Monster fyller en väldigt viktig roll i dagens skräckfilm och skräckspel där en av deras största uppgifter är att vara skrämmande. Denna uppsats är en studie som fokuserar på hur man designar skrämmande monster inom spel och film. Vi har, med hjälp av teoretiska tolkningar, tagit reda på faktorer som kan påverka vad människor ser som monster samt hur man kan göra monstret skrämmande på en kognitiv nivå. Exempel på sådana här faktorer är kultur, etnicitet, religion. Även sexism och rasism har en betydelse i detta samband.

During the three first centuries A.D the cult to roman emperor was practiced over the absolute majority of the known world. It was based on the idea of the deified ruler, where religion was used as a way of legitimizing a social position of an absolute few. It arrived from below but was promoted and spread from above as a way of governmental control. During the same period of time did a new aristocratic social group emerge in remote Scandinavia that eagerly sought new ways to identify themselves and their newly found social standing. With a base consisting of an economic surplus they wanted to create an acceptance for their new way of life and thus in doing so change the very foundation and core beliefs of their own society.The central theme of this study is the cultural exchange that took place between these two cultural spheres and mainly of the effect that the cult to the roman emperor had on the emergence and identification process of the Scandinavian aristocracy..

Förskolor ska ha en likabehandlingsplan från och med april 2006. För att ingen ska behöva känna sig kränkt eller diskriminerad på förskolan ska likabehandlingsplanen också innehålla en åtgärdsplan.  Examensarbetets syfte var att ta reda på om likabehandlingsplaner på förskolor synliggörs i verksamheten.  Det var den huvudsakliga frågeställningen i arbetet. Tre förskollärare har intervjuats och två enheters likabehandlingsplaner har jämförts och observationer på förskolorna har gjorts. Examensarbetets resultat visar att det inte är lätt att följa en likabehandlingsplan där alla ska bli lika bemötta.

In this study we have analysed from an intersectional perspective two textbooks Historia 1b and Progress Gold A which are purposed to be used as teaching material in Swedish schools in the subjects of History and English. Our question and reason for doing the analysis is to emphasise and make the variety of women in the books visible in order to compare that variety to the one that is demanded by the Swedish curriculum. The analysis is made from an ideology critical perspective and contains quantitative elements. Our conclusion is that the material contains both excluding and including features. Some intersectional categories are well represented while others, like functionality and religion, are not.

Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka vilka orsaker, samt dessa orsakers betydelse, som ungdomar uppger för deltagande i Svenska kyrkans ungdomsverksamhet. Utifrån syftet formulerades frågeställningarna: Vilka skäl anger ungdomar för att delta i Svenska kyrkans ungdomsverksamhet? Vad i kyrkans verksamhet värdesätts av ungdomarna? Vilken, om någon, betydelse har den kristna tron för ungdomarnas val att delta och för deras uppfattning om verksamheten?Teori: Lövheim & Sjöborg (2006) har studerat orsakerna till ungdomars engagemang i Svenska kyrkan och konstaterar att motiven till att välja kyrkans verksamhet är i stort sett de samma som för andra fritidsaktiviteter och att få uppger skäl som relaterar till den kristna tron.Metod: Genom fokusgruppsintervjuer har 19 ungdomar i åldern 16-18 år i en församling i Göteborgs stift fått diskutera kring varför de väljer att komma till kyrkans verksamhet, vad de tycker om med att var där och vilken betydelse den kristna tron har för deras val att delta och för deras uppfattning om verksamheten.Resultat: Utifrån intervjuresultaten går det att utläsa att den främsta orsaken till att ungdomarna kommer till verksamheten är för gemenskapen och för att träffa vänner. Det tycker det är kul att vara där och menar också att det är enkelt att komma till verksamheten eftersom de inte upplever någon press att närvara varje gång och att det inte finns några krav på prestationer. I övrigt värdesätter ungdomarna att verksamheten är åldersblandad och ger möjlighet att lära känna framför allt äldre ungdomar, att man kan utveckla den egna personligheten och att en speciell atmosfär gör att kyrkan känns som en paus från vardagen.

