To Swedes in general and, to hunters in particular, there is a great interest for moose (Alces alces), witch is Sweden?s largest deer species. In the province of Öland (Sweden?s second largest island) the local people show a great interest for the moose existence, both for consumptive (hunting) and non-consumptive use (tourism). This became apparent in 2002 when the moose hunters on Öland voluntary agreed to temporarily postpone the moose hunt on the island.

Idag domineras den svenska skogsbranschen av manlig arbetskraft. Det uttrycker sig extra tydligt i ledningsgrupperna där andelen kvinnor är ännu lägre. Däremot ser man en uppåtgående trend gällande kvinnor som anställs till personalledande positioner. Syftet med studien är att undersöka tankar och åsikter hos chefer med personalansvar angående en jämnare könsfördelning, med hänsyn till olika mål och andra påverkande faktorer vid rekrytering på Norra Skogsägarna. Studien baseras på kvalitativa intervjuer genom fysiskt möte med sju respondenter från Norra Skogsägarnas alla fyra industrier samt huvudkontor. Alla personer som intervjuades har personalansvar. De intervjuade har en positiv syn på mål kopplade till jämställdhet vid rekrytering. Den positiva synen gäller både det egna företagets och branschorganisationen Skogsindustriernas uppsatta mål inom detta område.

Research question: How does the industrial company Scania work to get more women in leadership positions?Purpose: The purpose of this work is to describe how companies in a male-dominated industry can work to get a higher share of female leaders.Method: This survey was based on a deductive approach with a qualitative method. Theories have been obtained primarily from scientific articles and the empirical part has been collected through interviews from the companies Wiminvest and Scania.Conclusion: The conclusions the study came up with was different elements that companies in male-dominated industries can work with to get a higher share of female leaders. The first thing that companies can do is to join the project BON or similar projects to work on this issue. They can work with workshops and lectures to disseminate knowledge about the topic.

Värmeförbrukningen för småhus minskar varje år genom att hus med allt tätare och bättre klimatskal byggs. Vid en lägre värmeförbrukning är frågan om de traditionella metoderna för värme och ventilation är ett bra alternativ för att upprätthålla ett bra inomhusklimat eller kan nya effektivare metoder erhålla ett liknande inomhusklimat med mindre investeringskostnader.Detta examensarbete är en förstudie där inomhus klimatet studerats genom datorbaserade flödessimuleringar. I studien har en modell för att på ett enkelt sätt använda CFD simuleringar (datorstödda flödessimuleringar) för att studera inomhusklimatet genom att en modell har byggs upp i tre steg för att erhålla stabila resultat av ett lågenergihus framtaget av Glommershus med avseende på konvergens krav och turbulensmodell.Studier på olika lösningar för Distribution av värme har undersökts genom att resultat från modeller med radiatorer, golvvärme samt en luftvärmepump för tre olika fall på utomhus temperatur. Resultatet betraktas med hänsyn till boverkets regler för nybyggnationer av småhus.I resultatet framkom att bygga upp modellen i tresteg är att föredra vid CFD-simuleringar för ett lågenergihus genom att en rad tidsbesparande detaljer görs. Även att CFD som simulerings verktyg kan användas för att utvärdera olika lösningar för värme och ventilation på ett smidigt sätt.Vid radiatorer och golvvärme visar resultatet på att temperatur gradienterna horisontellt varierar mycket lite.

Trafikstockning och försämrad stadsmiljö är negativa effekter som kan förknippas med en dåligt fungerande godsDistribution. Citylogistik handlar om att kontrollera och optimera godstransporter i urbana områden (city) så att negativa effekter minimeras.Olika typer av citylogistiska åtgärder och koncept har identifierats. Till dem hör till exempel samDistribution, reglering av godstransporter och avancerade IT-system. Inom ramen för projektet SAMLIC, som startades i Linköping 2004, genomfördes pilotförsöket PILOT med det övergripande syftet att utvärdera ekonomisk potential med samDistribution i Linköpings city.

?Claiming the right to space? is an argument frequently used by street artists for justifying illegal art in the public space. The public city space as a room of democracy and right to free speech is by some people considered threatened by commercial interests, and street art has become a way to demonstrate disapproval towards this. Street art is illegal and often anonymously performed in our cities. It developed in the late 1970s from the urban graffiti scene in America, and has therefore a lot in common with the graffiti movement.

