedish newspaper and their depiction of Elder care in Sweden. Using Faircloughs three-dimensional model and critical discourse analysis, it is investigated if there is a more prominent discourse and if so the impact of globalization on this discourse concerning swedish Elderly care. A sample of a total of ten articles in the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter is analyzed. The authors found that older people who are granted home help or place of accommodation rarely make their voices heard. Rarely were also relatives of residents given the opportunity to speak.

My purpose is to describe and analyse how care managers experience their position as middle managers in the public sector. I have used a qualitative interview method to answer this question and also to capture my six interview persons opinion and understanding of their own position as middle managers. From my six interviews I noticed some difference in their opinions about how it is being a care manger. The results show that the role as care managers have challenges such as to intertwine their own notion how the caring of the Elder should be with strict politic decisions. Other challenges are the limitation of economic recourses and reorganisations.

Det innebär till exempel att den får publiken eller spelaren att känna vissa känslor, att den presenterar underliggande narrativa element eller markerar specifika rörelser i bilden. Syftet med den här rapporten är att jämföra spelmusik och filmmusik ur ett narrativt perspektiv. I denna jämförande studie intervjuas åtta testpersoner som får spela en spelsekvens och titta på en kort film tagna från spelet The Elder Scroll V: Skyrim (2011), båda med musik speciellt skriven för undersökningen. Det som sedan utvärderas är om testpersonerna upplever några skillnader i det musikaliska narrativet och i så fall på vilket sätt de gjorde det.

This study will examine if caregivers, working with people with dementia problems, is in need of support and in what way they see how the support should be designed. Previous research shows that there are many factors in Elderly care that affect all of the caregivers. Working with people in this sort if dependence, requires a lot of the caregivers, both mentally and physically. To study if the caregivers consider themselves to be in need of support, and in what way they see how the support should be designed, the study employs a qualitative approach using to types of interviews, one focus group with four assistant nurses, and two individual in-depth interviews with the administrative personnel and one nurse. The results show that the need for support for the caregivers exists. Caregivers working with people with dementia problems, daily face difficulties, some more difficult to handle than others.

The aim of this qualitative study was to explore which inner conceptions about the abused older women the professional social workers had and how they experienced the enconter of an abused old woman in an intimate partner relation. The theoretical background is social construction by Berger and Luckmann. This theory was uset to analyze the transcribed interviews. This study is based on nine interviews with five professionals in social services, three volunteers from the voluntary sector and one social worker who worked in a community based support group for abused older women. The result of this study shows that older women were often abused, by a relative they were dependent on, in their home.

Background: In Sweden, heart transplantation increases as a method of treatment. Patients undergoing heart transplantation require special needs of care. Nurses have to increase knowledge about experiences that these patients percieve to conform the health care in the future. In this study, health science has been used as a theoretical frame of reference which includes a patient perspective.Aim: The aim of this study was to describe experiences among patients, Elder than 18 years old, undergoing heart transplantation.Method: The method was a qualitative descriptive study with a context analysis based on ten scientific articles and an autobiography corresponding with the aim of the study.Results: The results of this study showed six themes about experiences that emerged among patients undergoing heart transplantation: feeling of vitality, existential crisis, importance of social support, destructive feelings, capacity of going on and the experience of quality of life.Conclusion: It?s not a guarantee that the quality of life will increase among patients undergoing heart transplantation and they need a specialist trained nurse available to support at all hours..

AbstractHåkan Ljung: Förklassik för knäppinstrument. En studie kring en sonat för cittra av Johan Wikmanson. Uppsala universitet: Institutionen för musikvetenskap, C-uppsats för 60 poäng, ht 2005.My main purpose with this thesis is to highlight a piece of music written for a relative of the 18th century cittern. This sonata, composed around 1780, is a well thought composition written in a pre-classical style.  The composer of this music is Johan Wikmanson (1753-1800) who is mostly known for his string quartets, songs and piano pieces. Because of the importance for the music as a whole, one task is to reconstruct the second movement from severe errors. This was carried out by doing an overall analysis of the two movements themes, motives and structures.Since many arrangements for plucked instruments occurred by other composer's works, my second aim is try to tie this Sonate as an original version written by Wikmanson himself. As a part of my main purpose, the reader will also receive a short presentation of the Swedish cittern designed by the Royal instrument maker Johan Öberg the Elder (1727?-1779) with a description of its connection with the manuscript. .

The purpose of this study is to investigate the young caregivers thoughts of the Elderly caretaker. A qualitative method was chosen when interviewing young caregivers in order to get an insight of how they perceive and speak of the Elders. The main questions of the study are: How do the caregivers believe that the Elders perceive their day-to-day life and situation? Is it possible to distinguish if the young caregiver?s thoughts about the Elders affect their work with the Elderly caretaker? Is it possible to notice any common factors that the young caregivers perceive as important in their work with the Elderly caretaker? The criteria for inclusion in this study are caregivers aged 18 to 25, who are working with Elderly at special accommodation. The theories chosen for this study are the salutogenetic perspective, the activity theory and the theory of gerotranscendence.
