Detta projekt handlar om att byta motor på ett äldre flygplan en PA28-161 (Piper Cherokee Cadet ) med registreringsbeteckning SE-KMI som ägs av Västerås Flygklubb.SE-KMI är ett äldre flygplan som är tillverkat år 1989 och har en förbrukad motor av typen Lycoming som går på bränslet Avgas 100 LL. Idag möter sådana flygplan stora problem runt om i världen och har svårt att konkurrera med de nyare varianterna. Anledningen till detta är att de har blivit alltmer oekonomiska och icke miljövänliga på grund av den höga bränsleförbrukningen och den ständiga prisökningen på bränslet. En annan faktor som gör situationen ännu svårare är tillgången på bränslet ( Avgas 100 LL ) både i Sverige och runt om i världen.För att man ska kunna hålla flygplanet i drift, så anser man att den bästa lösningen är att byta motorn till en annan typ som ska gå på en typ av bränsle som är billigare, lätt åtkomligt samt har lägre bränsleförbrukning och miljövänligare.  Metoden som används i denna rapport har gått ut på att undersöka marknaden för att samla information om val av ny motor och att ta kontakt med berörda myndigheter för att kolla upp vad lagen säger, att jobba med dokumentationer och att ansöka om nya certifikat.

Denna medvetenhet har resulterat i att högre krav ställs på att företag driver sin verksamhet på ett ansvarsfullt sätt med hänsyn till hållbarhet. Med utvecklad medvetenhet utvecklas nya sätt att hållbarhetsredovisa vilket har lett till att International Integrated Reporting Council år 2013 lanserade ett ramverk för integrerad rapportering. Ramverket ska vara ett helt nytt sätt att tänka. Driften av verksamheten och hållbarhetsarbetet ska vara integrerade med varandra för att kunna se samband mellan de ekonomiska, miljömässiga och sociala aspekterna.

Fieldstudys on 22 farms (23 silos) to study relationships between the actual particle size of the maize silage and the theoretical length of cut. The measure of theoretical length of cut were stated by the farmers and not measured by us. Particle size of maize silage was determined using the New Penn State Forage Particle Separator. SLU Skara made a special sieve for us, that had larger holes than de original sieves. The samples were shaken after instructions and then the material was weighted. We have also been taking out samples for microbiological analyses from the silos on 13 of the farms.

Robotic milking in Automatic Milking systems (AMS) is proposed to reduce manual labour and at the same time increase milk yield by increasing milking frequency. In order to increase milking frequency, it is essential to have well-functioning cow traffic. Investing in an AMS is a great capital investment for the farmer, thus it is of major importance to ensure maximal AMS capacity. This study investigated the effect of the traffic systems Feed First? and Free cow traffic with and without waiting area (WA) on cow performance and AMS capacity.

Vindkraftverk med olika magnetiseringsmetoder (elektromagneter eller permanentmagneter) och maskindriftstyper (direktdrift eller växellådsdrift) undersöks i denna rapport, gällande användningen av jordartsmetaller i dessa. I första delen av rapporten studeras miljö- och hälsopåverkan från jordartsmetallindustrin i den kinesiska provinsen Baotou. Detta då Baotou står för en stor del av försörjningen av jordartsmetaller till vindkraftverksindustrin. I den andra delen av rapporten undersöks skillnaderna i livscykelkostnader mellan vindkraftverk med olika generator- och maskindriftsystem. Rapporten innehåller informationssökningar om olika aspekter som berör dessa teman såsom exempelvis olika typer av vindkraftverksgeneratorer på marknaden, miljöpåverkan från olika ämnen i jordartsmineraler, återvinning av jordartsmetaller och processen från jordartsmineral till permanent-magnet.