Introduction: Although life expectancy had increased in Sweden for many decades and several health problems had diminished over time, there was no change in men's risk behaviour regarding for instance high alcohol and tobacco consumption. Many of the gender differences in health that existed in society explained were due to power structures and beliefs about behaviour based on gender; a social construction that resulted in the relatively high valuation of men with a more masculine behaviour. Aim: This literature review aimed to study and identify the scientific knowledge regarding paternity leave and its impact on men's health. Method: A literature- based study design was used and the material consisted of peer-reviewed articles from which six themes were identified: alcohol, tobacco, stress, isolation, social support and mortality risk. Results: Divided into three parts, the results described the socioeconomic background of the men who took paternity leave, as well as the impact of paternity leave and masculinity as an impact on men's health.

Obesity is a growing global health problem among both humans and cats with the risk of several medical conditions as a result. This can be detected and prevented by body condition assessment methods in order to visualize and detect possible or potential weight problems in cats.To achieve the best results, owner and cat should be introduced to this as soon as possible in their contact with veterinary care.Purina Body Condition System and Walthams Feline Body Mass Index are both morphometric assessment methods that are quick, relatively cheap and simple to perform. 20 cats with owners and a veterinary nurse student participated in a study to compare pet owners and a veterinary nurse student's assessment of the Purina Body Condition System and WALTHAM's Feline Body Mass Index. The body condition assessment methods were compared with each other, and it was investigated which method was preferred, the body condition Distribution among the studied cats and if long-haired cats' body condition was more often misjudged. Results of the study showed a significant difference between pet owners and the veterinary nurse student's assessment of Purina BCS with a difference in median of 1.

I aim to describe how they use file sharing, their knowledge about it, how their usage have changed due to the new copyright law, what their stands are on the question of resource control and management on the Internet, and what they think of the future of file sharing.Material/Method: The method being used is a qualitative focus group interview model, used to investigate how young people look at the subject of file sharing. The results of the interviews is then applied to a theoretical framework based on thoughts of Denis McQuail, Lawrence Lessig concerning creativity, copyright, resource management and file sharing on the InternetMain Results: My conclusion is that the widespread file sharing habits of young people is not only caused by the temptation of getting free stuff, but of the lack of commercial and legal alternatives. Youths are willing to pay for media if the Distribution is superior to the illegal file sharing alternative. They are a generation of young people that has grown up in a society where the tendency in many fields has been to make everything faster and more effective.

Assessment of impacts on nature and reindeer husbandry by the considered mountain road between Borgafjäll and Saxnäs- Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institutes method for assessment of damage to heritage assetsThere are plans regarding the building of a new road from Borgafjäll/Båtas to Saxnäs, and two road alternatives have been presented. The road has been localized to an area which is protected as a nature reserve and listed as a Nature 2000 area. This report aims to determine the effects on the Nature 2000 area and reindeer husbandry, and to be a source of knowledge for future environmental impact assessment in that project. In order to assess the impact on nature values and reindeer husbandry a method from the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI) has been used. A literature review has been made to prescribe the effects and consequences.

I det här projektet har uppgiften varit att rena vattnet i Aqua Interiör i Laholms egen tillverkade vattenmöbel med hjälp av uv-ljus. Dessa möbler hyr de ut till kunder för att kunna få ett lagom kallt vatten med eller utan kolsyra. Vattenmöblerna är direkt kopplade till det befintliga vattensystemet. Ett problem som de tidigare haft är att de inte kunnat ha sina möbler på sjukhus eftersom möblens beskaffenhet medför en ökad bakteriehalt i vattnet.Denna bakteriehalt kommer dock inte upp till den gräns som livsmedelverkets satt som icke tjänligt. På sjukhus finns ett högre krav på vattnets kvalité där inga anmärkningar får finnas på vattnet.

The interest in small-scale electricity in Sweden has increased strongly in recent years. The interest is noticeable both among politicians to increase the share of renewables in the energy mix, and among electricity consumers to partially replace purchased electricity with self-produced. This has resulted in a significant increase of electricity production in low voltage grids in recent years, and the trend appears to continue in the coming years. The majority of the new production plants are solar cells, followed by wind turbines, and it is also in these the greatest efforts are made in this paper.Distributed generation is often seen as something positive since it will contribute to reduced transmission losses and reduced voltage drop in the networks, and that it increases the share of electricity from renewable sources. In cases where the grids are not strong enough, or in other ways not adapted to manage the installed production, power quality may be adversely affected.

During the past few years, universities and other research institutions throughout the world have established institutional repositories to manage, preserve and provide access to the intellectual output of the university/research institution. The purpose of this master?s thesis is to describe the implementation of an institutional repository at the Swedish University College of Borås.
