The aim of this work is to give an example of how archaeoacoustics can broaden our understanding of archaeological remains and to further contribute to the almost non-existing research of ringing stones. With a theoretical discussion about sound from three different perspectives and by means of using different kinds of analysis, this essay will show that there are unknown relations between the three known ölandic ringing stones and the cultural landscape of Öland. Possible patterns in the placement of the stones and the possibility of the sound in this soundscape will be investigated. The essay will also suggest a resonant stone typology and discuss the necessity of one. During my studies to become a guitar builder at Carl Malmsten CTD, I have found an interest in the construction of the classical guitar. I am fascinated by the simplicity of its construction. A simplicity that becomes more complex when you start to study it in detail.In my final thesis I will not try to explain this complexity. The subject is to investigate two different principles regarding its construction. I would like to find out if the sayings concerning one of the principles will yield a guitar with greater ability to produce volume and projection.At a close distance the difference between the guitar?s volumes is not to speak of, but a significant difference can be seen regarding one of the guitars ability to project its sound.

Digital långtidslagring är problematisk på grund av att digitala medier har relativt kort fysisk livslängd och ännu kortare teknisk livslängd. Denna uppsats handlar om hur ett antal arkiv i Lund hanterar denna problematik. Syftet med uppsatsen är att ge insyn i hur arkiv i praxis ställer sig till, och hanterar långsiktig digital bevaring. Vårt mål är att uppsatsen skall bidra med både information om praktisk användning av hanteringsstrategier för långsiktig digital bevaring, samt bidra med en bild om hur situationen ser ut för dem undersökta arkiven. Uppsatsen grundas på en kvalitativ undersökning av arkiven där semistrukturerade intervjuer används för att skapa en bild av arkivens situation när det gäller digital långtidslagring samt hur de hanterar problematiken.

Den här uppsatsen är ett försök till att analysera ny digital och digitaliserad litteratur med hjälp utav medieteorier och intervjuer med lokala aktörer i det litterära produktionsfältet, först och främst förläggare. Today, "the digital library" is the common way of describing a managed collection of information, with associated services, stored in digital formats and accessible over a network. Digital libraries have mainly been developed at research libraries, but during the last few years public libraries have started to offer similar services.The aim of this Master's thesis is to study how the Swedish public libraries plan to develop their digital libraries according to their mission statements, and in what way they have implemented them at their web sites. 21 public libraries, the largest in each Swedish county, were investigated.The library mission statements are investigated to find out in what terms the digital libraries are described and to what extent. The library websites are examined with respect to what kind of digital services are offered, to what extent they supplement or replace the physical library, and if there are new digital services not found in the physical library.In most mission statements the digital library is referred to in sweeping terms like "IT activities" and "new media". However, a few of the libraries clearly regard the digital library as an important part of the future operations, speaking of it in well defined and extensive terms.The public library websites are relatively homogeneous when it comes to services supplementing physical library activities, like web access to the library catalogue and links to other library catalogues.

Denna studie handlar om digital teknik, lek och genus i förskolan. Vi har besökt en förskola som använder sig av digital teknik i vardagen på förskolan. För att genomföra studien har vi använt oss av kvalitativa intervjuer och observationer. Vi började med att observera barn på en förskola och vid ett senare tillfälle intervjuade vi barnen på förskolan i grupper om fem barn. Syftet med vår studie var att studera lek ur ett genusperspektiv med fokus på digital teknik Resultatet av vår studie visade att både leken och användandet av den digitala tekniken skiljer sig åt mellan flickor och pojkar. Pojkar leker aktivare och högljudda lekar medan flickor leker stillsammare.

Med tankar från pedagogen Montessori och filosoferna Platon och Baudrillard har detta arbete behandlat frågor om datorn och dess betydelse för en grafiker. Frågeställningen formulerades efter hand och lydde tillslut: ?Hur kan materia te sig i digital form?? Forskningen resulterade i en hypotes för hur digital materia skulle födas i datorn: genom att blanda två uppsättningar av data, såsom två genuppsättningar tillsammans skapar en ny organism. Under produktionen utvecklades därmed en metod för hur en grafiker ska kunna skapa tillsammans med en dator. Syftet är att ge andra grafiker ett nytt sätt att se på digital grafik.

Tillsynsrond är en stor del av arbetsgången, för driftpersonal, i maskinrummet på ett fartyg. Det tillhör det förebyggande underhåll som tillämpas ombord. Idag använd till största utbredningen en metod som innefattar en färdig rondlista som skrivs ut på papper för att sedan kunna användas av driftpersonal vid rondering. Utifrån detta undersöka en ny metod för rondering till sjöss. Syftet med arbetet var att undersöka hur en digital rond uppfattas av maskinbesättningen.

From the ancient China and Persia to the present times, philosophers, scientists and artists have tried to explain these connections between color and music and also tried to find answers to this ancient enigma.The invention of the color organ c. 1730, an instrument that was intended to display color in addition to the musical auditive experience, was the first attempt to materialize the practical correlation between notes and color. This essay takes its starting point in the research on digital technology and theories on learning to apply the research on history teaching. The theories on learning from Illeris and Selander are used to find out how the digital technology should be used in upper secondary school, since there is no extensive research on how the new technology should be used in upper secondary school. From that point the essay?s primary goal is to investigate how teachers use digital technology, if they choose a particular study field while working with the technology. Furthermore it investigates whether or not the technology is an appropriate mode of operation when developing abilities such as historical consciousness and historical empathy.

Noise in schools can have negative effect on the teaching environment and speech perception. The national Child Environmental Health Surveys (BMHE) conducted in 2003 and 2011 studied how 12-year olds experience their sound environment in school. Results showed that the number of pupils that experience annoyance from noise increased from 2003 to 2011.Aim: The aim of this study was to study how 12-year olds perceive their sound environment in school.Methodology and material: A quantitative questionnaire survey was conducted in the sixth grade at two schools. The questionnaire used included questions from BMHE and self-produced questions. Sixtynine students answered the questionnaire.Results: Over 50 % of the respondents experience annoyance from noise in school several times a week.
