This report studies how the divergence between men and women is manifested in the physical space and how the representation of room recreates this divergence. Spaces are coded and women have traditionally been associated with private space and men with public space, leading to that the home is encoded as female space and public squares as male space. Thereby women lack a natural place in public space. The National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (Boverket) wants to change this situation by enforcing safety-creating measures based on gender equality theories.I have studied what potential risks the project initiated by Boverket as well as discuss the potential problems with representation. Can representation be used without freezing the space? I also search for methods for working with a gender perspective without reproducing gender stereotypes and roles and avoiding encoding the private as female and public as male? Also I use a public seminar with urban planners, artists and architects to retrieve how we work with these issues today.I conclude that city planning needs to incorporate new strategies of thought that does not divide space, e.g.

This study was made in an attempt to give the forest research centre Mógilsá a producedtetratherm map and a better understanding of how topography and temperature influencethe growth of two tree species. The digital tetratherm map model, covering the northernpart of Iceland, was developed to investigate the correlation between tetratherm and thegrowth of Picea sitchensis and Larix (sukaczewii + sibirica). The study confirms theusefulness of digital terrain models in providing data for a lot of different factors and forthe tetratherm model. Hopefully will this tetratherm map be used in future studies.Secondly, investigations were made correlating the growth of the two species againsttopographic factors representing height above sea level, distance to the sea, slope andtopex. Thirdly, investigations were made comparing the aspect and the ground shape tothe growth.The growth rate of Larix had strong significant correlations to the tetratherm and thedistance to the sea- factors.

Our purpose is to analyse three different epistemological discourses that exist in the social practice, Library and Information Science LIS, using the strategy for interpretation from the mimesis model by Paul Ricoeur and the terms from the critical discourse analysis by Norman Fairclough. The aim is also to explore there different views of knowledge organisation. We review previous research involving epistemology, knowledge organisation and discourse analysis in LIS. These show that there are many different epistemological standpoints and that later research has shown a more critical and sceptical state of knowledge organisation than earlier traditional positivist ideals. Discourse analysis is described as an important theory and method in LIS.

Background: Mathematics is a subject that many students perceive as difficult. In recent years, results in mathematics declined, while many students have difficulties in the subject of Swedish. However, there is not much research on the relationship between difficulties in mathematics and language weaknesses.Purpose: The purpose of this work is to find out what role the advocate competence of learning opportunities for the students to understand mathematics. A further aim of this work is to find out how mathematics is verbalized and individualized in preschool and find out how teachers in those classes describes how they work to verbalize and individualize mathematics.Method: The purpose is answered by observations in preschool and interviews of the teachers working in the observed classes. The empirical data are discussed and analyzed with theories related to children's learning and literature of mathematics and language.Result: The results show that mathematics is extensively verbalized in preschool classes.

This case study explores the question of implementation and steering in a society of governance. As an empirical example, a reform concerning the reception of separated refugee children in Sweden is used. As of the 1st of July 2006 the responsibility for providing housing for separated children lies with the local governments rather than with the Swedish Board of Migration, aiming to improve the children's situation. However, implementing this amendment has turned out to be a harder task than expected. Traditionally, the relationship between state and local actors is seen in terms of state steering or local self-government.

Den här uppsatsens syfte är att belysa och analysera ungdomars uppfattningar om och eventuella erfarenheter av den allt vanligare digitala mobbningen, det vill säga mobbning som sker via olika arenor på Internet eller via mobiltelefoni. Frågor som rört hur användningen av digitala arenor ser ut bland ungdomarna, vad de uppfattar att digital mobbning är, om det finns någon skillnad mellan flickors och pojkars sätt att mobba, samt vilka konsekvenser de anser att mobbningen får, har analyserats med hjälp av Bruno Latours aktör-nätverksteori och ur ett genusperspektiv. För att uppfylla studiens syfte har jag använt mig av kvalitativa fokusgruppsintervjuer med ungdomar från årskurs åtta från två skolor. Intervjuerna var uppdelade i flick- respektive pojkgrupper.Genom ungdomarnas framställning av vad mobbning är framgår det att det i huvudsak handlar om att det är den utsatte som avgör och definierar om det är mobbning eller bråk som äger rum. De säger att det är svårt att fastställa gränsen mellan mobbning och bråk då det ofta beror mycket på vem det är som säger det, vilken situation det är samt hur personen som får kommentaren reagerar, om den tar åt sig eller inte.

Syftet med detta kandidatarbete är att testa en arbetsmetod som skiljer sig ifrån det en mindre grupp i vanliga fall använder sig av: en komponentbaserad arbetsprocess för att utforska och sammanställa arbetserfarenheten med den komponentbaserade arbetsmetoden, utvecklar vi därför ett digitalt spel..

Syftet med denna studie är att utforska erfarenheter kring användandet av digitala verktyg hos gymnasieelever som får extra anpassningar beträffande språk-, läs- och skrivlärande. Metoden som använts är kvalitativa intervjuer med fyra gymnasieelever, och som teoretisk ansats utgår studien från ett sociokulturellt perspektiv på lärande. Utifrån syfte och frågeställningar presenteras resultatet av intervjuerna i form av fyra teman som samtliga handlar om digitala verktyg i undervisningen. Dessa är specialpedagogiskt stöd i grundskolan, bevis på att vara annorlunda, pedagogiskt och specialpedagogiskt redskap samt för- och nackdelar.Resultatet i studien visar att eleverna under sin grundskoletid inte fått tillräckligt med specialpedagogiskt stöd. Bristen har bland annat inneburit avsaknad av digital teknik, vilken hade kunnat ge stöd i att kompensera för elevernas läs- och skrivsvårigheter.

