Silviculture in young stands in Sweden is below the mark concerning what has to be done in the forest, and it is time to solve the problem. The problem will not be solved only by the private forest owners, professional help is needed. Skogsägarna Mellanskog is one of four forest unions in Sweden who wants to play a role and take responsibility for forestry in the middle of Sweden. This academic essay is based on a market survey sent to 350 forest owners in the Örebro district. 186 of them answered the questions, giving a response frequence of 53 percentage. The purpose of the essay is to find the determining factors which will make a forest owner to find a collaborator when planning and carrying out the silviculture measures in young stands. The result of the survey shows that the forest owners are anxious about the price and the costs. The costs have a severe effect if the silviculture measures in young stands will be carried out or not.

SammanfattningSyftet med studien var att utifrån distriktssköterskors berättelser beskriva deras arbete med palliativa patienter inom hemsjukvård samt deras upplevelse av arbetet. Studien hade en beskrivande design och tio distriktssköterskor från fem olika hälsocentraler i Mellansverige deltog i studien. Data samlades in via semistrukturerade intervjuer och analyserades utifrån kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultatet redovisas utifrån kategorier som bildade två teman. Temat ?Att balansera mellan nuet och planera slutet ? att vara steget före? framkom ur kategorierna Att se patientens livssituation och utföra omvårdnadsåtgärder, Att strukturera arbetet, Att stödja och ha kontakt med närstående, Att uppleva utvecklings och utbildningsbehov samt Att vara professionell i sitt förhållningssätt och beskriver distriktssköterskornas upplevelse av att vårda palliativa patienter.

In this thesis an energy analysis of ethanol production at the ethanol plant of Lantmännen Agroetanol in Norrköping has been performed. The ethanol plant has been studied in combination with Händelöverket, the combined heat and power plant which provides the ethanol process with steam. The purpose of this study was to determine the energy consumption for the whole production chain from grain to ethanol. The analysis has included the energy consumption for cultivation of grain, production of chemicals, the production chain for wood chips, the steam production and the ethanol plant. The grain and wood chips are both considered raw materials there for the energy content in these are not included as energy input in the system.

AbstractDelta Terminal owns an outdated industrial building which they now rent out to businesses. This property currently has a high energy con-sumption and therfore it is desirable to improve the efficiency. In ordet to reduce the energy consumption within the industrial building enve-lope, the heating systems and lighting are being investegated. A good building envelope emits less heat and thus reduces the energy consump-tion. An energy audit is a tool used to determine the energy loss.

The purpose of this thesis is to describe and analyse the development of the public library in the district of Österåker during a period of 1958-1983. The main goals have been to identify the crucial events in the history of the library within their historical context and to analyse the factors that have been important for the development: financing, location, staffing, stock of books, book-lending level and different activities for children, youngsters and adults. The consideration has been taken to reasons and consequences of these events. The hermeneutic interpretation model of interaction between parts and wholes, between reasons and results is the basic method in this research which leans mainly upon local archives in Österåker. The public library in Österåker was established in 1952 as a fusion of previously existing small libraries: the parish library in Östra Ryd, the Labour Movement?s library and the temperance movement?s library.

Barnamordsplakatet (a Infanticide Proclamation) of 1778 was a circular allowing unmarried mothers to give birth at an undisclosed location without giving up the name of the father. The proclamation was supposed to ease the situation for the unwed mother in Sweden.The aim was to investigate whether women in Assembly of Hällefors, far from government and close to remote forest Finnskogen, was affected by the Infanticide Proclamation, between 1771 and 1830.Case studies has been done on people who had illegitimate children, if they were convicted, what the crime was and what the punishment was. The investigation is made at a local level and compared against national analyzes on the same theme.A lot of illegitimate children were born in Grythyttan nearby and slightly less in Hällefors, compared to other places of Sweden. Mothers and fathers were convicted in the district court for crimes, including, sexual intercourse between unmarried persons. More women than men were convicted.

With the climate change issues growing in importance on the social agenda, the field of urban masterplanning is of no exception when it comes to minimizing the carbon footprint in a variety of projects. The aim of this thesis has been to prepare the Carbon Critical Masterplanning tool, a software plugin for carbon dioxide emissions assessment developed by Atkins, to be used in Swedish conditions. The main targets were to improve the areas of the tool associated with energy conversion and renewable energy sources, and to test the tool in a real case. A planned construction of a new campus in Albano, Stockholm was chosen for the pilot study. A 3D model was built in the tool and the carbon footprint was calculated for a variety of combinations for energy supply to the future area. The results show that use of locally installed renewable energy sources can reduce the total climate impact when life cycle perspective is applied.

