The aim of this paper is to analyze aid, grouped into sectors, and its effect on growth in developing countries, to find out which type of aid has had the most positive effect on growth. We compiled a regression analysis based on panel data over 81 developing countries from 1975-1999. In our first regression we considered and group countries by institutional quality, in the other we considered and group countries after regional differences. As a measure on institutional quality we used the KKZ-index. The principal aim of this paper was to find out what kind of aid is the most efficient in its influence on growth in LDC?s.

The information society creates new demands on the knowledge making individual; besides being literate one has to be information literate. And in the educational society there is an ongoing change from teaching to learning, the focal point being the active student and life long learning. The aim of this dissertation is to within a context of learning and teaching elucidate the relation between user education and subject education by examining what significance the academic libraries user education has for the development of information literacy within students. Some epistemological theories connected with learning is presented as well as aspects of the information search process and of information literacy. Universities and their libraries view of information literacy and the goal of their user education is being focused on in an empirical study.

The Vaxholm conflict was initiated when the Swedish Trade Union for Construction Workers shut down a construction site in order to prevent a Latvian construction company to build a school after the two parties had failed to agree upon a collective agreement in compliance with Swedish regulations. An emotional public debate followed that resulted in a discussion of the proposal for the Services Directive of the EU, based upon the country-of-origin principle. In this thesis we will analyze whether the country-of-origin principle or the country-of-destination principle is best suited to capture the gains-of-trade that the common market hoards and improve welfare within the EU. We conclude that the country-of-origin principle is the more apt of the two, though it leads to some short-run costs such as structural unemployment. But these will be more than outweighed by the gains in aggregate welfare for the EU in the long run..

This is a qualitative research paper, which aims to examine how religion classes are conducted in inner-city and suburban schools. Interviews have been performed with two religion teachers, one at Grindtorp School in Alby and one at the English Gymnasium in Södermalm. There have been performed interviews with eight students, four from each school. The students have a different age, sex and religious beliefs. With these interviews we can get a better understanding how the students of today?s school think about the religious education.

Denna uppsats behandlar det kommunala utjämningssystemet. Dagens system består av en inkomstutjämningsdel, kostnadsutjämningsdel, ett strukturbidrag och en regleringspost, som antingen kan bli bidrag eller avgift beroende på hur mycket pengar staten anslår till systemet. Till detta har använts teorin om konkurrensproblemet, olika teorier om vad kommunerna bör göra, varför kommunerna bör finnas och hur de skall finansiera verksamheten. Två kommuner har valts ut, Vellinge och Trelleborg, för att i två fallstudier studera effekten av systemet för den enskilda kommunen. Slutsatsen är att i dagsläget behövs utjämningssystemet för annars träder konkurrensproblemet till.

How do we match our education with the needs of the construction line of business and the requirementsof the Swedish National Agency for education? Is there something that we have to change?In this study I have asked our former students about their opinion of our education and I have also asked them to give me their view on what a good teacher is like. I have been able to benefit a lot from their answers in my efforts to be that good teacher. This survey took place at Facebook.The answers showed that we carry on a piece of solid workmanship. But you can always improve, try harder.

This study aims to find more knowledge about preschool teachers? point of view on the situation of children living in economic hardship and how it affects them at the preschool. With economic hardship becoming more frequent and common amongst families with young children we find the subject important and in need of more attention. Studies have proven the negative effects of poverty on children?s development and health and since the preschool is a big part of children?s everyday life the study aims to see what perspectives practitioners have on the issue and how they plan activities and learning situations based on the needs of these children.

Uppsatsen analyserar nyintroduktionerna på Stockholmsbörsen mellan 1992 och 1995 och deras prissättning och värdeutveckling på 10 års sikt i syfte att undersöka hur kapitalmarknaden historiskt sett har lyckats med att marknadsprissätta företag som har sökt sig till börsen. Central för analysen är hypotesen om informationseffektivitet vid prissättningen av nyintroduktioner och den därav följande värdeutvecklingen. Resultaten påvisar inga systematiska avvikelser ifrån de förväntade avkastningarna enligt CAPM. Informationen om nyintroduktion i kombination med egenskapar som MV, P/B, betavärden, börsklimat under introduktionsåret eller branschtillhörighet räcker inte för att framgångsrikt tillämpa aktiva handelsstrategier som realiserar signifikanta överavkastningar under något av de 10 åren som följer på nyintroduktionen eller över hela livslängden upp till 10 år..

