Companies have in the past decades changed fromtraditional manufacturing organizations into serviceorganizations. For these service organizationsinformation and competence have become animportant resource. The traditional view oninformation is that an employee use and search forinformation to reduce uncertainty for their decisionmaking. Even though information is strategicallyimportant for organizations, information is not valuedin any way. Hence, this thesis aims to valueinformation in terms of the utility it brings to theorganization.The conclusion is that four factors are important whenvaluing information in terms of utility.

Uppsatsen gör en cost-utitlity-analys av den ickefarmokologiska hypertonibehandling som genomförts vid Vindelns hälsocenter på individer där traditionell behandling inte haft önskvärd effekt på blodtrycket. Syftet med detta arbete är att studera finansialiseringens spridning och kopplingen mellan processer och strukturer inom finansialiserings-teori och Human Resource Management (HRM). Detta genom att studera en organisation och dess HR-praktik i jämförelse med ovan nämnda teorier. De två teoretiska perspektiven används för att illustrera vilka konsekvenser som kan tydliggöras för arbetstagare och organisation. I studien undersöks en HR-verksamhet på den svenska arbetsmarknaden där det empiriska materialet består av kvalitativa intervjuer med representanter från organisationens HR-funktioner. Studien har ett abduktivt förhållningssätt där underlaget bygger på en teoretisk förförståelse samtidigt som en lägre grad av standardisering i intervjuerna används för att låta det studerade fältet styra den empiriska bilden.

The purpose of this Master?s Thesis is to examine the information use and information behavior of the scientists at the company ?Forskningsbolaget?. For this purpose an Information Audit was carried out using both interviews with six managers and a questionnaire, which was sent out to the entire population of 213 scientists. After finding out what information the scientists use and how they obtain it the aim was to answer the question of to what extent the company?s Information Centre can meet these needs.

Antidumpning är ett aktuellt ämne som ökat i omfattning under senare tid och som sedermera påverkar handelsflödet mellan länder i världen. I denna uppsats skildras EU:s antidumpningspolitik, från anmälan om dumpning till slutgiltiga åtgärder, problem och tänkbara effekter. Vidare kartläggs EU:s antidumpningsåtgärder mot asiatiska cykelproducenter samt vilka effekter dessa resulterar i. De länder som ingår i undersökningen är Kina, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesien, Malaysia och Thailand. Resultatet överensstämmer med de antaganden om importminskning, handelsomfördelning och prisökningar som tidigare forskning kommit fram till även om de inte är generellt applicerbara på alla länder i undersökningen då stora variationer förekommer..

The aim of this study is to examine the information behavior of younger seniors with a special focus on the Internet. Using a qualitative method consisting of a case study, including observations, diaries, questionnaires, and information diaries, we were able to compare the information behavior of the seniors in their use of the Internet, with the information behavior in their everyday life. The result of the study shows that the respondents led very active lives and used many different information sources in everyday life. They did not only seek information, but also assimilated it, often with a purpose to mediate it to other people. The motives behind the information use in everyday life were mainly connected to their life situations.

In this essay I examine the causal relationship between confidence in institutions and growth in Sweden 1989-2002. By examining the causal relationship between these two variables, valuable indicators of the causal relationship between trust and growth can be obtained. The institutions which are used in this essay are chosen according to the theory on institutions for public administration building trust and social capital. The chosen institutions are primary schooling, the police and medical service. A Granger causality model is used to measure the causal relation and the results from the tests show that there is no causal relationship between growth and confidence in institutions.

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the most common economic effects of countries pursuing trade facilitation. Trade flows are constrained by non-tariff barriers and through trade facilitation these barriers can be decreased. We will study the effects of trade facilitation from a theoretical perspective and evaluate a number of empirical studies. Several different trade barriers will be identified as well as those regions and countries that will gain the most from trade facilitation. We draw the conclusion thatlarge gains would prevail for all countries and that the consumers, businesses and the state all benefit from trade facilitation.

What is an economic crime? Who is an economic criminal? How do we speak of the phenomenon and what does they way we speak mean? This thesis gives an introduction to securitization in general and the tranching of collateralized debt obligations in particular. It does this by using a firm-value model to simulate the underlying portfolio via monte-carlo simulations.The simulations in turn give a loss-distribution from which the various tranchings of the CDO?s are derived. To get an understanding of the influence of different variables involved in the tranching the simulations are repeated several times where the portfolio variables are changed to generate different tranchings. This to give a understanding of the influence different variables have on the tranching and consequently risks involved in CDO?s in particular but also general risks and problems of securitizations..

Uppsatsens utgångspunkt är att utforska olika tolkningar av begreppet hållbar utveckling och undersöka hur dessa har bidragit till att forma olika inriktningar inom hållbar stadsbyggnad. Utifrån olika tolkningar av hållbar utveckling, och inriktningar inom hållbar stadsbyggnad, skapas två idealtyper - en ekonomisk och en ekologisk. Dessa ligger till grund för konstruktion av ett  idéanalysinstrument, ett instrument som ska kunna användas för att analysera vilka idéer om hållbar utveckling som genomsyrar stadsbyggnadsprojekt med ett uttalat fokus på hållbar stadsbyggnad.
