The purpose of this study is to examine how risk is perceived by the urban architect's in the region Dalarna, as well as how this is reflected in their everyday work with risk and decision- making according to urban planning. The ambition is also to show how their risk awareness could be improved. The study is written in cooperation with Länsstyrelsen Dalarna as a part of their regional long-term goal to improve the region's proactive risk' and crisis management. The study is based upon 12 semi-structured interviews with local urban architects conducted during the summer and autumn 2007. The result shows that some architects are motivated for working with risk and think that risk awareness should be integrated in their everyday work, while others are not motivated and think that risk is more of a passing trend.

Tidigare forskning har visat att mindfulness kan höja livskvaliteten inom en rad områden som till exempel välbefinnande, inre motivation och prestation. Dock saknas studier om dess inverkan på arbetslivet. Syftet med den här uppsatsen var att undersöka vilken roll mindfulness eventuellt kan spela för människan i arbetslivet, särskilt för arbetstillfredsställelse och arbetsmotivation.  Respondenter var 103 yrkesverksamma individer i olika åldrar och från olika yrkesgrupper, varav 78 kvinnor. En kvantitativ enkätstudie gjordes där respondenterna självskattade 81 påståenden bestående av de tre etablerade mätinstrumenten Five Facet Mindfulness Questionairre (FFMQ), Work Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation Scale (WEIMS) och An Index of Job Satisfaction.

Med anledning av den debatt som förts i media om svaveldirektivets införande blev vi intresserade av attsammanställa olika instanser syn på direktivet samt hur deras intentioner förhåller sig till varandra. Med detta som utgångspunkt utvidgade vi arbetet till att studera flera typer av styrmedel. I resultatet har vi presenterat en sammanställning av intervjuer vi utfört med svenska politiker, hamnar och befraktare. Vi kom fram till att svaveldirektivet behövs för att åstadkomma en reducering av sjöfartens utsläpp av miljögifter men att direktivet inte kommer kunna uppfyllas av alla fartyg på grund av brist på lågsvavelhaltigt bränsle, stora hinder för LNG drift och tekniska problem med skrubbers. Skatt på marina bränslen och utsläppsrätter för sjöfarten som styrmedel bedömdes inte vara aktuellt inom en överskådlig framtid.

To establish sustainability reports is an increasing trend for more and more companies. This has led to a spread of the international framework Global reporting initiative, GRI, guidelines to make a sustainability reports. This trend has got a lot of critics from various stakeholders who believe that companies in these reports communicate the information in a way of window dressing. Both negative and positive information has to be represented according to GRI: s principle of balance.  Window dressing is created by adding a greater emphasis on the positive information. The researchers review the context of the negative information to study the extent to which it is reported and whether there are patterns and variations in the reported information.

Previous research has discussed how voluntary disclosure relates to the cost of equity capital. Theories of estimation risk support a negative association between disclosure and cost of equity capital, as empirically documented by Botosan (1997) among others. In this Bachelor thesis we investigate whether such a relationship exists on the Swedish capital market. Using the CAPM to estimate the cost of equity capital and a disclosure index based on Aktiespararen?s annual evaluation of corporate disclosure, we test a model where disclosure explains cost of equity capital.

Studien avser att studera effekterna av arbetsplatsförlagd fysisk träning 2 x 60 minuter/vecka i 7 veckor hos personer med stillasittande arbete påVO2max, rörlighet, uthållighetsstyrka och kroppssammansättning. Vi använder oss av en kvantitativ metod som består av datainsamling genom tester före och efter träningsperioden för både interventionsgruppen (n=25) och kontrollgruppen (n=11). Resultaten visar på signifikanta skillnader hos interventionsgruppen på variablerna VO2max (p=0), visceralt fett (p=0,001), fettmassa (p=0,001), vikt (p=0.006), Body Mass Index, BMI (p=0,005), uthållighetsstyrka enligt Sörensens isometriska uthållighetstest (SIU) (p=0) och Trunk Curl Static Endurance test (TCST) (p=0,045), rörlighet i halsrygg (p=0,010) och rörlighet i hamstringsmuskulatur via Sit and reach test (p=0).  Inga skillnader ses i blodtryck och, skelettmuskelmassa i armar, bål och ben. Inga signifikanta skillnader ses hos kontrollgruppen oavsett variabel. Slutsatser av studien är att man kan se effekter genom denna typ av intervention på flera olika variabler och förslag till framtida forskning är att försöka utesluta samverkan av andra faktorer för att ge en mer exakt bild av den fysiska träningens effekter på arbetsplatsförlagd träning..

These sites have been exposed to ecological disturbances that create the same type of habitats that were found in the old cultural landscape.The military training sites in Sweden has an impressive diversity of species. Disturbances from the military exercises have created habitats that are important for a wide range of species.The purpose of this thesis is to study some of the ecological disturbances occurring in the military training sites of the Swedish Armed Forces and examine how they affect different types of habitats. The thesis explains through litterateur and field studies the reason to the rich biodiversity often found at military training sites.

Denna studie påvisar en signifikant skillnad i hur kvinnor och män uppger att de går och rör sig genom två studerade grönområden. Ett utfall som är förväntat utifrån tidigare forskning som menar att kvinnors rörelsemönster begränsas av ett upplevt, såväl som reellt, hot om våld. Teorin om brist på trygghet och dess inverkan på rörelsefriheten benämns rädslans geografi, men det är dock tveksamt om teorin rädslans geografi räcker för att förklara hela den skillnad mellan kvinnor och män som uppmätts. Att identifiera eventuella andra faktorer kopplade till könstillhörighet som påverkar rörelsemönstren blir en uppgift för framtida forskning. The purpose of this comparative study is to investigate if the views of Sayyid Qutb and Tariq Ramadan regarding social structure and religion are possible to unite with western liberal democracy. The basis of the study is the problematizing approaches written by Qutb and Ramadan regarding the possible unity between Islam and democracy. These problematizing approaches are then tested on the political philosophy of liberalism to see if a unity is possible.The result showed that Qutb's view did not meet the criteria of democracy, which wasn't surprising due to his negative views on the system. However, Ramadan's reformist view on Muslim identity did unite with the views of liberal democracy, though questions regarding the possibility of creating and preserving a European Muslim identity in the secular society were immediately brought to attention.The importance in Qutb's view is social equality, unity and submission to God and the importance of Ramadan's view is to create and preserve a European Muslim identity and adapt to the society where you live and participate as a citizen. Qutb's view will not tolerate diversity and one is to keep or convert to the Muslim faith.

Pairs trading is a relatively new trading strategy, the strategy has only been used during a couple of decades. A study made on the American stock market has shown that the strat-egy has generated a positive result. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate if pairs trad-ing has been able to create a positive result on the Swedish stock market during the time period of 1995-2004.The data required for this thesis was collected from Stockholm stock exchange and is ad-justed for splits and issues.The pairs trading strategy involves two stages ? identification of pairs and trading signals. The pairs were identified during a period of 12 months.
