This paper studies the research foundations created in 1994 from the former wage earners? funds out of a portfolio management point of view. Firstly it describes the seven largest foundations and their different portfolio management structures. Secondly it analyses the performance of these foundations measured as the intercept, Jensen?s a, in a linear regression of the excess returns of a portfolio versus a proxy for the market, as well as the Sharpe-ratio.

People rely on fuels that contribute to environmental, social and health problems.Biogas is an alternative energy source and an increased investment in small-scale biogas production can in several developing countries be found. Several projects have started to use the technology in developing countries because of the benefits with biogas. Some cases in the establishment of biogas plants have succeeded and some have not. The study is a literature review supplemented by two field studies.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att analysera Sveriges livsmedelssektor efter Sveriges medlemskap i Europeiska unionen 1995 med avseende på de ekonomiska integrationseffekterna handelsalstring och handelsomfördelning. Ett statistiskt datamaterial över produktion, export och import under perioden 1996-2002 analyseras och ett mått av Truman utnyttjas för att fastställa förekomsten av handelsalstring och handelsomfördelning.Undersökningen skedde på en övergripande nivå för alla produkter inom livsmedelssektorn och på en desaggregerad nivå med tretton subgrupper. Resultatet är att livsmedelssektorn efter medlemskapet har mött en handelsalstring på en aggregerad och en desaggregerad nivå för majoriteten av grupperna. Av den totala kvantiteten livsmedel vi konsumerar kommer en minskande andel från inhemsktproducerade varor, istället ökar andelen importerade produkter från medlemsländerna. Anmärkningsvärt är att den inhemska produktionen inte minskar samtidigt som importen från särskilt medlemsländer men också ickemedlemsländer ökar tillsammans med en växande export.

Aim: The aim for this study of Swedish daily press is to see how the musical reporting is structured for the newspapers I have chosen to analyse. My main purpose is to investigate how the newspapers reporting are distributed between artists who belong to either a major record company or an independent record company. With this research I want to find out if there are any economic backgrounds to the content and if the reporting is equal to the market production.Method/Material: For this study I have studied, by quantitative research, every piece of musical reporting in seven daily newspapers for two weeks. Through thorough research I have determined the belonging of every article?s record company.

Parallel import in the European Union is the perfectly legal activity under Art. 28-30 EC of buying goods in a low-price country in order to ship and sell them in a high-price country. The pharmaceutical market in Europe is subject to the subsidiartiy principle of Art. 5 EC and heavily characterised by national regulations that lead to significant price differentials between ? generally speaking ? Northern and Southern Europe.

I denna uppsats undersöker jag utbildningens roll i denna utveckling, mer specifikt: vilken effekt utbildning och utbildningspolitik har haft på Sydkoreas ekonomiska tillväxt mellan 1960 och 1990? Metodologin präglas av kvantitativ data och huvuddragen i metodologin är beskrivning av ekonomiska processer, presentation av empirisk data samt analys med koppling till ekonomisk teori.

This essay is focused on the questions of and responsibility for where, when, how and why communication and meetings through archaeology should take place. I have critically studied Swedish public archaeology through three diverse archaeological excava­tions, one took place in the end of the 1980s, and two others in 2012.I have asked for under what circum­stances and with which goals the public efforts become possible. I have inter­viewed leaders for the archaeological excavations and/or the public efforts and questi­o­ned how and why they reached out to the public. I also searched for results and effects in order to problematize and value the public activities.Through interpretation of the resear­ched material it becomes clear that economic issues as well as archaeo­logists interests and engagements are of vital importance for public archaeology. Österbyverken is an industrial estate in Östhammars municipality in Uppland, Sweden. Many different activities have taken place on the estate the last 600 years. During the last 15 years both health and environmental studies have been made by different companies. At the most recent study a great increase of metals in Nerån, a river that runs partly through and partly next to the estate, was identified with mass balances. The purpose of this thesis is to accomplish a deepened study about the reasons for the increase of metals in Nerån.

This paper quantitatively examines the effects of marketing brands within the same product category and the same brand portfolio jointly. We have chosen to call this type of marketing category advertising. The results of the study show that category advertising leads to increased brand awareness within the category, which is particularly important for brands within less salient subcategories. For strong brands however, category advertising leads to lower purchase intentions, an effect which could potentially be moderated by focusing the advertisement on the complementary nature of the products combined with promotional elements. The study also shows that there is no difference between advertising products jointly and separately when it comes to brand attitude, category attitude, typicality, brand purchase intention for weak brands and category purchase intention.

This paper examines a long run macroeconomic dilemma. This dilemma states that given a real appreciation, i.e. a continuous increase in the real exchange rate, an economy has two options open with respect to inflation and nominal exchange rate. Either the economy chooses a fixed exchange rate- regime but has to allow for a rising inflation. Or the economy can choose an inflation targeting- regime, but then has to allow for an appreciating nominal exchange rate.

Bredband har de senaste åren gått från att vara en ovanlig företeelse till att i Sverige närmast ses som en mänsklig rättighet. En teknik som ger många individer tillgång till IT-infrastrukur med hög överföringskapacitet är trådlösa nätverk av typerna WiFi och WiMax. I uppsatsen konstateras att ett marknadsmisslyckande kan förekomma på privata marknader för trådlöst bredband. Detta marknadsmisslyckande analyseras utifrån teorier om externa effekter och kollektiva varor. De positiva externa effekter som trådlösa nätverk genererar ger varan drag av kollektivitet.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att granska effekterna av regional integration på FDI hos de länder som blev medlemmar i EU 2004 samt 2007. Utifrån teori gällande sambandet mellan regional integration och FDI, analyseras empirisk data över stock och flöden av FDI till de nya medlemsländerna i syfte att utreda förekomsten av investeringsalstring och/eller investeringsomfördelning inom denna integration av typen öst-väst där det råder stora skillnader i inkomstnivå mellan medlemsländerna. Analysen visar att FDI till de nya medlemsländerna, både från andra medlemsländer och tredje land, har ökat till följd av ländernas medlemskap i EU. Mätt i absolutvärde kan det konstateras att FDI från andra medlemsländer är avsevärt mycket större än FDI från tredje land. Vidare har de nya medlemsländerna upplevt investeringsalstring och investeringsomfördelning från andra medlemsländer samt investeringsomfördelning där FDI från EU15 flyttar från tredje land till de nya medlemsländerna.

I uppsatsen undersöks möjligheterna med kommersiell mikrofinans. Det historiska förloppet bakom mikrofinansinstitutens utveckling studeras och dagens forskning synas. Möjligheterna med kommersiell mikrofinans kopplas sedan samman med en undersökning av avkastningen på det egna kapitalet hos mikrofinansinstitut av olika typer i Sydamerika, Centralamerika och Karibien. Den sista undersökningen genomförs i syfte att hitta lämpliga investeringsklimat i den region som anses ha kommit längst med mikrofinans. Undersökningen av möjligheterna med kommersiell mikrofinans visar att det finns diversifierningsmöjligheter, möjligheter med att anpassa räntederivat från den reguljära finansmarknaden till mikrofinansmarknaden, möjligheter att öppna upp en enorm marknad, möjligheter till hög avkastning tack vare hög återbetalningsförmåga och slutligen att det finns en möjlighet att mätta ett enormt behov i u-länderna.
