This study investigates if, and in that case, how design theory is applied in practice in the web development field. Prior research has focused on methods used in the web development field. We wanted to study the designers role in a web design process by comparing existing designer roles with design theory literature. We did qualitative interviews with two practitioners at two different communication agencies in northern Sweden. Based on our qualitative data and literature review we have concluded that a designer has to devote a lot of energy on requirements engineering in order to develop a clear understanding of the design situation..

The explosion of new digital media puts pressure for developments within copyright law both in Sweden and internationally. These developments are taking place on two different international areas: (1) WIPO which is a part of the UN family and (2) the EU where a new directive on copyright law is being prepared and probably implemented during 2001. The aim of this thesis is twofold: (1) to study which considerations libraries must make when handling the new digital media both under today's copyright laws and under those which are being developed internationally. (2) What will be the consequences, for Swedish libraries, if the new EU-directive on copyright law is implemented in Sweden? By analysing current copyright laws, international treaties and the proposal for a new EU-directive as well as the national debate the thesis brings attention to a number of central issues for libraries.

Numera utgör Internet en självklar del i svenskarnas dagliga rutiner. Användandet av sociala medier och annan digital interaktionsteknik kan föranleda negativa konsekvenser för individen. Till följd av Internetanvändandet har en ny arena för kränkningar och mobbning uppstått. Tidi-gare forskning har i huvudsak studerat nätmobbning och nätkränkningar bland barn och ungdo-mar varpå föreliggande studie studerar fenomenet bland unga vuxna. Studien syftar i huvudsak till att undersöka förekomsten av nätkränkningar och/eller nätmobbning, via digital interaktions-teknik, bland unga vuxna, detta både ur ett förövar- och offerperspektiv.

Purpose of the essay: The purpose of the essay is to, from the view of the nurses working at the x-ray infirmary; see how the internal e-mail communication is working as the main digital communication method at the x-ray infirmary.Material/Method: The material has been collected using qualitative interviews with eight nurses working at the x-ray infirmary. The material has then been analyzed through a theoretical perspective based on The Media Richness theory.Main results: The results of the investigation have shown that the nurses see the internal e-mail communication as relatively poor. The information that is sent out by their superiors is often too extensive, this making the screening work an extra work burden. These e-mails are also supplied to the whole infirmary instead of being addressed to specific individuals. Seen through a media richness perspective, the e-mail is a mediumrich communication medium that well could be used in the everyday communication at the infirmary as the main communication agent.

Sammanfattning/abstract Syfte: Syftet med detta arbete är att få större förståelse kring hur mobbning utspelar sig i dagens skolmiljö, samt att göra människor uppmärksamma på vad mobbning via sociala medier innebär och vilka åtgärder som möjligen finns tillgängliga. Teori: I arbetet har Olweus (1999) teori om mobbning tillämpats och Dunkels (2007) teori om mobbning som förekommer via sociala medier. Metod: Metoden som använts har varit anonyma enkätundersökningar med elever i årskurs fem och sex på tre olika skolor, samt en enkätundersökning med organisationerna Friends och BRIS. Resultat/Slutsats: Resultatet som kommit fram i detta arbete visar bland annat att om man kränker någon via internet så kan man vara anonym, samt att det är lättare att kränka någon via sociala medier då man inte behöver se hur den man behandlar illa reagerar. Utifrån elevenkäterna kunde man tyda att eleverna vill ha bättre vuxennärvaro på internet, och menade bland annat att det ska finnas någon som har uppsikt om i fall mobbning förekommer..

The aim of this paper is to analyze and problematize the content in the teaching media Känslan för ord through an integrative perspective. This is done by using two sets of questions based on two of the didactic questions what and how. How is the content of the Swedish subject constructed in Känslan för ord? and How is this content integrated in Känslan för ord? The used material consists of a fairly large amount of literature which provides different approaches, priorities, and methods about the Swedish subject. This literature forms the base for the model used to analyze the course books.The results are based on an analysis of the exercise culture (uppgiftskultur) in the two books and are extensive.

Den här c-uppsatsen är en studie om hur av delar av Manuel Castells teorier om den digitala klyftan, den informationella revolutionen och flödesrummet överensstämmer med ett urval av akademiska artiklar som publiceras under åren 1990-2010 i databasen LISA (Library and Information Science Abstracts). Den digitala klyftan ett gap med ojämn tillgång till dator med internetuppkoppling. Studien är utförd med litteraturstudier och textanalytiska metoder. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the role of bibliotherapy at hospitals and also what knowledge of and insights on bibliotherapy a few Swedish hospital librarians have. Questions investigated are: What role do the hospital librarians think literature has in the treatment of a patient? What is their view on their role as a hospital librarian and do they believe that they can have a part in the treatment of a patient? Is the concept bibliotherapy commonly used or is there another term in use? How important is the linkage between healing and literature? In this study, the view on bibliotherapy is limited to a hospital perspective. The purpose of the study is therefore to investigate bibliotherapy at the hospital. Six qualitative interviews with hospital librarians were performed at three general or combined general/medical hospital libraries.

This master's thesis is a study of how librarians are depicted in crime fiction. 12 American and English mysterynovels featuring librarians in a central role were studied and analysed using character theory. Denna studie syftar till att, ur ett multimodalt perspektiv, få kännedom om hur digitala verktyg används av lärare i undervisningssyfte på Södertörns högskola, samt studenters inställning till de medietekniska hjälpmedlen. Detta har gjorts med hjälp av observationer, intervjuer och enkätundersökningar som genomfördes med lärare och studenter.Det resultat som observationerna gav stämde överens med resultatet från intervjuer och enkätundersökningar. Studien visar att digitala verktyg används sparsamt av lärare på högskolan. Föreläsningar med PowerPoint-presentationer som i stort sett enbart innehöll text och bilder var i särklass det vanligaste undervisningsredskapet. This projectwas started with the purpose to find a quality control metod for Colorcraft´s digital halftone proofing system(Kodak Approval XP4).Using a software who supports spectral measuring combined with a spectrophotometer and a control bar, a qualitycontrol system was assembled. This system detects variations that lies out of the proofing system´s natural deviation.The prerequisite for this quality control system is that the tolerances are defined with consideration taken to the proofingsystems natural deviations.

Background: Officers in the Swedish Armed Forces educates their soldiers in various skills and arenas. The Officers get their educational training in officer training courses conducted by the Swedish Armed Forces or the Swedish national defence college. The aim of this study was to find out how the cadets, belive that they are formed into educators, their views on the literature being used in the Swedish armed Forsces, and their views on leadership and educational science.Methods: The data for analysis were collected in spring 2010, by use of a questionnaire among cadets studying the tactical/operational program Ta/Op 07/10 at the Swedish national defence college. The respons rate was 69, 6 %.Results: The majority of the cadets thought that experience was the most important factor in becoming a good educator. Most of the cadets also thought that the literature being used by the Swedish armed forces was good, however, few cadets stated that they will use the material for reflection on their own teaching when working as officers.Conclusions: The Cadets had a positive attitude towards the educational philosphy and literature being used, but few will use the literature in reflecting on themselves as teachers.
