The aim of this study about wind power planning in forest was to examine the factors and restrictions, which represent technical limitations, biodiversity, tourism and amount of energy for wind farms in Kronoberg County. Suitable areas for wind power were identified from the collected information about planning principles and potential conflicts. From the suitable areas the potential energy gain is calculated. Methods used were mainly a literature review, interviews with experts and practitioners, GIS analysis and a rough calculation of the energy gain. The section of information and facts describes in general wind power planning and possible conflicts.

Dagens urbaniseringstakt innebär att majoriteten av alla svenskar nu bor i städer. Detta ställer stora krav på politiker och tjänstemän att skapa goda livsmiljöer med hänsyn till de tre välkända hållbarhetsaspekterna; ekologisk, social och ekonomisk. För att möjliggöra en hållbar stadsutveckling gäller det bland annat att; identifiera vilka problem som aktiviteterna i staden orsakar, sätta upp en vision om hur man vill att en mer hållbar stad ska se ut, därefter gäller det att bryta ned visionen i delmål som är väldefinierade och förankrade bland både politiker, tjänstemän och innevånare, sist och slutligen gäller det att ha en arbetsplan och även en strategi för uppföljning om målen nås. Arbetet med hållbar stadsutveckling fortgår hela tiden utifrån de rådande förutsättningarna, det går inte att uppnå ett tillstånd då allt blivit hållbart. Med bakgrund av detta har Regeringen tillsatt Delegationen för hållbara städer, som år 2008-2010 delade ut ekonomiskt stöd till investerings- och planeringsprojekt i Sverige med hållbarhetsambitioner.

Perchlorate and chlorate are naturally occurring in the atmosphere, from here it sediments into groundwater and soil. The pollution is increased by discharges of perchlorate and chlorate from agriculture and paper mills. Bacteria capable of reducing perchlorate and chlorate to chloride and oxygen can be used to get rid of these contaminants. However an anaerobic environment needs to be sustained in order for this reaction to be used. For this reduction to work in an aerobic environment as well, a greater knowledge of the reducing enzymes, regulating factors and their corresponding genes is needed.

Efficient energy use in the housing sector is crucial for achieving a sustainable society. The expansion of this sector only represents a fraction of the existing houses, hence it?s within the existing houses the potential for energy savings lie. The limit for mercury in fish, set by health authorities, is exceeded in about half of the lakes in Sweden. Methyl mercury (MeHg) is the most toxic form of mercury and accumulates in fish. Therefore transformation of inorganic mercury (Hg) to methylmercury (MeHg) is an important process that we need to understand in order to possibly counteract the negative effects of mercury in the environment. The seasonal dynamics of mercury biogeochemistry is likely of great importance for the accumulation of MeHg in the aquatic food web. In thesis the chemical speciation and transformations of Hg and MeHg in bottom waters and sediments is followed in Ängessjön, a small lake located on the east coast in the middle of Sweden. The lake is not directly affected by any industrial pollution and concentrations of Hg in the sediment reflect the atmospheric deposition in this area, as well as processes taking place along the hydrological pathways from soil to lake. Samples from sediment, bottom- and streamwater were collected in average every second month during the period Feb.

Project Safe Sleeping Position (SSP) contains all parts in a product development phase. The project comprises the whole cycle from idea to a complete product where all aspects are included. The scope is to develop an innovative solution for a common known problem and work with all parts within the man-machine-way. The result is an inflatable product which secures a child in the correct way for the seatbelt to work properly in the rearseat of a car. Ergonomics, technical extent, usability, design, construction, product solutions and market potential are some of all parts witch the project includes.