När vi säger att en entitet orsakar en annan, antas ett kausalt förhållande föreligga mellan de båda. The intension with the thesis is to investigate how mass communication is adopted as a strategy to increase the membership activity within religious communions in Sweden. In the years past it has shown a decreased activity within religious communion, deliberate strategies have been missing and efforts on resources for less effective strategies have been made. The study has been carried out through a review of existing theory within the field of subject, communication within religious communion and the use of mass communication within religious communion. The Swedish church was chosen as a case, where three persons were interviewed. The result from this study shows that the Swedish church communication operates on several different levels: these are detached and self-determinate.

Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva partnerns upplevelser att leva med en kvinna som fått bröstcancer. I litteraturstudien analyserades elva vetenskapliga studier med ett inifrånperspektiv, vilket resulterade i fyra kategorier: Att uppleva förändringar på sexualitet, intimitet och kommunikation; Att uppleva förändrad rollfördelning i hemmet; Att uppleva stöd från religion, omgivningen och att vara ett stöd för sin hustru; Att känna frustration, förtvivlan och oro inför framtiden. Resultatet visade att partnern upplevde förändringar i sin relation, framförallt i kommunikationen med sin hustru och i sexualiteten. Resultatet visade också på att partnern behöver stöd från vänner och familj. En slutats visar på att det inte bara kvinnan som behöver stöd och hjälp under sjukdomstiden utan också deras partner.

This paper deals with the late Viking age/early medieval grave field in Björned, Torsåker parish, Ångermanland County in northern Sweden. The grave field in Björned is rare because it has all the signs of being Christianized before the surroundings. This awakes questions such as if the people of Björned came from another place and brought the religion with them or if someone else did that for them. To find these answers I have analysed the stable isotope ratios [delta]13C, [delta]15N and [delta]34S in human bone collagen. Through these stable isotopes we can not only see what the people consumed but also where their food had its origin.

This qualitative studie discusses how psychologists can integrate clients' secular or religious philosophies into counseling and psychotherapy, as themes that are psychologically meaningful. The studie also discusses how psychologists can understand and respond to the psychological aspects of clients' existential and religious experiences. Eight psychologists were interviewed and their experiences were analysed using a phenomenological method.The results of the interviews suggested that the eight psychologists could handle the psychological aspects of clients' philosophies, by investigating their own personal philosophies and scientific ontologies. It was also discussed how an awareness of the psychologists' professional boundaries and personal experiences of existential and religious phenomenons, could facilitate an integration of clients' existential and religious experiences..

The main purpose with this study is to describe teachers? use of textbooks and other teaching materials in upper secondary school (gymnasiet) in Sweden, and to discuss the use according to school subject and teacher style. Data was collected in two different ways. At first twenty classroom observations were made during lectures concerning the subjects Swedish (mothertounge), English (foreign language) and religion. Then four open interviews were carried out with the teaching teachers.

Syftet med vår uppsats är att undersöka några gymnasielärares och lärarutbildares inställningar till undervisning om folkmord. Vi vill undersöka deras inställning till didaktiseringen om folkmord. Vi vill också skapa oss en bild av det material som finns till förfogande i ämnet, främst läroböcker. De intervjuade lärarnas syfte till undervisning om folkmord varierade. Vissa betonade den etiska aspekten.

The reason behind this essay has been to study if previous research is relevant for Jehovah?s Witnesses in Sweden and see if secularization has affected the organization or not. The empirical material is made from two qualitative group- interviews and open observations during two meetings in the Kingdom Hall. These studies were performed in Oskarshamn and Mönsterås during the month of February. This paper investigates whether there is a right not to suffer from poverty. The investigation is being conducted from the theoretical standpoint/view that only civil and political rights constitute justiciable rights and rights proper from a moral stance, whereas economic and social rights constitute mere political agendas or less.In the search of an answer to this question the content of economic and social rights, and thereafter civil and political rights will be outlined, followed by an inquiry of what should really be considered as rights. Finally, the arguments against economic and social rights as real rights is presented and scrutinized.This paper will conclude that the stated difference between the above-mentioned sets of rights is illusory and that the right not to suffer from poverty ought to have the same status as civil and political rights..

The purpose with this essay is to study if the exhibition, Maria-Drömmen om kvinnan has a gender perspective and if it contributes to the history of art. The study shows what kind of women the exhibition illustrates and what kind of perspective it has. By telling about the black Madonna I also show that there is another representation of the middle age women in the Roman Catholic Church at this time that the exhibition not have included. The study is also going to illustrate the difference between a genderperspektiv in art and a women?s perspective.
