Education in information seeking is often traditional and focused on technology. When it comes to this sort of education, research proves it is unusual to pay attention to the interaction between students. My intention has been to examine if it is possible to pay attention to the interaction between students, in order to create more and better situations of learning. The issues in this work are about describing the students? interaction.
Effekten av specialpedagogiskt stöd och senare resultat i grundskolan : en pilotstudie
A pilot-study was used to investigate, types of assistance, assessed needs, outcomes and effects of special-needs assistance given to a subsample of compulsory school pupils in an effort to develop an evaluation strategy for identifying educational impacts of specific special-needs inputs. Preliminary results indicate a tendency for postive outcomes for most pupils in the pilot group (n = 11) but also that many pupils have residual difficulties. Pupils with residual difficulties mostly required special education asssitance with Maths, English or Swedish. More pupils also needed support with behavioral difficulties. More research and an expanding knowledge base is required in order to effectively evaluate outcomes of teacher support. Schools need help in devising different methods of assistance and particularly for pupils with behavioral difficulties..
Patienters upplevelser av och tandhygieniststudenters kunskaper om dålig andedräkt vid en högskoleutbildningsklinik i Kristianstad - en enkätstudie
The purpose of the study was to describe the patients? perception of and the dental hygienist students? knowledge regarding bad breath (halitosis) in a University educational clinic in Kristianstad. The study is based on a waitingroom survey (n=100), and a studentpoll (n=40).The result of the patientpoll showed that 58 % felt that they rather would not talk about bad breath, and that 44 % found it that embarrassing to talk about. However 81 % experienced that they were bothered by bad breath from other people. The majority 98 % felt that it was important to smell good from the mouth and 90 % would appreciate if someone could spoke to them that they had bad breath.

In this paper we have theoretically built a house designed for people with impaired mobility. Theessay begins with an introduction in which the purpose of the work, the methodology and thedepth-research part is presented. Then the layout that explains how we intend to adapt the housefor the demands detailed in the depth-research part is presented. In the same chapter variousstructural components, such as different floors and walls, are specified.In the selection of materials we have taken into account the criteria of our specialization andadaptation to the aesthetic aspects, where we evaluate materials based upon our wishes regardingtechnique and form. There are also other aspects that are important in the selection of materials,including that these are adapted to technical traits of the construction elements and installations.In a later chapter the technical installations such as ventilation systems, heating systems,electricity and sanitation are presented, where both technical and financial aspects are describedin detail.
Skyltningen i Stockholms innerstad : Är den användbar för turister?
The purpose of this essay is to investigate if signage for tourists in Stockholm is enough to easily find your way to attractions and public modes of transport and how the city works with the issue. Triangulation was chosen for the essay, that is, a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods. A survey of 100 tourists was carried out in the Old town of Stockholm and interviews were made with stakeholders in the tourism industry and signage policy in Stockholm. The survey showed that most of the tourists found it easy to find their way in Stockholm and that they were content with the signage. Few of the tourists thought it was difficult to find their way in Stockholm.
Ett liv med figurer : En utställning om minnen och föremål
This thesis is based on an exhibition at the county museum Upplandsmuseet in Uppsala, Sweden. During an internship at this museum I got a chance to produce an exhibition, with some guidance from the museum staff. This exhibition was created with the purpose of teaching about agriculture in the late 19th century and also about the magnificent workmanship of Alrik Klingberg, who have carved these wooden objects for over 50 years. Each one of the objects possesses a story and a memory. The memories that Alrik Klingberg has incorporated into the objects are mainly from his childhood at a croft in northern Uppland.
Matematik i förskolan : En jämförelsestudie mellan en traditionell förskola och montessoriförskola
This work is about how teachers describe their work with mathematics in a traditional nursery school and a Montessori preschool. Another aim is to study how children mathematise on the two different preschools and to see if there are any differences between the various educational theories and practices mathematising. I have used two methods wich is interviews with preschool teachers, and observation of the children. The results of my study was that differences exist but the biggest difference is the material that Montessori uses. The difference between the teachers' way of teaching mathematics is to Montessori preschool places great emphasis on the material and how it is used, while in the traditional preschool puts the emphasis on learning through interaction with others.
"Bara för att man är pensionär måste man inte spela boule" : En studie om fyra nyblivna ålderpensionärers skapande av ett meningsfullt liv
?Pensionsvägledning? är ingen nationellt förekommande verksamhet. Tidigare forskning visar att förberedelser inför pensioneringen ökar både individens livslängd och underlättar omställningen. Syftet med studien är att undersöka om nyblivna ålderspensionärer har ett behov av vägledning i skapandet av ett meningsfullt pensionärsliv. I studien undersöktes med intervjuer av fyra nyblivna ålderspensionärer deras nuvarande levnadssituation, anpassningen till pensionärslivet och synen på livslångt lärande.
Att navigera från dröm till verklighet : Hur unga individer resonerar kring sina liv i övergången mellan skola och arbete
Studiens syfte är att belysa hur fyra unga individer, i ålder 18- 25 resonerar kring sin valprocess retrospektivt och i nutid. Studien har fokus på individens egna berättelser, dvs. erfarenheter, förväntningar och drömmar om framtiden. Den illustrerar även individens syn på samhällets stödjande funktioner i samband med studie- och yrkesval. För studien tillämpas en induktiv kvalitativ metod.
Facebook som komplement till modersmålsundervisning
Facebook is the most widely used social media in Sweden. It allows the user to easily share the latest from their everyday life, their opinions, as well as communicate with their acquaintances. According to the latest poll from the Foundation for Internet Infrastructure, 33% of teenagers in the ages 12-15 spend their Internet time being active on social media. 63% of these teenagers visit Facebook on daily basis.Herein, we examined how Facebook can be exploited as a complement to the education of the mother tongue. The investigation was performed with a questionnaire as well as a test group that has been supplemented with semi-structured interviews. In conclusion, the study showed promising results in the usage of Facebook with the education.