Do new, attractive neighborhoods meet the requirements of being socially sustainable? This essay is based on the potential conflicts between the pursuit of social sustainability, while the theory of the creative class influence city planning. Social sustainability is difficult to measure, but implies broadly that everyone should have equal rights and opportunities. A city or region that aims to attract a certain type of people by providing what they ask for, might pay less attention and spend less resources on the rest of the population. Socially sustainable - for whom? The new district Hyllie in southern Malmö stands in focus, and the paper seeks to identify how different operators in Malmö defines the concept of social sustainability, how it is implemented in the design of Hyllie, and if any potential conflicts may arise.Interviews with the following informants; representants from the Office for City Planning in Malmö, the nonprofit organization Sustainable Development Skåne, the Commission for a Socially Sustainable Malmö and the company Skanska Öresund have constituted the main methodology, among with reading and analyzing existing documents and policies relating to the development of Hyllie.

Även om näringsidkare ofta har möjlighet att själva ta tillvara på sina intressen, behöver de ett visst skydd. Vilka dessa skydd är och mot vilka missförhållanden näringsidkare skall skyddas ämnar denna uppsats utreda.Huvudprincipen i avtalsrätten är att avtal skall hållas och att parterna fritt får avtala vad det önskar. För att skydda part som intar en underlägsen ställning har dessa principer lättats upp och skyddsprinciper vuxit fram. Skyddsprinciperna har till syfte att skydda parts intressen när behov föreligger.

The focus of this thesis is on what is considered to be a suitable foster home. For the study to be carried out an application had to be made to get access to the foster home assessments in a medium-sized municipality in Sweden. With the support of attachment theory and theory of standards different categories have been picked out and analyzed in foster home assessements that have been approved. The conclusion to what is considered to be a suitable foster home is a complex issue, as there are many factors that are interacting. Social workers seem to focus on the importance of a family?s ability to provide some kind of stability and security for a child who is considered to be placed within their home.

Previous studies of central tire inflation (CTI) in truck transport of roundwood have shown potential benefits to include more even wood flow and reduced road damage. The greatest benefits are found to be during periods of low bearing capacity such as spring thaw. No previous studies have examined geographical variations in the potential benefit of CTI-equipped trucks. The aim of the study was to develop and use a simple method for geographically prioritizing the use of CTI-equipped trucks within a forest company´s sector of activity.The host company for the study was Holmen Skog. The area studied consisted of Holmen Skog?s entire sector of activity extending from the province of Västerbotten to the province of Småland.

The political campaigns of 2010 have the potential to be the first where a new channel for political communication has the potential to make a difference ? the social media. This paper aims to describe in what ways a Member of Parliament, Nina Larsson (FP), together with the PR-agency Hello Clarice are using social media to conduct political campaigning on the web. It also aims to study if the professional consultants of Hello Clarice have any influence over Nina Larsson?s political communication.The theoretical framework which is the base for this study are theories of an extended public sphere in the age of mediation.

Syftet med denna undersökning är att undersöka hur svenska folkets köttkonsumtion utvecklats sedan 1990- talet, och diskutera om denna konsumtion är hållbar ur ett miljömässigt, socialt och ekonomiskt perspektiv. Ett andra syfte är att undersöka vad som gjorts och vilka ambitioner som finns inom svensk politik för att främja en mer hållbar konsumtion. För att nå detta syfte har tre forskningsfrågor formulerats. Vilka miljö- och hälsoeffekter har köttkonsumtion? Är svenska folkets köttkonsumtion hållbar ur ett miljömässigt, socialt och ekonomiskt perspektiv? Vilka är regeringens strategier och ambitioner för att främja en hållbar konsumtion?Undersökningen visar att svenskar äter mer kött än någonsin tidigare.

The Internet provides the common user with a variety of both traditional and non-traditional news sources, and a vast range of possibilities to contribute to the flow of information. By their participation in the production of information ordinary citizens can sometimes function as non-traditional news sources them selves and reach a potentially unlimited audience. The interactive nature of the Internet blurs the line between producers and consumers, and challenges traditional definitions of what counts as "news" as well as who qualifies as a "journalist". The main purpose of this thesis is to examine the potential consequences of this decentralization regarding the information behaviour of newspaper journalists and their perception of their professional role. The study consists of qualitative interviews with six journalists, employed by four of the leading Swedish newspapers, and a review of earlier research in the field.