Värmeböljorna blir allt vanligare i Sverige vilket kommer kosta sjukvården miljardbelopp. Hur kan denna trend motverkas? Träd kanske inte är hela lösningen på problemet, men är en hjälp på vägen. Det urbana landskapet har idag högre temperatur än omgivande landsbygd. Detta fenomen, den så kallade urbana värmeö-effekten, beror bland annat på att hårdgjorda ytor absorberar solenergi, antropogena källor utsöndrar värme, luftföroreningar fungerar som växthusgaser och bristen av nerkylande vegetation. Dessa faktorer bidrar till en ohållbar temperaturstigning. Kandidatarbetets mål har varit att ta reda på hur träd bidrar till en temperatursänkning inne i städerna och att identifiera urvalskriterier för att välja träd ur temperatursynpunkt som samtidigt fungerar i urbana miljöer.

The current field of research concerning the impact of railroads in Sweden beside from the State main-line network is relatively narrow. Including cultural impact to the area narrows the results even further. The purpose of this study is to open the field even more into the local societies and to what extent the impact of the introduction of railroad might have had on smaller county villages. Sweden holds a unique position concerning ?station towns? or ?railways towns? in terms of railway policy and the industrial development in towns that were affected by the railway, as the affected towns continued development were based on a hybrid between direct democracy and adaptations of city-law policies.This study takes place in Kisa, a small town in southern Östergötland that during the beginning of the 20th century turned into a municipal community due to the building of Östra centralbanan (roughly translated Eastern central-line).

Människor med rygg- och nackvärk utgör en stor patientgrupp inom primärvården. Många blir inte hjälpta av de behandlingsmetoder som erbjuds. Samtidigt efterfrågas Komplementär och Alternativ Medicinska (KAM) behandlingar allt mer från allmänheten. Behovet att öka hälso- och sjukvårdens kunskap om KAM som behanlingsalternativ sågs. Studiens syfte var att beskriva människors erfarenheter i samband med rygg- och nackvärk och reflexologisk behandling.

För att kunna främja god folkhälsa och omvårdnad samt utjämna ojämlik hälsa ställer den ökade migrationen med en ökad andel utrikesfödda högre krav på distriktssköterskors och sjuksköterskors kommunikation i vårdmötet.Syfte: Att undersöka vilka strategier distriktssköterskan/sjuksköterskan inom primärvård använde för att överbrygga språkbarriärer samt att undersöka om det fanns något samband mellan dessa strategier och hur sjuksköterskan uppfattade kvaliteten i omvårdnaden.Metod: Jämförande och deskriptiv tvärsnittsstudie med kvantitativ ansats. Enkäter sändes ut till sjuksköterskor på vårdcentraler i kommuner med hög andel utrikesfödda. Resultat: De strategier vilka framförallt användes var kroppsspråk samt professionell tolk.  Sjuksköterskorna uppfattade att kvaliteten i omvårdnaden vid språkbarriärer var relativt hög. Medelstarka samband framkom dels mellan uppfattad patientdelaktighet och användande av professionell tolk och dels mellan omvårdnadskvalitet och användande av material för omvårdnadsåtgärder. Signifikanta skillnader gällande omvårdnadskvalitet samt hur sjuksköterskorna uppfattade kvaliteten i kommunikationen framkom. Slutsats: Förutom att sjuksköterskor på ett adekvat sätt använder samt utvecklar olika strategier för att överbrygga språkbarriärer, kan även ett varmt och professionellt bemötande ha betydelse i kommunikationen för att uppnå god omvårdnad samt folkhälsa..

Bakgrund: Vetskapen om att barn utsätts för övergrepp, kränkningar eller försummelse berör oss människor starkt. Utsatthet är när en vuxen person utsätter ett barn för fysiskt eller psykiskt våld, sexuella övergrepp, kränkningar eller försummar att tillgodose barnets grundläggande behov. Distriktssköterskans roll i barnhälsovården är att minska skadlig påfrestning för barnföräldrar samt att minska hälsoproblem för barnfamiljen och ge stöd och vård till barn och föräldrar. Syftet med studien var att undersöka distriktssköterskans erfarenhet av att arbeta med utsatta barn och deras familjer, samt hur distriktssköterskan stödjer och bemöter familjen. Metod: Åtta distriktssköterskor intervjuades och kvalitativ innehållsanalys med induktiv ansats användes för att analysera data.

I detta examensarbete har termiska förhållanden undersökts för modulen eSite som är under utveckling av företaget Flexenclosure. eSite omvandlar och riktar ström från en mängd olika producenter och skickar denna vidare till förbrukare. Kylning av komponenter tänkta att sitta inuti eSite har simulerats och analyserats. Komponenterna är placerade på en värmesänka, över vilken naturlig konvektion uppkommer. Denna företeelse har undersökts med hjälp av både manuella beräkningar och datorstödda flödessimuleringsberäkningar (CFD) i mjukvaran Ansys® 14.5 och beräkningsverktyget Fluent?.
