This report studies how the divergence between men and women is manifested in the physical space and how the representation of room recreates this divergence. Spaces are coded and women have traditionally been associated with private space and men with public space, leading to that the home is encoded as female space and public squares as male space. Thereby women lack a natural place in public space. The National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (Boverket) wants to change this situation by enforcing safety-creating measures based on gender equality theories.I have studied what potential risks the project initiated by Boverket as well as discuss the potential problems with representation. Can representation be used without freezing the space? I also search for methods for working with a gender perspective without reproducing gender stereotypes and roles and avoiding encoding the private as female and public as male? Also I use a public seminar with urban planners, artists and architects to retrieve how we work with these issues today.I conclude that city planning needs to incorporate new strategies of thought that does not divide space, e.g.

Stadsdelen Väster i Lund har dålig tillgång till grönytor och en tydlig avsaknad av ett ordentligt stadsdelscentrum. Här finns dock stadens gamla Folkets park med potential att bli en grön mötesplats. Syftet med detta arbete är att göra en analys av Folkparkens potential och se till hur parken skulle kunna bli en mer attraktiv och funktionell samlingspunkt. Delvis baseras arbetet på empiriskt material i form av observationer och en enkätundersökning för att få fram vad Folkparkens besökare har för vanor och önskningar för området delvis baseras arbetet på kommunala dokument, tidigare inlämnade förslag, en jämförelse med andra fungerande parker och tidigare gjorda arbeten som berör planering av stadsrum vars teorier jag applicerat i mitt arbete. Resultatet av mitt arbete är utformat som en sammanfattning av inhämtat underlag, vilken jag sedan baserar min diskussion på.

Humanity stands before a huge challenge to lower its emissions of carbon dioxide and its use of energy at the same time as the global population is rising and the developing countries are being industrialized. A lot of newly built buildings are due to this challenge, designed to be more energy efficient but also use renewable energy resources instead of pollutant fossil fuels .Solar energy is one of the purest forms of energy that exists in abundant amounts, which is why it is most likely that it could come to play a major part in the future energy market. The main purpose of this report is to investigate the possibility to implement a sustainable energy system with solar thermal heat and  heat storage as main sources of energy in the neighborhood ?kvarteret Lagern?, which is the area where the old football stadium ?Rasunda Stadion? was located. New developments within different heat storage techniques have opened up new approaches to enable buildings an all year round heat supply from solar energy. This report will focus on heat storage in boreholes. At the present here is only a preliminary plan of how the neighborhood is supposed to be designed.

Forskningen har under det senaste årtiondet visat på att tetracykliner har antiinflammatoriska effekter i kroppen. Syftet med den här litteraturstudien är att undersöka vilken potential tetracykliner har som antiinflammatoriskt läkemedel.Genom modifiering av strukturen hos tetracyklinmolekylen kan dess egenskaper förändras. Till exempel kan förmågan att binda till och tas upp i mikrober elimineras. Det har framställts kemiskt modifierade tetracykliner (CMT) som saknar antimikrobiell verkan men som fortfarande kan binda till endogena substrat. Användning av CMT skulle kunna eliminera risken för resistensutveckling då mikrober ej påverkas.Tetracykliner har visats verka inhibitoriskt på matrix metalloproteinaser, enzymer som har med reglering av extracellulärt matrix att göra.

Idag kännetecknas det svenska jordbruket framför allt av storskaliga, effektiviserade och specialiserade lantbruk med behov av flera energikrävande produktionsmedel. Negativa konsekvenser av detta lantbruk är bland annat en minskad variation av livsmiljöer i jordbrukslandskapet, en minskad biologisk mångfald och därmed en försvagning av ekosystemtjänster knutna till jordbruket. Ekosystemtjänster möjliggör liv på vår jord genom att långsiktigt understödja tillgången till framför allt mat, dricksvatten, fiber och virke samt reglera klimat och luftkvalitet. Ett uthålligt lantbruk är ett system som gynnar och använder sig av ekosystemtjänster och biologisk mångfald för att produktionen ska fungera. Forskning visar att det finns en högre artrikedom på småskaliga ekologiska gårdar än på större konventionella gårdar.

The aim of this thesis is to study social tagging in an OPAC by looking at the tags of Ann Arbor District Library?s catalogue. In this thesis I analyse the possibilities of social tagging. The main questions to be answered are what is the distribution of tags in different categories, what are the differences between fiction and non-fiction and how do the social tags differ from the terms of the professional indexing practice. Studying 500 tags I find that subject matter was the most frequent category for tags assigned to fiction and non-fiction.

