The study has got three aims. The first purpose is to implement the Newman et al.s rampage theory (2004) in a more dominant European context. In this way, the theory?s strengths and weaknesses can be exposed. The second objective is to look at the motive.

This paper concerns the divide between secularist and anti-secularist groups in Turkey, which is related to a greater antagonism between a Kemalist and an Islamic political discourse, dominant in Turkish politics since the 1980s. The main aim of the paper is to analyse the causes of the conflict using the discourse theory of Laclau and Mouffe. The second aim is to analyse the contents of each discourse and identify the main points of conflict between them. The empirical material used in the study consists exclusively of secondary sources treating the topic, and these are analysed using the theory of identity conflicts, which is part of Laclau and Mouffe's theory. It will be argued that the attempts of Kemalism to impose strict secularism by hegemonising the concepts of ?modernity? and ?Islam? led to the creation of an alternative political discourse based on political Islam.

Häxor i periferin. Trolldomsprocesser i Småland 1604-1619.Uppsatsen undersöker de tidiga trolldomsprocesserna i Småland. Det är en kvalitativ fallstudie som undersöker rättspraxis med en genusteoretisk utgångspunkt, under perioden 1604-1619.Studien analyserar sjutton fall av trolldom samt de nyare rättsbruken vilket kompletteras med en omfattande kontextbeskrivning.Teorin grundar sig i Yvonne Hirdmans genussystem med de två bärande logikerna dikotomi och hierarki, samt en tredje logik om rangordning inom könen. I teorin kan man även finna ett struktur- och aktörsperspektiv.Syftet med studien är att undersöka trolldomsprocesser så som de tog sig uttryck i ett perifert område under tidigt 1600-tal.Studien är uppbyggd kring tre frågeställningar:- Vad ansågs utgöra de specifika brotten i trolldomsmålen?- Vilka var aktörerna som agerade inför rätten (svarande, kärande samt vittnen) och vad kännetecknar dem utifrån kategorier som ålder, social ställning, civilstånd, kön etc.?- Vilka genusuppfattningar ger de agerande i rätten (svarande, kärande, vittnen samt den dömande instansen) i trolldomsprocesserna?Specificeringen av brotten är kategoriserade i rykte om trolldom, vidskepelse, signeri och lövjeri samt förgörning.

Virulent strains of Staphylococcus hyicus produce exfoliative toxins and cause a potentially fatal skin disease in piglets known as exudative epidermitis. Vaccines and antimicrobials are used to control the disease. Antimicrobial resistance and the prevalence of several different toxin genes and toxigenic strains make it problematic. The aim of this literature study was to identify potential differences between countries and between healthy and diseased pigs regarding antimicrobial resistance and toxin-producing strains. Great differences could influence vaccine production, treatment strategies and surveillance programs.

Evaluating and choosing suppliers based on price alone, has traditionally been the dominant strategy for supplier selection within the purchasing function. With the origin of the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)-concept in the early 1990s, a new philosophy dawned that promoted the importance of knowing the effects of supplier performance on the buying firm?s internal costs. Since then, scholars have been arguing the case of TCO as a viable model for making purchasing decisions and conducting supplier evaluation. Still, after two decades little is known about its penetration and impact on the practices of buying corporations, leaving the questions of which costs are included in the purchasing organisations? decisions unanswered, and even more importantly why certain costs are considered and others not.

Fairy tales are commonly considered to be both timeless and classless. Since the 17th century, when most of the tales we have access to today were first collected and published, the idea that fairy tales are part of an oral tradition, and therefore more or less uninfluenced by academic and literary trends, have been dominant amongst researchers, critics and readers. This idea needs to be revaluated. Even if the tales might have their roots in an oral tradition the history of the fairy tale ?is not primarily a history of oral transmission, but rather a history of print?, as Elizabeth Wanning Harries puts it (Wanning Harries, 2001:4).

Trafficking in human beings and prostitution is an increasing occurrence within the EU. However, vast differences in legal frameworks regarding prostitution can be detected among member states.The Netherlands is an example where prostitution is regarded a legal activity. In other member states legal standings toward prostitution remain ambivalent, where Sweden here serves an example. Finally, Lithuania is among member states where prostitution is considered illegal.The purpose of this paper is therefore to study underlying attitudes and approaches that these three countries have in this rather delicate political question. By interpreting the content and quoting parts of propositions, an ideology analysis is constructed.The theory chapter consists of Rousseau?s theories, Objectivism, Radical Feminist Theory, and Sex-positive Feminist Theory.

Syfte ? Syftet med denna uppsats är att få ökad förståelse över varför kunder väljer att använda självbetjäningstjänster (SBTs) och vilken påverkan detta har på kundens roll i användandet.Design/metod/tillvägagångssätt ? Studien har en kvalitativ ansats och genomfördes med semistrukturerade intervjuer. Totalt har 31 kunder intervjuats på IKEA i Kungens Kurva, Stockholm angående deras användning och upplevelse av SBTs.Slutsats ? Studien visar flera olika faktorer som påverkar kundernas användning av SBTs till exempel dess tillgänglighet och enkelhet. Kunderna upplever deras förändrade kundroll som tyngre än tidigare och deras inställning till företaget förändras på grund av SBTs.Studiens begränsningar ? Studien har för få antal respondenter för att generalisera resultaten och vi har enbart studerat en bransch och ett företag.

