The result is aimed to give a deeper picture of how gender is represented in media.Material/Method: The method used in this thesis is discourse analysis, applied on twenty articles which contained personal interviews with women and men who have or have had breast or prostate cancer. Ten of the articles contain interviews with women and ten interviews with men. The articles were selected from criteria based on where and when they were published. They were picked from the two largest papers in Sweden, Dagens Nyheter (DN) and Aftonbladet (AF), ten from each paper, of which five were interviews with women and five with men.

Background: Nurses´daily has to face death and Dying in their work with patients in a palliative state.  This means both emotionell and workrelated challenges. However nurses in this context are not experiencing more stress then others.Aim: The aim is to describe nurses´experiences of caring for patients in a palliative state.Method: A litterature review based on ten qualitative articles published between 2006- 2012. To collect data we used the databases Cinahl, PubMed, Nursing Allied Health Source and Medline. We worked with Fribergs (2006) model ?Contribute to evidensbased care with a base in analyses of qualitative science? in the analysis.Result: Four main themes were identified; The meaning of the nurses´ spirituality in the care, Why the nurse choose to work in this field, To be certain in the professional role and The meaning of the caring relationship.

Bakgrund Varje människa är unik med behov som varierar och ändras över tid. I vården av den döende människan syftar vården till att lindra och stötta i stället för att bota. Viktigt som sjuksköterska är att ha en helhetssyn som utgår från den döendes subjektiva uppfattning om vad en god död är. Begreppet god död är abstrakt och öppet för tolkning men flera gemensamma aspekter om vad en god död är tas upp i litteraturen. Dessa var; relation, kommunikation, lindrat lidande, värdighet samt avslut.Syfte Syftet var att undersöka vilka faktorer som sjuksköterskor och döende patienter uppfattar bidrar till en god död.Metod Studien grundade sig på nio kvalitativa artiklar och en litteraturstudie som tagits fram genom sökningar i databaserna PubMed och CINAHL.Resultat Resultatet visade att det som sjuksköterskor och döende patienter uppfattade som en god död bestod av flera olika faktorer.

Allt fler människor i samhället dör på sjukhus. Detta gör att sjuksköterskan får ett större ansvarsområde i sin yrkesfunktion i relation till patientens döendeprocess. När patienten kommer till insikt om att livet är på väg att ta slut aktiveras en av de mest grundläggande försvarsmekanismer som människan har, ångest. För att sjuksköterskan skall kunna stödja patienten i upplevelsen av oro och ångest i döendeprocessen är det av betydelse att öka kunskapen inom omvårdnadsvetenskapen. Därför var syftet med denna litteraturstudie att beskriva patienters upplevelse av oro och ångest i döendeprocessen.

The United States is one of few Western nations that administers capital punishment to their condemned criminals. Texas has executed the most inmates of any state in the U.S. This prompted questions about the psychological characteristics of death row inmates. The purpose of this essay is to widen the perspective on inmates serving capital sentences by analyzing their final statements. The focus of this essay was centered on acute anxiety of death among inmates, visible in their final statements, as a result of an accelerated process of Dying.

Vårdpersonal känner ofta stor rädsla att gå in i vårdsituationer med en döende förälder. Tidiga stödinsatser har visat sig vara av värde för barns krisbearbetning och accepterande i dessa vårdsituationer. Vården är vanligen inte anpassad för att barnen ska involveras och många föräldrar upplever det svårt att förmedla information om sjukdom och förväntad död till sina barn. Syftet med studien var att undersöka vårdpersonalens upplevelser och erfarenheter av att stödja familjer med minderåriga barn när en förälder är svårt sjuk eller döende. I form av tre fokusgruppsintervjuer intervjuades 10 personer med olika vårdyrkesbakgrund.

Snow White is one of the most popular fairytales to our time. There has been much research on the subject. `Lips red as blood- a structural analysis of Christian symbols´ in Walt Disneys and Rupert Sanders versions of Snow White` by Emma Svanström aims not to give a final answer to how Snow White should be interpreted. But rather the objective is to examine two versions in the search for any possible Christian influences and changes in such over time. The two versions are Walt Disney?s Snow white and the seven dwarfs and Rupert Sanders Snow White and the huntsman.

This is a study of the importance of culture for persons who are in their terminal stage of life. The purpose of my study is to find out if culture, particularly literature, can be a comfort for persons who are about to die. The study is based on interviews with people who are working in the palliative team at Norra Älvsborgs Länssjukhus (NÄL) in Trollhättan. It is also based on study of literature. It is literature about hospital library, culture in hospital treatment, palliative care, bibliotherapy and ?own stories? from Dying persons.

Bakgrund: Allt mer av den palliativa vården bedrivs i hemmiljö. Sjuksköterskor träffar ofta närstående som vårdar svårt sjuka och döende personer i hemmet. Vården idag tar inte vara på de närståendes möjligheter och kunskaper. Vårdpersonalen fokuserar på den sjuke och glömmer bort de närståendes behov. Syfte: Var att belysa närståendes erfarenheter av att leva nära en svårt sjuk och döende person i hemmiljö Metod: Metoden som användes var en självbiografistudie, där materialet analyserades med en narrativ metod.

The biodiversity of the Swedish forest has degenerated since the beginning of the 19th century when fire suppression and large scale logging first occurred. Together with a changed land use, these actions today have had a negative influence on many forest dwelling species, due to gradual reduction of natural processes, successions and different structures from the forest ecosystem. The Swedish Forest Act, together with different environment certifications, have today encouraged private persons and forest companies, among them Holmen Skog, to work actively to improve nature conservation. The aim of this study was to, by field inventories of already existing nature values, literature studies, recommendations from scientific reports and ecological gap analysis as a basis, make a management plan, for a non-production area, to conserve or improve the prerequisites for biodiversity. ?Storskogsberget? is located in the coastal area of Västerbotten County, 35 km from the city of Umeå.

A woman is Dying of cancer, she refuses to use her walking aid. Because she is embarrassed. This means she can?t leave her house, and her last days become very limited.Why do we act like this?Can the view we have of products adapted for disabled be changed by working with colour, texture, form and materials?There are many products adapted for disabled, the products often have a good function and well developed ergonomic aspects but the visual aspect leaves a lot to wish for. There is neither effort nor money put in to the exterior design of most of these products.A lot of the solutions that are invented for adapted products can be used in design of ?regular? products.Why should we then divide products in to adapted and non-adapted.

Increased interest in nature tourism may be what saves small and Dying villages, like Borgsjo? in the county of Va?sterbotten in northern Sweden, from disappearing. The nearly untouched nature in these areas is in many cases an unused resource, since true wildlife experiences are sought by many travelers. The purpose with this report is to investigate if Borgsjo? has the potential and abilities to become a destination for nature tourists, and how this should be done to avoid negative effects on nature, wildlife and culture.