Ett begränsat utbud av växter kan antas påverka privatpersoners trädgårdsintresse negativt. För norra Norrland begränsas utbudet av lignoser till dem som har tillräcklig härdighet. Det kan dock antas att fler lignoser utöver de som säljs idag, har potential att användas i denna del av landet. Detta examensarbete har som syfte att ta reda på hur försäljningen av lignoser i norra Norrland ser ut idag. Vidare undersöks också om en utveckling av lignosutbudet pågår och hur arbetet med denna utveckling i så fall ser ut. Vem eller vad som kan påverka så att fler härdiga lignoser kommer ut på marknaden har varit en central frågeställning.

Det finns idag fler personer som heter Johan som är VD i börsnoterade bolag än vad det finns kvinnliga VD:ar i Sverige. Uppsatsen är skriven om ett stort svenskt företag i näringslivet. Syfte med studien var att utvärdera varför kvinnliga chefer på höga positioner inom ett större svenskt företag i näringslivet har valt att sluta samt vad företaget kan förbättra för att bli en mer jämställd och attraktiv arbetsplats för kvinnor i chefsbefattningar. Forskning visar på att det idag 2013 fortfarande finns en hel del ojämställda arbetsplatser. Via kvalitativa semi-strukturerade intervjuer med sju kvinnliga före detta chefer på företaget har en bild av vad detta kan bero på skapats.

This thesis evaluates the environmental performance of six different fish farming systems. The thesis is part of the network group ?Hållbar fiskförsörjning I Stockholms län? (HFFS) which tries to increase the domestic and regional production of fish in Stockholm and move to a more sustainable supply in the Stockholm county. Two of the chosen systems; pangasius from Vietnam and salmon from Norway are delivering a substantial part of the fish consumed in Stockholm today, although they are very different when it comes to system characteristics. One system, arctic char with conventional feed, is produced in a fairly small scale in the north of Sweden, while the three remaining systems are viewed upon as possible options to supply Stockholm with fish in the future.

In recent years, the penetration of new players on the telecom market hasdrastically increased the work pace, affecting both design and production. Inthis report the technical and economical potential of a DC/DC converterplatform is investigated, in order to shorten the time of the design process.This is done in comparison with the present discrete type designs. PowerIntegrations offers a product, the DPA-Switch?, enabling this.By developing a wide DC/DC converter platform based on the DPA-Switch?,many advantages are gained. The component count is decreased by up to48 % and the yield increases by up to 2.9 % which in all yields a costreduction by up to 43 % or ?390 000 for 100 000 manufactured units.

En bättre värld genom faith? En studie om hur organisationen DIAN Interfidei arbetar för att skapa fredliga relationer i Indonesien [A better world through faith? A study about how the organization DIAN Interfidei works to pursue peaceful relations in Indonesia]. The aim of this study has been to analyze how an Indonesian NGO called DIAN Interfidei works with peacebuilding through faith in order to bring harmony between the various ethnic and religious groups of people that inhabits the nation. Through interviews and the study of Interfideis own source-material could their methods and problems be explored, and later on related to contemporary research in the field of conflict-resolution and peace-making. The conclusions that could be drawn from this study is that Interfidei primarily targets two specific groups (teachers of religion in schools and future religious leaders) in their programmes, because these groups in turn have the potential to affect several people in their own work.

Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att utreda och skapa förståelse för begreppetCorporate Citizenship och dess framväxt från ett strategiskt perspektiv, samt attstudera hur och varför företag arbetar med Corporate Citizenship. Genomförande: En litteraturgenomgång inom området Corporate Citizenship har genomförts.

With this paper the aim is to find out whether there are any differences in how five students from the north part of Africa structures their tales in comparison with the Nordic tale "The emperor?s new clothes". The purpose is to look at how the genre pedagogy can be said to relate to these differences. What happens to the "deviant" structures?Based on literature and research on the subject, I have concluded that there are certain patterns of how a tale "should" be structured based on Western standards.

The focus of this thesis is on what is considered to be a suitable foster home. For the study to be carried out an application had to be made to get access to the foster home assessments in a medium-sized municipality in Sweden. With the support of attachment theory and theory of standards different categories have been picked out and analyzed in foster home assessements that have been approved. The conclusion to what is considered to be a suitable foster home is a complex issue, as there are many factors that are interacting. Social workers seem to focus on the importance of a family?s ability to provide some kind of stability and security for a child who is considered to be placed within their home.

The essay deals with the subject about branding and the communicative process that entails between businesses and consumers. The purpose of this paper is to increase understanding of the opportunities and risks of brand building through sponsorship and Co-Branding. This descriptive analysis is made by highlighting the partnership between two strong brands in the Swedish market, Åbro & AIK, and how internal and external associations related to their impact on brand equity. The study has led to the conclusion that the sponsorship should be seen as synonymous with Co-branding, ie. a synergy between two or more brands.