I denna uppsats undersöks om marknadsrisken och storleken på företagen har en betydelse på investerarnas placeringshorisonter samt om vårt innehav i testportföljen är representativ för den genomsnittliga investeraren. Studieperioden som undersöks sträcker från början av 1999 fram till slutet av 2003. Resultaten konstaterar att marknadsrisken har högst signifikans betydelse där högre risk föranleder till kortare investeringsperiod medan effekterna från börsvärdet indikerar att en investering i storföretag leder till att innehavsperioden blir längre dock med en svagare betydelse för denna variabel. Dessutom visas att vårt aktieinnehav är karakteristisk för den genomsnittliga investeraren och att investeraren har varit riskundvikare och kan således inte beskyllas för kortsiktigheten på aktiemarknaden..

Vårt syfte med uppsatsen är att undersöka om det empiriskt går att påvisa lönsamhet i det nya pensionssystemet dvs. premiepensionen. Med andra ord vill vi undersöka lönsamheten med ett aktivt pensionssparande enligt ekonomisk vedertagen teori. Undersökningsdata omfattar samtliga 854 pensionsfonder som funnits från starten 2000-11-02 till 2004-12-30. Vi har utifrån historisk data tagit fram den lägsta variansfonden för att använda den som riskfri fond i Sharpekvoten.

Background: Funds have become a more popular way for investments. After the financial crisis in 2008 there was some sectors that shown a better results than other depending if the sector was affected by the economic situation or not. Therefore can  investments in sector funds be a good way to get a high return, but it also has a high risk.Problem: Has the risk any impact on the return considered funds in sectors that is affected by the economic situation relatively to sectors that isn?t affected by the situation in the economy?Purpose: Determine whether sector funds risk has any impact on the return. Also if there are any differences between sectors depending if they are affected by the economic situation or not.

The main purpose of this study is to investigate how student nurses seek and use information and libraries. Furthermore, I want to know how they think information can be used in their future occupation. Seven student nurses were included in the study. A qualitative method with personal interviews was used. The analysis of the empirical material was made according to a socio-cultural perspective.

The purpose of this Master's thesis is to investigate the role of the public library when the local government in the municipality arranges distance education at university level. The thesis has two main areas of questioning and these are goals and resources. In the study it is examined if the local goals have changed during the period 2000 until 2005, due to the development of distance education. It is investigated if change actually has occurred and if it has, in what way the goals have changed. It is also examined if and how the goals correspond with the work that is being performed in the public library.

The purpose of this study is to give a picture of the current status for the recruitment to forest machine operator educations in Sweden, how many the educators are and the outcome of this activity. The three at present different types of education are upper secondary school, polytechnic school and vocational school. The method used for the survey is telephone interviews, pre-broadcast issues were discussed and the responses were recorded. The results are then compiled and presented in linear form. The conclusions one can draw is that education is desirable and important. To get young people interested in forest machine operator education it is very important that the forest industry continues to develop attractive employment..

AbstractThis paper is about the organisation of the special needs education in three nine-year compulsory schools in Stockholm and the pedagogical thoughts and theories that underlie these organisations. The main purpose of the paper was to investigate whether the special needs education of these schools should be interpreted in accordance with a segregating or an including view on integration as these perspectives are presented by the Norwegian professor Peder Haug. In addition to this I also wanted to investigate if there were any historical arguments in favour of one or another of these perspectives that were still being put forward in today?s debate.The methods that I used were a study of literature regarding special needs education and interviews of a qualitative character with three special educationalists and a special teacher that were working on three different nine-year compulsory schools in Stockholm.The result of the study shows that a big part of the special needs education of the schools that I visited can be interpreted in accordance with the segregating view on integration.The organisation of the special needs education of the three schools differed slightly from school to school but the common trait was that the largest part of this work took place outside of the student?s regular classroom and sometimes outside of the scheduled school day.Two of the schools had special groups where students that were believed to have a need of special education got some, or their entire schooling. That the schools chose to build a big part of their special needs education upon solutions that should be regarded as segregating was motivated on the basis of an effect oriented view on education.