Over the past twenty years, the cooperation within the European Union (EU) has strengthened and expanded with both more number of Member States and stronger influence on international politics. The unique character of the Union and its ability to enforce peace and humanitarian intervention has attracted attention in political science. This prominent position of the Union is perceived by many scholars who often hold this derived from the Union's influence in international relations. Various terms have been used to define the powers of the Union. The British researcher Ian Manners states that the unique identity of the Union in the international arena is formed by its normative power.  An important policy area within the Union is the environmental cooperation.

Denna magisteruppsats har för avsikt att öka kunskapen kring de varumärkesstrategier som brukas i varumärkesportföljer. Uppsatsen undersöker om varumärkesstrategier är ett fungerande verktyg i den rationaliserings- samt effektiviseringsprocess som råder inom dagligvaruhandeln. Åtta kvalitativa intervjuer har genomförts med dryckesansvariga på ICA, Coop samt Axfoods butiker i Lund och Helsingborg. Vidare har tre dryckesansvariga på centralnivå intervjuats på respektive företag. Undersökningen visade att varumärkesstrategier har en stor betydelse i den eskalerande konkurrensen om hyllplats.

The aim of this paper is to elucidate and analyze history teacher's didactic choices in the conflict between unequal educational materials and the requirements of equality in the curriculum of Swedish secondary school. The empirical data consists of interviews with five secondary school history teachers, observations of their lessons as well as analysis of their tests. The starting point was to investigate teachers' didactic work in the role as a bridge between the non-equal historiography presented in textbooks in history and the curriculum?s demands for equality. Three different approaches have been observed in the teachers' didactic work when considering gender perspective into their teaching: that women become extensions in a male-dominated historiography; that another part of the story is presented when a gender perspective is considered; and that the gender perspective is included in history teaching and becomes an integral part of all the content of the subject.Several of the teachers acknowledged that gender equality is less prioritized than the courses core content and related assessment criteria.

Under våren 2012 har vi utvecklat en IT-lösning åt simulatorcentralen på Saab Aeronautics i Tannefors, Linköping. Saab har en lång historia av att utveckla och tillverka flygplan med tillhörande stödsystem, bland annat Jas Gripen. De simulatorer som finns används dels för utveckling av nya mjukvaror åt flygplanen samt dels för utbildning och övning för piloter.Projektet har utförts som en del av vårt examensarbete från utbildningsprogrammet Innovativ Programmering vid Linköpings universitet.Projektet har utförts av fyra personer, där arbetet har fördelats över två stycken examensarbeten för att separera arbetet och ansvaret så mycket som möjligt. Vi delade upp arbetet så att vår grupp gjorde det bakomliggande systemet med logik, datalagring och alla funktioner. Samtidigt gjorde den parallella gruppen ett grafiskt gränssnitt i form av en websida för att använda dessa funktioner.Denna rapport beskriver det arbete som gjordes av Jesper Larsson och André Teintang.

The purpose of this study is, based on theories of gender and hegemonic masculinity, to studyhow masculinity and femininity is constructed and reproduced in one of the most popularSwedish podcast: Filip & Fredriks podcast. The main theory in this study is that gender issocially created and sustained by humans through language and interaction with others.The study's research questions is: How are gender roles/gender portrayed in Filip & Fredrik'spodcast? What characteristics are attributed to men and women in Filip & Fredrik's podcast?How does Filip & Fredrik's podcast represents conditions and power relations between menand women?Through an linguistic textual analysis, which is an application of discourse analysis, I seek toget beneath the surface meanings of texts and examine more implicit social meanings andideologies regarding gender. It includes an analysis of metaphors, word choices and syntax.The analysis shows underlying values and ideologies that indicates gender structures in abroader societal context. Choice of words and metaphores in Filip & Fredriks's podcastexpresses symbolism where men and male-typical attributes are highly valued, whilst womanand female-typical attributes is being devalued and representative of the opposite.Masculinities and femininities are also constructed and represented in various ways throughsentence constructions that guides the listeners in certain directions.

Kommissionen inledde i februari 2000 en omfattande utredning mot Microsoft baserad på Sun Microsystems klagan om Microsofts konkurrensbegränsande förfaranden 1998. Utredningen bestod av två delar; interoperabilitet mellan PC-klientoperativsystemsmarknaden och servermarknaden och integrationen av Windows Media Player i Windows. I mars 2004 kom Kommissionens beslut där de drog slutsatsen att Microsoft dubbelt missbrukat en dominerande ställning genom att förhindra effektiv konkurrens på arbetsgruppsservermarknaden och bundit sin mediaspelare till sitt operativsystem. Microsoft överklagade Kommissionens beslut till Förstainstansrätten och den 17 september 2007 kom domen, vilken i huvudsak bekräftade Kommissionens beslut. Mitt syfte i denna uppsats är att undersöka den första delen av Kommissionens beslut angående interoperabilitet och sedermera Förstainstansrättens dom, för att avgöra hur väl de dragna slutsatserna överensstämmer med praxis, vad prejudikatet kan innebära för framtiden samt i vilken mån företag kan bli skyldiga att lämna ut information.I min analys och de avslutande kommentarerna redogör jag för min slutsats att Kommissionens beslut och Förstainstansrättens dom faktiskt är skäliga, men att prejudikatet måste vaktas av de exceptionella omständigheter som föreligger i fallet.