In 2005 we made a research in a Swedish community board about their view on the political and ideological intentions of ?a school for all?. The results from that study were the background to this research.The aim with this research was to find out how principles in the same community were thinking about ? a school for all? and if they were leading a development towards ?a school for all?. In that context they were given the opportunity to explain their definition and reasoning about ?inclusion? and ?integration?.
Dilemma för karaktärsämneslärare på omvårdnadsprogrammet : Undervisning för elever med annan språkbakgrund än svenska
Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka vilka metoder och hjälpmedel karaktärsämneslärare, och då specifikt de på det nationella omvårdnadsprogrammet, använder sig av när de undervisar elever med annan språkbakgrund än svenska och som har språksvårigheter. Vi vill öka kunskapen om hur vi som lärare kan förbättra möjligheten för dessa elever att nå upp till kursmålen.Den metod vi valt för att genomföra denna undersökning är kvalitativa intervjuer. Vi har genomfört intervjuer med nio lärare på omvårdnadsprogrammet i tre städer runt om i Sverige.Resultatet visar att det är stora skillnader på dessa tre skolor avseende vilka resurser som finns för dessa elever i kombination med att det skiljer sig åt hur mycket tid som lärarna får för att hjälpa dessa elever. Lärarna som vi intervjuat resonerar lite olika kring hur mycket extra tid och hjälp de ska ge åt dessa elever. Alla är överens om att det är ett stort problem.
Design som könsstruktur : samtal om genus, makt och mobiltelefoner
The main purpose with this study is to describe teachers? use of textbooks and other teaching materials in upper secondary school (gymnasiet) in Sweden, and to discuss the use according to school subject and teacher style. Data was collected in two different ways. At first twenty classroom observations were made during lectures concerning the subjects Swedish (mothertounge), English (foreign language) and religion. Then four open interviews were carried out with the teaching teachers.

The purpose of this degree project was to examine which remedies are available to individuals when the State has violated their right to a fair trial as stated in article 6 in the European Convention on Human Rights. Furthermore, the aim was to, in cases where the remedy is determined to money, to clarify the indemnity rates that apply in determining the non-pecuniary damages. The starting point was a review of the European Court practice, domestic Swedish practice and relevant literature.The outcome of the review is that the remedies available to the individual?s disposal can be divided into two categories: primary and secondary remedies. Primary remedies mean compensation not consisting of money, and must be exhausted first.

The Individual Program (within the continuation school) in Sweden is the third largest. Its purpose is that the students, who for some reason haven?t been able to be admitted to a National Program, shall get the chance to improve their possibilities to attend one. The difficulties the students, who are admitted to the Individual Program are carriers of, have a wide range. The purpose of the Individual Program is that no one should be excluded from any continuation school.
