The purpose of this essay is to explore how social media affect the political orientation and commitment of youths. Three scientific questions highlight the purpose from different angles. The didactic perspective is discussed in the initial and closing discussion, and is analyzed in the corresponding chapter. Two methods are involved in the study; one survey and one interview with a focus group. The survey had a total of 98 respondents from four different classes, all in the first grade of upper secondary school.

The Regional State Archive in Uppsala [Landsarkivet i Uppsala] has several archives left from various types of educational institutions in the counties of Dalarna, Södermanland, Uppsala, Västmanland and Örebro. This archiv-al guide reveals the main content of some of the school archives. It goes through the archives of the elementary school, state secondary grammar schools and private secondary grammar schools. A few special schools for the blind and the deaf children are included. The essay also brings up records from community homes and reformato-ries for children and young adults who experienced certain difficulties and therefore could not adjust to the ordi-nary educational system.

Jansson, J & Johansson, J (2009). Elevers bedömning av lärare - rätt väg till högre yrkesstatus? Malmö: Lärarutbildningen Malmö högskola Examensarbetet behandlar bedömning av lärare utifrån KAMEL - projektet. Elva lärare har intervjuats kring detta, varav tre har deltagit i projektet. Syftet med examensarbetet är att undersöka vad lärare anser om projektet, hur de ser på relationen mellan lärarprofession och bedömning av lärare samt att synliggöra ett samhällsperspektiv på bedömning.

Detta arbete syftar till att undersöka hur fritidspedagogens yrkesroll formas utifrån ett symboliskt interaktionistiskt perspektiv, det vill säga fritidspedagogens syn på sig själv och hur han/hon tolkar andras uppfattning om rollen. För att kunna svara på detta har vi valt att genomföra kvalitativa intervjuer med fem fritidspedagoger. Intervjuerna är utformade för att ge svar på hur verksamheten ser ut, hur fritidspedagogen ser på sig själv i sin yrkesroll och hur han/hon uppfattar omgivningens krav och förväntningar. Resultat visar att intervjupersonerna påverkas av samarbetet med lärarna på så sätt att ett gott samarbete gör att fritidspedagogsrollen att bli mer lik lärarens, medan ett mindre väl fungerande samarbete leder till att fritidspedagogen arbetar mer självständigt. Intervjupersonerna uppfattar inte att de har lägre status än läraren och vi kan därför inte se att det har någon negativ inverkan på yrkesrollen, snarare borde minskade statusskillnader leda till en starkare fritidspedagogsroll.

This is a study that will focus on the possibility to learn information about a town and its inhabitants of the 18th century by analyzing individual titles in the church records. The records that are used in this study are marriage registration administrated by the local church of the town of Uddevalla. The records are very detailed and each individual registered have a title, such as ?tradesman? or ?maiden?. Since the source are a registration of all the weddings that took place during the period of 1700 to 1749, the source gives very broad and valid information about the inhabitants of the town.

The acid deposition of sulphur- and nitrogenoxides from combustion of coal and oil cause acidification that lowers pH and gives increased contents of metals and altered aquatic biodiversity in the stream. The liming of lakes and streams, which was introduced to resist the acidification, demand large economic resourses despite of the decreased deposition of the acidifyng substances. Some of the streams are influenced by the acid deposition, while others are naturally acidic. It is therefore importaint to separate the anthropogenically acidified waters from the naturally acidic, in order to optimize the use of governmental fundings for liming. This thesis aims to estimate the acidity status and impact of acidification on 24 catchments upstream liming dispensers, which is part of the liming activities at the County of Dalarna.The acidity status of the streams was classified according to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency old classification system (Naturvårdsverket 1999) as very acid to acid, with small ability to withstand a pH-change (alkalinity) due to acid deposition.

