This bachelor-level thesis in historical osteology deals with several aspects of the life-cycle of an RomanIron Age farm in southern Scania. Excavated in the 1980's by Lars Larsson, the farm was located near aplace called Långåker in the Dybäck area, on a cape which stretched out into a minor bog. Our work concerns why the Iron Age people settled the area, how well fragmented bone survives in a bog, what they produced at the farm and how life on the farm finally ended. From the roughly 10 % of the total number of fragments we where able to identify we can conclude, that he species that are present of the farm areusual Iron Age species (dog, sheep/goat, cattle and swine). We also have a relitivly large number of wildanimals in our material (2%).
Driving forces of land use : underlying factors in peri-urban land use
Swedish agriculture faces future challenges regarding food production and land use. Increased competition for agricultural land creates complex situations, where conflicts may arise when productive crop land is in demand not only for food production but also energy- and fodder production. On top of that there is an obvious conflict of goals between agricultural production and non-agricultural exploitation of agricultural land. In several emerging economic regions it is noticeable how agricultural land is being expropriated for development of urban settlement and infrastructure, carrying potentially significant long-term effects.
During the last decade the exploitation of agricultural land in activities other than food production has increased in Sweden and is expected to continue in the same manor. Approximately 700 hectare of land in Sweden is diverted from food production, annually, and in 2013, the Uppsala Municipality showed the greatest change in land use of all municipalities (SCB, 2013).
Livet mellan husen : ett utvecklingsförslag för Disagården
The open air museum of Disagården is situated in the Old Uppsala parish,
Uppsala municipality, are projected to portray a double row village, before
the land enclosure, on the Uppsala plain during the 1860s and 1870s.
Disagården operates under the County Museum of Uppland and serves as an
exhibit of Uppland's farming culture during the late 19th century. However, an
open-air museum is a complex institution where many interests are linked
together. Disagården aims to simultaneously portray an historical
environment while offering broad public appeal.
The Disagården open air museum was inaugurated in 1931 and consists of
relocated buildings that together form three farm complexes "Gränbygården",
"Skuttungegården" and "Bärbygården".
The thesis explores how the close surroundings of a typical farm in
Uppland looked during the 1860s and 1870s. This historical depiction has then
been applied to Disagården in a development suggestion creating a
foundation from which Disagården can structure the close cultivation of the
different farms. The basis of the development program has primarily been
compiled through archival and literary studies but also through on-site visits
and interviews.
How did the concept of open air museums start and what were the ideas
behind the concept? Which external influences affected the situating of
cultivations and buildings? Which crops and species were present on the
farms in Uppland during the specified time period? What was the relation of
the different structures to each other? Which organizations had influences on
the farmer's household of the Uppland plain? The thesis attempts to clarify
the answers to these questions.
The influences affecting on the farmer's household in Uppland were
probably numerous.

Uppsatsen behandlar begagnade livförsäkringar och de implikationer som dessa kan komma att innebära för den svenska livförsäkringsmarknaden i framtiden. Syftet med uppsatsen är att analysera vinsterna och riskerna med marknaden för begagnade livförsäkringar i Sverige och utifrån detta resultat utvärdera vad reglerare av marknaden måste betänka. I uppsatsen avses med livförsäkringar enbart livförsäkringar med dödsfallsbelopp.Vi visar på hur livförsäkringar traditionellt är uppbyggda och hur livförsäkringspremiernas storlek bestäms. En bakgrund ges till den svenska försäkringsmarknaden och dess grundläggande principer samt den förändring som branschen genomgår och hur denna kan tänkas resultera i att ett större intresse för handel med livförsäkringar uppstår för både försäkrade och investerare.En jämförelse görs med den amerikanska livförsäkringsmarknaden för att få en uppfattning om riktningen som marknadskrafter kan tänkas föra en oreglerad marknad mot. Handeln med begagnade livförsäkringar är där väl utbredd och debatten kring dess konsekvenser för individer och livförsäkringsbranschen är omfattande.
