Ett gammalt kulturlandskap i Vindelfjällen : skogshistoria och markutnyttjande i Vuornavagge under 300 år

Humans have inhabited mountainous areas in northern Sweden since the end of the last glacial period, ca 8000 B.P., and their presence has marked the landscape in various ways. Older traces include the remains of hearths and dwelling sites, but there are also remains, such as culturally modified trees (CMT's), resulting from more recent activities in forested areas. This study aimed to document how people, both indigenous Sami's and Swedish settlers, have used an area northwest of Ammarnäs in Västerbotten, during the last 300 years, and what traces their activities have left in the area. I used historical records as well as an inventory of CMT's in the area to address this aim. Historical records of Sami activity are meagre, but it is clear that the people of the Ran and Gran Sami villages utilized the area long before 1500 A.D.

Drogmissbrukare och psykisk hälsa

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between mental illness and socioeconomic factors such as education, age and gender among drug users. Descriptive and ANOVA analysis were performed to 68 structured interviews (Addiction Severity Index basic). Analysis addressed associations between drug usage and level of education, age and gender. Results showed gender differences in self-rated mental health with women drug users rating their mental health lower than men. In addition, there was no association between age, educational level and self-rated mental health.

Angloskandinaviska stenmonument : En studie över monument resta i norra England 870-950 e.kr.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur de angloskandinaviska stenmonumenten i norra England uppstod och utvecklades under 900-talet. Uppsatsen tar upp de tidigaste monumenten och undersöker om några av dessa kan dateras till slutet av 800-talet, dvs. direkt efter vikingarnas erövring av norra England. Därefter undersöks hur den vidare utvecklingen gått till och hur teorierna om den ser ut. Slutligen ställs även frågan vad vi har för nytta av monumenten i forskningen..

This study aims to examine play as a phenomena from a phenomenological approach. This I do by discussing a dominant approach to play, an perspective which is reproduced in the context of pre-school and in where the play and learning is in single focus. Using alternative perspective on play, mainly by Gadamer and Bakthtins philosophical thoughts about the feast or the carnival, contents differ significantly from educational or developmental psychology perspectives. I open up for an understanding of what play as ontology can be understood as, and thereby enable second readings. I illustrate this thought by an empirical example from a pre-school context which where created alongside with the children in the study.

Roger Säljö?s sociocultural approach provides the theoretical framework for this thesis.

Biodling i Stockholms stadskärna : Ekonomi, ekologi eller ekosofi?

Previous research confirms that there is a major decline of pollinators worldwide. Investigations have mainly focused on pollination services in the agricultural landscapes and therefore, there is a lack of knowledge on the effects pollinators may have in urban environment. This paper examines the presence of honey bees in central parts of Stockholm, Sweden. The study presents what conditions, possibilities and motives there are behind the phenomenon of urban bee keeping. I found ten locations with beehives and a total of 18 hives within the delimited area. Nothing seems to indicate that conditions may limit the presence of honey bees.

This is an essay within the subject of practical theology. The main interest is baptism. The aim of this essay is to describe the baptism theology of the Church of Sweden (Svenska kyrkan) and the history of the baptism. The goal is also, with the help of qualitative research, to study the view of the baptism with the ones who choose to let their children be baptized according to the liturgy of the Swedish Church in the diocese of Härnösand. The attempt is to give the Swedish church a pattern of action and a direction based on the result of my research.

Although textbooks are scientifically proven that they are important and central to the school curriculum one should think critically about the content in textbooks - is it really compatible with the curriculum of following the textbook tradition? As a teacher there are different ways to reflect on which textbook to choose. It is important to compare several textbooks with each other and be aware that a textbook should follow the curriculum. Vi, de Andra. En studie av identitetsproblematik och historieförmedling i Pinelopi Deltas roman "Sta mystika tou Valtou".

I denna uppsats undersöker jag hur nationell identitet, fiendebilder och historiskt minne konstrueras i den grekiska författarinnan Pinelopi Deltas (1874-1941) roman "Sta mystika tou Valtou". Romanen, utgiven 1937, har motiv från striderna mellan grekiska och bulgariska nationalister om herraväldet över Makedonien i början av förra seklet och har blivit en klassiker inom grekisk ungdomslitteratur. Utifrån teorier om historiebruk och nationalism respektive begrepp med sitt ursprung i postkolonial litteraturteori undersöker jag hur Delta skildrar bulgarer och greker, och motsättningen mellan dem, hur den s.k. makedonska kampen konstrueras som kollektivt minne samt vilken betydelse den tillmäts i det nationella identitetsprojektet. Undersökningen visar på ett tvetydigt förhållningssätt till frågan om etnonationell tillhörighet i romanen, som hotar att underminera författarinnans nationalistiska utgångspunkter.

The present Equality Project in the Swedish preschool has been studied according to its view on sex and equality. The purpose was to find out how the Equality Project is described, interpreted and implemented.The research questions focused the central concepts sex (gender identity, gender roles and gender patterns) and equality in the political level, the educational level and the executing level of the Equality Project. From each level some central texts were chosen and analysed.The results indicated that equality is interpreted as connected to an absence of gender patterns and gender roles. The purpose with this essay is to study if the exhibition, Maria-Drömmen om kvinnan has a gender perspective and if it contributes to the history of art. The study shows what kind of women the exhibition illustrates and what kind of perspective it has. By telling about the black Madonna I also show that there is another representation of the middle age women in the Roman Catholic Church at this time that the exhibition not have included. The study is also going to illustrate the difference between a genderperspektiv in art and a women?s perspective.

Manga! Japanska serier och skaparglädje

This is a study of why Japanese comics, so-called manga, in such a high degree make Swedish readers eager to write and draw comics themselves, and what didactic implications this might have for teachers working in Sweden. To answer this, the author has put together a focus group of Swedish artists influenced by manga, and also used a questionnaire at two Swedish art schools, where young artists are taught how to draw in a manga style. The results show that it is the compelling storytelling and the focus on the characters that enthral readers about Japanese comics, but that it is the seemingly simple style that makes the readers think they themselves can master it. The fact that the interest in both reading and creating manga, almost completely overlap with the so-called period of oppression (between the ages of 11 and 14) when most students lose interest in creating art, is something that could and should be used in the Swedish educational system..
