This Masters thesis work describes a comparison between two different methods for estimation of the down channel (base station to mobile subscriber) in Wide-band Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA). The first estimation method, Optimal Feed-forward Channel Estimation (OFCE), is a conventional method that bases the estimates on data that is known to both sender and receiver, so called pilots. The second method, Decision Directed Channel Estimation (DDCE), is an elaboration of OFCE. It also uses user data for estimation. Simulations show that DDCE, in comparison to OFCE, does not attain an improvement in signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) for high bit error rates (BER).

Syftet med denna studie är att beskriva mäns upplevelser av att träna damlag jämfört med herrlag i fotboll.Med intervjuer som var halvstukturerade intervjuades fem män som har tränat kvinnor i damallsvenskan samt män i lägst division 3. Induktiv tematisk analys användes som bearbetningsmetod.

This is a master thesis work carried out at the Department of Energy and Environment atthe Division of Electric Power Engineering. The master thesis work describes the theoryof distance protection relaying in 130 kV meshed distribution networks. The main aim ofthe thesis was to construct an Excel application for calculation and documentation of thesettings for distance protection relays. The program is based on general methods forcalculating settings of the different zones for the distance relay and presents the settingsin simple graphics using quadrilateral characteristics.The reason for building an Excel based application is the great variety of distanceprotection relays in live networks. The manufacturers of distance protection relays makeprogram for documentation available, however, they are based on the typical settings forthe specific relays.

Detta examensarbete har utförts på Peab division Väst, en del av Peab-koncernen som är ett av Sveriges största byggföretag. Studien syftar till att ur ett byggföretags perspektiv identifiera vilka områden som bör mätas med hjälp av indikatorer för att bli en hållbar samhällsbyggare.Hållbar utveckling är ett begrepp och förhållningssätt som ständigt växer och anpassas mot olika branscher. Tankesättet är dock det samma oavsett bransch, att uppfylla dagens krav och behov utan att äventyra kommande generationers möjligheter att tillgodose sina behov. Peab har fram till idag inte haft en tydlig strategi för hur företaget ska arbeta mot en hållbar utveckling, men i och med den nya visionen som togs fram hösten 2010 är tanken att företaget ska hitta ett arbetssätt att förhålla sig till. I samband med visionen framställdes en definition som bygger på begreppet hållbar utveckling och innehåller riktlinjer för en hållbar samhällsbyggare.Peab vill uppnå en hållbar produktion, där kan varje färdigt byggprojekt ses som en slutprodukt.

Volvo Hauler & Loader Division in Arvika produces wheel loaders which they deliverthroughout the world. The different models stretch from L60E all theway up to the brand new L350F, with a loader capacity from six tons up to a staggering 35.The assembly of the different models are divided into three different assembly lines, Small(L60-L90), Medium (L110-L120) and Large (L150-L220). During the last 15 years the Swedish media market has developed a great deal, thanks to the rise of new media. Literature, articles and investigations have contributed to producing the chapter of background of this essay. How the local newspaper and its organization has changed over time is being accounted in this essay. From the newspaper being the only product on the market to now having a spread out product portfolio. By doing the qualitative interview with research representatives of six local newspapers the aimis to answer the following questions: Who were your competitors 15 years ago? Who are your competitiors today? In what way has the increased competition changed your way of working at the division of advertisement and how do you consider the the increase of mediachannels having affected the customer? How do you see the future? The main results show that all six representatives agree on the fact that the competition has increased during the last 15 years.

The purpose with this essay is to get a deeper insight into why there is a lack of male educators in Swedish preschools. I also want to know which role the male educators have in comparison to the female educators. This essay builds on four questions, which covers:The cause of the lack of males in Swedish preschoolsIf there are any gender bound expectations on male educators in the Swedish preschoolsWhat the woman educators perceive about the roles of the male educators in the Swedish preschoolsHow the male educator experience his own work in a workplace dominated by womenThe method I have used is a qualitative interview study in which I have interviewed four male educators and two woman educators from three different preschools. The result of this study shows that male educators gave different reasons to why there is a lack of male educators in Swedish childcare. According to the male educators the reason for this situation is that there is a worry to be seen as a feminine person, get singled out as a pedophile and that the childcare sector has low status.

Location-based services (LBS) contains of services helping users of finding positions of themselves or other objects. LBS applications can present information in varies types of ways, these could be threw speech, text, geographic symbols, photos etc. Not many studies have been done to examine the aspects of LBS communication and there is a demand for user and context centered mapping.The purpose of this report is to present a model for the development of user and context based services. The model will give guide lines of recommendations when implementing LBS. The different technologies that support LBS will also be noticed.

Inledning: Människans utsläpp av växthusgaser påverkar klimatet kraftigt, internationellt samarbete är avgörande för att minska det globala utsläppet. EU:s utsläppshandel inleddes i januari 2005 och omfattar ca 1300 anläggningar inom industri och energi produktion. Terminer på utsläppsrätter introducerades i april 2005 och i samband med det öppnades European Climate Exchange som idag är den ledande och mest likvida marknadsplatsen för handel med utsläppsrätter i Europa och internationellt. I enlighet med hur aktiepriser påverkas av utomstående faktorer generellt på aktiemarknader vill författarna undersöka om priserna på utsläppsrätter påverkas av en utomstående faktor.Syfte: Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur priset på utsläppsrätter på ECX spotmarknad reagerar på klimatmötet i Köpenhamn samt om marknaden för utsläppsrätter är effektiv.Metod: Genom att använda finansiella marknadsdata kan en eventstudie mäta vilka följder ett specifikt event har på det undersökta objektet. För att kunna värdera hur eventet påverkar priset på utsläppsrätter tillämpas en uträkning av den abnorma avkastningen, vilket är den verkliga avkastningen minus den normala avkastningen under eventfönstret.Teoretisk referensram: Det teoretiska angreppssättet kommer att utgöras av den effektiva marknadshypotesen.

A study of paleomagnetic remanence and anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) has been performed on the Öje-Diabase in Dalarna, Sweden, and on basic dikes associated with the alkaliquartzsyenite/granite Noran-pluton in central Sweden. Based on isolation of directions of characteristic magnetization in the basic rocks, a division into three different groups (A,B,C) has been made. Group Aconsists of dolerites of Jotnian origin, both dolerites from the Öje-Diabase and dikes associated with the Noran-pluton are included in this group, making them coeval. Group B is suspected to show a re-magnetization from the later part of the Svekonorwegian orogeny. Group C belongs to the Blekinge-Dalarna-Dolerites (BDD). Thermal demagnetization of dolerites revealed two different types of demagnetization behaviours, one where magnetite clearly was the source of the remanence, and an other with a linear decrease in magnetization intensity. The measurements of magnetic anisotropy reveals a magnetic fabric with an almost horizontal foliation and a lineation that indicates a fairly uniform NNW/ S-SE flow direction of the magma..
