The purpose with this thesis is to analyse images in the confirmationbook Via Mystica from a gender perspective. By using two different ways to analyse the pictures, a content analysis and a semiotic picture analysis, the result was as follows: The pictures of men an women fortifies the construction of gender. The girls in the pictures are represented as caregivers and comforters, while the boys are represented as strong and tough. The four pictures from the semiotic picture analyses showed how easy it was to categorise the men and the women in the photos in opposing stereotypes. The women are percieved as weak and submissive while the men were either strong criminals or a strong hero.

Uppsatsen syfte är att granska ett antal läroböcker i svenska för grundskolans senare år, för att där se hur det vidgade textbegreppet ? film och rörliga bilder ? uttrycks och behandlas. Enheten för styrdokument nämner i sitt tillägg till kursplanerna, Ett vidgat textbegrepp, ?medie­kompetens? som en utgångspunkt för det vidgade textbegreppet. Detta begrepp granskas närmare i uppsatsen utifrån ett internationellt och nationellt perspektiv för att sedan relateras till styrdokumenten.

Stroke is a widespread disease in Sweden. Nurses play a central part for those who suffer from a stroke irrespective of where in the care chain they meet. To be able to meet the patients? need of care the nurse must understand his/her lifeworld. Each and every patient is unique and the experience of being struck by a stroke depends on personality and life situation.

Denna studie behandlar delaktighet och inflytande mellan hem och förskola, vilket är ett av förskolans uppdrag enligt styrdokumenten. Vi har valt att genomföra denna studie för att få insyn i hur föräldrar på en förskola uppfattar sin delaktighet och sitt inflytande. Som verksamma i förskolan har vi funderat på om och hur vi möjliggör för föräldrar att förstå det demokratiska uppdraget och de både rättigheter och skyldigheter som det för med sig. Studiens syfte är att beskriva föräldrars uppfattning om delaktighet och inflytande i förskolans verksamhet och pedagogiska planering. I bakgrunden presenteras tidigare forskning om föräldrars delaktighet och inflytande.

Syftet med denna studie är dels att ur ett salutogenetiskt perspektiv belysa ensamstående mammors livssituationer och de strategier som är av betydelse för att hantera vardagen. Dels att visa på vilka behov som verksamheter, riktade till ensamstående, kan svara mot hos de ensamstående mammorna.Datainsamlingsmetoden är huvudsakligen kvalitativ med icke-standardiserade intervjuer, som har kombinerats med en standardiserad enkät. Totalt har 11 intervjuer genomförts, varav åtta med ensamstående mammor och tre med representanter för de riktade verksamheterna. Studien är till viss del styrd av ett teoretiskt perspektiv som har fått ange fokus och riktning. Därefter har analysen av materialet varit mer eller mindre induktiv, då det ur empirin har fångats teman och begrepp.

Abstract The overall aim of this paper is to examine the impact of ideologies and norms on a legal system. Against a background of a description of the hierarchy of norms in Swedish labour law and in European Union law, respectively, the paper aims to specifically demonstrate the problems caused by the different hierarchies of norms when implementing EU directives in Swedish labor law. The research question examines how the trade unions? right to industrial action towards an undertaker providing transnational services by posting of workers, is affected by the implementation of the Directive 96/71/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 1996 concerning the posting of workers in the framework of the provision of services. The paper answers the question under what conditions the Swedish trade unions have the right to take industrial action in situations of posting of workers. Through the study of sources of law and adhering to traditional jurisprudence, this paper investigates the legislation regarding trade unions? rights to take industrial action in situations of posting of workers. In addition to the jurisprudential research, a glance at the history of ideologies is provided.

This thesis analyzes contemporary Swedish discourse on Russia, i.e. the ways Russia and Russians are perceived in Sweden today. After a summary of historical Western and Swedish perceptions of Russia, and a discussion about the treatment of these tensions within modern research, contemporary Swedish discourse is reconstructed based upon analytical articles in three major newspapers during the period 1992-2007. It is argued that the prevailing image of Russia contains the reproduction of old stereotypes and prejudices. The five major representations of Russia in contemporary Swedish discourse are: non-Western, unreliable, authoritarian, threatening and eternal, with the last one being a meta-representation functioning both as a representation of its own and a mechanism for the reification of the others.

Detta kan bland annat vara en följd av landets höga alkoholskatter och den höga avkastning denna brottsliga verksamhet ger. Alkoholsmugglingen är ett uppmärksammat problem i media och andra offentliga forum. Svenskarnas alkoholkonsumtion har ökat avsevärt och i paritet med det även vålds-brottsligheten. The purpose of this research is to evaluate traditional market segmentation variables, as criticism has been directed towards these variables. Based on our problem discussion we find it motivating to undertake investigation in order to understand which connotations an ethnographic approach will provide. Methodology:We have applied an ethnographic approach, which has enabled us to attain under the surface knowledge from our respondents. Theoretical perspective:As we wanted to evaluate existing traditional segmentation variables, we decided to only include theory regarding these variables. Empirical data:In order to collect our data, we observed seven respondents at Ikea and conducted observations and in-depth interviews in their homes.

This thesis aimed to investigate how a rising sea level would affect the livable area of the island Fongafale, Tuvalu. Through the IPCC stabilization scenarios it was examined which areas of the island that would be affected by flooding. The local population?s perceptions of the effects of climate change were studied to see how the consequences of a world-wide problem such as global warming affect people's lives. The paper clarified the Tuvaluans place in the discussion of climate refugees, explained IPCC's work and described the results of previous studies concerning people in Fongafales perceptions and concerns about climate-related changes.

The purpose of this essay was to further develop the discussion around the street-level bureaucrats and the dilemmas that they meet in their work environment. The paper will try to accomplish this by putting the spotlight on the professional role, the organizational control of the street-level bureaucrat and the effect of society on the work environment. Something that also will be discussed is the well-known difficulty of implementation of new programs and methods, especially when street-level bureaucrats are involved. The street-level bureaucrats that this paper focuses on are caseworkers within Försäkringskassan and handle benefits and take decisions about the need for rehabilitation for people who are ill and unable to work.I have used a qualitative method for this study. The empirical material consists of six interviews at two different offices.The main cause of the dilemma of the street-level bureaucrat is that there is a conflict between the human side and the professional role.

The purpose of this essay is to find out how gender upholds in a classroom, both by students as well as the teacher. The procedure has been to observe the relationship between students and also the teachers. The observations is analysed according to theories of gender and a discussion about why gender is maintained follows. The conclusion of the result is that gender is being preserved in different ways, but also the contrary ? students and the teacher oppose it.

Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka hur elever ser på elevinflytande i praktiken, dvs. var de uppfattar att elevinflytande kommer till uttryck, vilka som agerar i dessa sammanhang, vilka frågor elevinflytandet gäller samt vad elever gör då de upplever att de inte får gehör för sitt inflytandebehov. Dessutom är syftet, mot bakgrund av ovanstående, att utröna om alla elever kan påverka sin skolvardag i samma utsträckning. Uppsatsen bygger på intervjuer med sju kvinnor och sju män, alla elever på tre olika gymnasieskolor.Det är framförallt i ett forum, närmare bestämt den elevorganiserade deltagardemokratin i skolornas korridorer, korridorkulturen, som eleverna är aktiva vad gäller elevinflytandearbete. Där sker diskussioner gällande elevinflytande, planering av agerande, liksom agerande i elevgenererade inflytandefrågor såsom veckoschema och examinationssätt.
