Studien utvärderar tv-programmet Tungan rätt i mun, som är ett retorikprogram för målgruppen mellanstadiet. Programmet framtogs under hösten 2011 av Utbildningsradion (UR) med syftet att användas som lärandematerial i svenska grundskolor då ämnet retorik ska bli mer framträdande i den nya kursplanen. I undersökningen utförs en kvantitativ enkätundersökning av sammanlagt 84 barn på två mellanstadiefritidsgårdar; i Stockholm och på Öland. Barnen delades in i två lika stora grupper, en kontrollgrupp fick fylla i enkäten utan att ha sett programmet och en experimentgrupp fick först titta och sedan fylla i samma enkät. Denna enkät bestod av fyra frågor med öppna svar som rättades inför analysen med hjälp av ett rättningsschema framtaget tillsammans med en specialpedagog för mellanstadiet.Syftet med utvärderingen av programmet var att se om barnen tar till sig de konkreta retoriktips de får av programledaren Elaine Eksvärd, legitimerad retorikkonsult.

This academic essay explores the possibilities to knowledge of God in the thought of Thomas Aquinas. The essay takes its departure from question 12 in the Summa Theologiae, specifically articles 12 and 13 that deal with natural knowledge of God and supernatural knowledge, respectively. It also presents objections made by modern philosophers against these ways of knowledge along with a rebuttal of these objections. Lastly, a conclusion is offered and ends with a reflection on how Aquinas' teaching on human knowledge of God in earthly existence compares with his teaching on the knowledge human beings will have in heaven and what consequences that has for our present knowledge..

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to investigate the reading habits of six men who do not read fiction. The reason for my interest is the fact that men statistically read less fiction than women, and that there are few existing studies of this subject. The study investigates why these men do not read fiction, their attitudes towards literature, their reading habits, their leisure-time interests and if they experience fiction from other activities. Furthermore the study includes a discussion of whether or not there might be a connection between the men?s reading habits and their identity as men, as well as a discussion of all of the above in relation to their social background.

Sammanfattning Elaine Kotte, Progressiva genusglasögon ? En komparativ studie med den svenska och den brasilianska läroplanen i blickfånget (Gender viewed through bifocals ? A comparative study of the Brazilian and Swedish National Curricula) Syftet med uppsatsen är att uppnå en djupare förståelse för skolpolitiska jämställdhetsfrågor genom en komparativ studie mellan den svenska (Lpo 94) och den brasilianska läroplanen (PCN). Resultatet av jämförelsen visar att ländernas läroplaner har en klar intention att förmedla jämställdhet som ett kunskapsområde och demokratisk värdegrund. Däremot finns det likheter, skillnader samt omfattning i läroplanernas och kursplanernas förmedling för måluppfyllelse mellan länderna. Medan riktlinjerna beskrivs i koncisa och allmänna ordalag i Lpo 94 är de mera övergripande och detaljerade i PCN. Jag har även, genom digitala enkätintervjuer med lärarutbildare i Sverige och Brasilien, fått en begränsad inblick i lärarutbildningens insatser kring genusfrågeställningar relaterade till läroplanens jämställdhetsriktlinjer i respektive land. You can only speculate on how large number of unreported cases is among abused men. The international studies highlight that the abused men feel ashamed of having been subjected to violence by a female partner.I have been based this essay on two theoretical premises, Per Isdal theory of "violence perspective" and Elaine Bergqvist's definition of the suppression technique.The study was conducted through a qualitative content analysis.

The aim of this thesis is to describe and compare the cataloguing rules for sound recordings: the rules used by a specialised archive and common libraries respectively. We will put the rules in relation to purposes (the objectives of a bibliographic system) and principles (directives that guide the construction of a bibliographic language). The first question to be answered is in which way the set of rules used by a specialised archive differ from the one used by common libraries. The second question examines if and how the differences can be derived from purposes and principles. The sets of rules studied are KRS (chapter 6) and the Swedish version of the IASA Cataloguing Rules (1999), worked out by the National Archive of Sound and Moving Images (SLBA).

The object of this essay is the Swedish author Agnes von Krusenstjerna's novels Ninas dagbok (The diary of Nina) and Helenas första kärlek (Helena's first love) as well as the cycle novel Fröknarna von Pahlen (The misses von Pahlen). The purpose is to explore her use of the discourse of girls' fiction, which I analyse by the depiciton of women's sexual awakening, and her depiction of sadomasochism. The theories of Elaine Showalter, Jacques Derrida, Michel Foucault and Judith Butler are used.Women's sexual awakening is depicted similarly in the novels but more explicitly in Fröknarna von Pahlen. In Ninas dagbok and Helenas första kärlek there is an eroticization of dominance and submission, which is not explicitly sadomasochistic. In Fröknarna von Pahlen, sadomasochism is explicitly described as a "perverted" sexuality and reveals the inequality in the violent sexuality, which is described as "normal".

This thesis aims at exploring a national collaborative gateway-service, PictureAustralia, hosted at the National Library of Australia. This will be done by means of investigating some underlying principles for descriptive standards and conventions as of the library discourse which is the objective of bibliographic control and access. The reason to do this is to bring some main features of these principles into the context of a cross-institutional cooperation between libraries, galleries/museums and archives in a picture database service. The attention will lay on the objectives of what functions the system is designed to perform to give access, as defined by Elaine Svenonius in the Intellectual Foundations of Information Organization 2000, and how these objectives will affect this particular database-service collocating performance, which is a system- and logical approach. Though, this study will be done in an explorative and qualitative way, by a case-study, which is to examine some sample metadata records emanated from different institutions in this project.

The Aquatic Ape theory was first formulated by Alister Hardy in year 1960. All from the beginning the theory has been criticized, ridiculed, ignored and a source to strong feelings in the anthropological community. The purpose of this essay is to investigate why the Aquatic Ape theory is so controversial and why it is understood so differently by scientists. After interviews with Swedish scientists and the general community, and after reading of anthropological books, I have tried to show that the aquatic ape-coldness depends on it challenging nature against the anthropological paradigm, which describes human beings as strong, hunting creatures who can live in any environment. The Aquatic Ape theory - on the other hand - picks out one of all these environments and says: "here has our evolution occurred: we have been aquatic apes".

Vi har gjort en kvalitativ och en kvantitativ studie av ett styrelsemöte. Studien bestod av en observation, en enkätundersökning samt två intervjuer. Vår teoretiska referensram består främst av härskartekniker identifierade av Berit Ås och Elaine Bergkvist men vi diskuterar också främjartekniker samt hur både härskar- och främjartekniker kan kopplas till Foucaults och Habermas tolkningar av makt i förhållande till möten.
