Arlanda airport is Sweden?s largest airport. The demand for comfort cooling of the airport?s buildings is high and is mainly provided by District cooling. District cooling is based on the same principle as District heating.

Heat is distributed to the District heating customers through pipes with water as a heat carrier. The District heating system is complex. To decide what is leakages from the District heating net versus what is the water consumption of the plant, is difficult. Therefore, the purpose of this master thesis is to establish a model where the District heating net?s leakages but also the water consumption of the plant can be followed daily. The project is performed at Vattenfall´s District heating power plant in Uppsala. Information is gathered through discussions, drawings of the plant and guided tours of the plant.

Background One of the main demands on Swedish and global health care in general is to meet the patient?s need for safety. By general health care law this also comprises District nurses? field of responsibility. Although there are numerous studies describing the concept of safety and its different shapes, no research could be found exploring how safety is, or supposed to be, mediated by District nurses? in a Swedish context.

Background: In 1994 came the general prescription law in force for the District nurses with specific training in pharmacology and pathology in Sweden. According to The National Board of Health and Welfare from 2004 follow-up of the use of the prescription law revealed that nearly half of the District nurses used their prescription once a week. According to previous research the District nurses and patients were positive to the District nurses administration of prescriptions. Doctors, contrariwise, were not as favorable to the District nurses administration of prescriptions. The responsibility of the heads of the health centers is to promote the District nurses to prescribe and make sure that it works in a satisfactory manner.

Background: The District nurses profession has traditionally been health promotion. In order to find patients with excessive alcohol intake, District nurses use AUDIT. Research shows that health professionals find it difficult to face alcohol abusers in primary care. AIM: The aim is to describe how District nurses work with AUDIT. Method: Semi-structured interviews with six informants were carried out.

AbstractThe aim of the study was to describe District nurses experiences meeting intimate of cancer patients in home care. The study had a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The sample consisted of ten District nurses employed in primary health care, working in emergency duty in a District in the Middle of Sweden. The results are presented from the two categories; to communicate and being competent, which was formulated to one theme. The theme ?Being safe in one´s professional role, being aware of possibilities and difficulties when encountering intimates in home care?.

Optimizing energy systems is, in Sweden, as in many other countries, of growing interest. District heating systems are no exception. This thesis is largely about museums and their role and development in and for society. With a field/case study of the District Six Museum in Cape Town, we try to encapsulate a modern function for museums within a context of 1) the current worldwide discussion on museums and their future, and 2) the development of a new democratic nation in South Africa, and museums possible role in that process. Through analysis of interviews made with concerned people within and outside the District Six museum weintend to get a picture of the views on this particular museum and its role and function, for its community and society at large, plus for other museums, as a possible role model. We find that this museum might be close to a type of museum that has been asked for by museologists and others in recent times..

The main question is; how the public library develops in Bergunda large rural District 1951-1970. The Swedish Government has set a target to reduce energy consumption through energy efficiency within the construction and real estate sector. The purpose of the study is to examine how energy efficiency within this sector could affect the District heating volume in the future, on basis of Vattenfalls District heating system in Uppsala.An Excel model has been created to study how energy effficiency measures affects District heating demand in buildings by 2045, based on technical and economicalconditions. Furthermore, an interview study has been conducted to examine incentives for District heating customers to invest in energy efficiency measures.Result of the Excel model shows that the District heating volume of Vattenfall in 2045 is expected to 931 GWh, which corresponds to a volume decrease of 10,6 %. Based on the study?s theoretical framework only 15 %, 1 024 GWh, of the technical-economical potential is assumed to be implemented.

Aim: The aim of this study is to highlight the newly qualified District nurse experiences in developing professional identity and describe on how this development affects nursing.Method: In the pilot study a qualitative method with an inductive approach was used, and data collection was made by four semi-structured interviews. The interviews were analyzed using qualitative content analysis.

There are several energy systems in the Swedish society and to ensure the comfort and health of the citizens it is of importance that the different energy systems are functioning properly. District heating is one of these energy systems and many household depend only on District heating to warm up their homes. District heating is dependent on several processes where every step needs to function in order to deliver the produced heat to the end consumer. Previous studies have investigated the distribution of District heating and how to make customers choose District heating as their heating method. The supply of fuel to the District heating plant has not been studied as much, even though it is an important part of the whole system. This thesis is a part of the project NORD-STAR (Nordic Strategic Adaption Research), which has focused on climate adaption in the Nordic countries.

The demand for District heating is expected to decrease in the future, due to competition from heat pumps and energy efficiency measures in buildings. Development of existing District heating systems is therefore necessary for District heating companies to maintain market shares. This Master?s thesis describes and investigates the heat and electricity production and profitability of a combined Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) and heat pump that is integrated with an existing District heating system. The studied District heating system is utilizing heat from waste incineration. In Sweden waste constitute 20 % of the fuel mix used in District heating systems, and this share is expected to increase in the future.