Vi har behandlat användarvänlighet, designprinciper, grafiska element och tekniska aspekter för att svara på problemformuleringen. The purpose of this paper is to create an understanding of the negotiation process behind the decision of who will stay at home with a sick child and to develop the knowledge of the mechanisms considered to affect the negotiation process, in particular, the mechanisms likely to contribute to an uneven use of care leave. In the study six interviews were conducted with three sets of parents. These interviews were then analysed with Janet Finch?s (1989) definition of negotiation of family responsibilities. The study finds that the negotiation on care leave is a result of the negotiation of the shared view of reality.

Europaparlamentet definierade år 2006 att alla medborgare behöver digital kompetens för att anpassa sig till den föränderliga värld vi lever, vilket har påverkat innehållet i den nya läroplanen och kursplanerna Lgr 11, med avseende på digital kompetens.Parallellt med att fokus ökar på den digitala kompetensen i skolorna, gör de interaktiva skrivtavlorna intåg i våra svenska klassrum och enligt taveldistributörernas försäljningsprognoser kommer ännu fler att säljas de kommande åren. Detta gör att de interaktiva skrivtavlorna är ett digitalt verktyg som många lärare behöver lära sig hantera, och syftet med denna studie är att observera hur de interaktiva skrivtavlorna kan användas i grundskolans undervisning, och vilka lärstilar som stimuleras med utgångspunkt i Gardners teori om multipla intelligenser. Studien försöker också besvara frågan hur lärarens utbildning på de interaktiva skrivtavlorna påverkar antalet intelligenser som stimuleras under lektionerna.Resultatet baseras på nio klassrumsobservationer på två olika skolor, och visar till exempel att den verbala/lingvistiska och visuella/spatiala intelligensen aktiveras i alla lektionerna och den matematiska/logiska i flertalet. Detta resultat tillsammans med resultatet av intervju och contextual inquiry visar att lärarens utbildningsnivå på den interaktiva skrivtavlan påverkar sättet denna används på i undervisningen och antalet intelligenser som stimuleras, men också att den grundläggande IKT-kompetensen (informations- och kommunikationsteknik) och dataintresse har betydelse, särskilt när läraren inte har fått så mycket utbildning på den interaktiva skrivtavlan..

The purpose of this study was to investigate what knowledge 16 year old highschool students have when it comes to text- and imageposting on social media and how they act on the basis of their skills and attitudes on text and image publishing. An important aspect of this was to investigate the impact of young people 's identity in relation to text- and image posting on social media as this according to research is a big part of what motivates young people in their everyday practices (Buckingham, 2008). The essay questions was , What is young people?s experience on posting text- and image on social media? How aware are young people at the pros and cons on posting text and images on social media? What are young people's attitudes about text and image posting? And how do young people act on the basis of experience , awareness and attitude? Which role plays identity in their actions? To seek answers to my questions and achieve the aim of the thesis was conducted three semi-structured focusgroup interviews in collaboration with two high schools. The results have been reported, interpreted and analyzed by pattern-seeking. The theoretical framework used in this paper is the research and theories of primarily media researchers who have distinguished themselves in the Media and Youth research, For example, Ulla Carlsson, David Buckingham, Sonia Livingstone and Kristen Drotner.

Digitizing and digital libraries create great opportunities toprovide access to cultural heritage globally, but the quicklychanging information technology environment also raises manyquestions. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse whatvisions and ideas behind one specific digital library, Europeana,that can be found in documentation related to the project. Whatideas can be identified concerning aspects such as userparticipation, access to information, knowledge andinformation literacy? What is the project?s role in relation toeducation, preservation of cultural heritage and democracy?The method used to answer these research questions is adescriptive idea analysis. The empirical material, consisting ofprimary sources written in relation to the project, has beencategorized within dimensions and analysed according toDouglas Raber?s three public library strategies: social activism,the conservative response and the populist initiative.

This report is the result of a case study at Peltor AB during the spring semester of 2007. The task Peltor gave us was to improve the delivery accuracy and to lower the high finical value of delayed orders (backorder), and to divide the products into logical groups. The logical group will be a useful tool to remain a high level of service. If the level of service increases the company will be more competitive.The electronic department at Peltor has problems with delayed orders. According to Peltor, the problem is based on delivery lead time which is presumed.To increase the delivery accuracy, a lead time analysis is made to find the accumulated delivery lead times for each product.

Det moderna samhället och digitaliseringen bidrar till att det virtuella rummet blir en viktig del för många individer och deras vardag. Genom att ständigt ha möjlighet till uppkopplingen på diverse sociala nätverk har digitaliseringen bidragit till att face-to-face interaktioner allt oftare byts ut mot virtuella interaktioner. Genom face-to-face interaktioner påverkar individen sina val och agerande med hjälp av sin omgivning.Syftet med den här studien är att undersöka om individen blir socialt påverkad genom att följa Instagramkonton som fokuserar på träning. Studien avser att undersöka om den sociala påverkan som normalt sätt sker genom verbala gester i face-to-face interaktion således kan ske på liknande sett genom digital interaktion. Genom att studera påverkan i digital form så ska vi undersöka om någon form av attitydförändring samt motivation uppstår hos de individer som väljer att följa Instagramkonton som fokuserar på träning.Resultatet av studien indikerar att individen blir påverkad medvetet, omedvetet, positivt och negativt av att följa träningsinspirationskonton på Instagram.Resultatet visar även att individer känner ångestkänslor när de exponeras för träningsinspirationsbilder.