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine reviewswritten by users in library online catalogs, online bookstoresand on the web community LibraryThing, in order todetermine whether there are any differences in the way usersreview books, and whether these differences might explainwhy libraries experience difficulties in getting their users toreview books. At the core of web 2.0 and library 2.0concepts lies the thought of user participation, and largerlibraries have sought to implement systems for reviewingand tagging items in the catalog in ways similar to onlinebookstores and other websites.By analyzing the contents of user reviews, however, thisthesis shows that users express themselves differentlydepending on what kinds of literature they review, and inwhat context. Most notably, user reviews of ?the Classics? orcanonized literature recognizes the high status of suchliterature, while users reviewing popular fiction expressthemselves in a way that admits that the reviewed titles areconsidered less valuable. There are also signs that booksreviewed at online bookstores are seen as products ormerchandise, while the reviews at the library to a greaterdegree treat the books as works of literature.The conclusion reached in this thesis suggests that there maybe a relation between the image of the library as a defenderof high culture and the perceived status of literary works,causing users to become hesitant to review books, feelingthat they do not have the knowledge to describe or reviewthem ?correctly?..

Livsvillkor, levnadsförhållanden och sociokulturella faktorer påverkar barns orala hälsa såsom låg socioekonomisk status (SES) och attityder hos föräldrar. Karies berör idag 60-90 % av alla barn i skolålder men kan förebyggas genom promotions- och preventionsinsatser. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att beskriva förekomst av karies och dess riskfaktorer hos barn med utländsk bakgrund i Västeuropa. Frågeställningar: Vilken är kariesprevalensen bland barn med utländsk bakgrund i Västeuropa? Vilka riskfaktorer för karies finns bland barn med utländsk bakgrund i Västeuropa? Metod: En litteraturstudie.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur skolans pedagoger arbetar för att främja elevernas bildspråkliga medvetenhet, det vill säga om pedagogerna anser sig arbeta medvetet för att utveckla elevernas förmåga att analysera och få förståelse för sina egna och andras bildskapande. Skolans pedagoger använder ofta bilden som ett sätt för eleven att uttrycka sin kreativitet men inte för att synliggöra förståelse för det ofta förekommande temaarbetet. Därför kommer undersökningen också att undersöka om pedagogerna medvetet utnyttjar bildens möjligheter i det tematiska arbetet för synliggöra elevernas kunskap om det pågående temat. Den forskningsbakgrund som uppsatsen tar upp belyser bildämnets status, dess kommunikativa roll och styrdokumenten kontra lärarnas prioriteringar samt bemötande av elevernas bilder. The states, built on contract theories, have an obligation to protect its citizens from the state of nature which seems to have failed as globalization has changed the rules.The purpose of this dissertation is to examine the contract theories of Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, Jean-Jacques Rousseau and John Rawls to identify the elements of a state and create a modern and ideal contract theory. The treaty shall then be used on the Treaty of Lisbon as it can be seen as a contract between the European states to create an entity in the shape of the European Union with the power to defend Europe from the unrest created by globalization.My question for this was as follows:Is the new treaty for the European Union acceptable as a new social contract according to the social contract theories?During my research the following criteria?s for a social contract was found:1.

The aim of this master thesis is to examine the identity of librarians. We have done this by conducting a text analysis where we have analysed texts produced by DIK, the major union of librarians, and by Library and Information Science departments in Sweden. The material we have analysed is texts produced in the aim of introducing and marketing the librarian occupation and education. The aim of this study is to find out how the identity of the librarian is expressed in this material. We have conducted the text analysis by adopting the critical discourse analyst Norman Fairclough´s theories.

Syfte: Att beskriva vilka faktorer som bidrar till psykisk ohälsa bland ungdomar i Sverige.Metod: Litteraturstudie med en deskriptiv design. Studien är baserad på 14 vetenskapliga artiklar sökt i databaserna "PubMed" och "Cinahl".Resultat: Det visade sig i resultatet att skilda föräldrar är en stor bidragande faktor till ungdomars psykiska ohälsa. Ungdomar som lever med skilda föräldrar har en större risk att drabbas av depression, ångest och att börja utöva negativa beteenden som rökning, dricka alkohol och tidig sexdebut. Andra faktorer som bidrar till psykisk ohälsa var fetma hos ungdomar och låg socioekonomisk status hos föräldrar.Slutsats: Resultatet i föreliggande studie visade att ungdomar som lever med skilda föräldrar är en stark bidragande faktor till ungdomars psykiska ohälsa. Även fetma hos ungdomarna och dålig socioekonomisk status hos föräldrar kan leda till psykisk ohälsa hos ungdomar.
