The subject for our bachelor thesis is how sugar is portrayed in Aftonbladet. By analyzing newspapers from 1995 and 2013 we wanted to research if the portrayal of sugar has changed during the years. We have noticed that there is a trend of being healthy and fit today. ?Strong is the new skinny? is a quote we can see in social media and on blogs today.

The workplace is perhaps the most developed arena for prevention of diseases and injuries among employees. In addition, according to the Swedish Work Environment Act, the employer is responsible to address physical and psychosocial risk factors. Moreover, many employers use health promotion, primarily related to individuals and their ambition to maintain or improve health, for example through Dietary means and exercise. The aim of this study is to investigate health inspirers in municipal activities and their perceived support and motivation in work related to health promotion at the workplace. A qualitative method was chosen where six health inspirers within Ludvika kommun were interviewed.

A tendency of impaired oral health has lately been seen among children and adolescents. The consumption of soft drinks and fruit juices is rising and at the same time many children and adolescents skip breakfast and lunch at school. That in combination with a frequent snacking increases the risk of caries. The aim of this study was to examine the knowledge of caries, oral hygiene- and Dietary habits and experience of tobacco among 12-year-old schoolchildren. The study was performed in 5th grade in four different schools in the North East of Skåne in cooperation with the dental health board clinic in Näsby, Kristianstad.
Munhygien- och kostvanor hos gymnasieelever i Prishtina, Kosovo
Kosovo saknar ett fungerande tandvårdssystem och det ges inga förebyggande åtgärder vilket påverkar munhälsan. För att upprätthålla en god munhälsa krävs en god munhygien och goda kostvanor. Idag finns det många barn och ungdomar som kommer från Kosovo till Sverige, och därför är det intressant att ta reda på om hur ungdomarnas munhygien-, kost- och tandvårdsvanor ser ut i Kosovo. Syfte med studien var att undersöka munhygien- och kostvanor samt tandvårdsvanor hos 16-19 åringar i Prishtina, Kosovo. Material och metod: Studien är en kvantitativ empirisk studie som utfördes med en enkät som innehöll 17 frågor med fasta svarsalternativ.

Förändringsarbete inom äldreomsorgen : - ett kostprojekt
Bakgrund: Verksamhetschefer, sjuksköterskor, utvecklingsledare och kostombud har påbörjat ett förbättringsarbete gällande kosten på ett särskilt boende för äldre i en mellansvensk kommun. Syftet: Att beskriva omvårdnadspersonalens uppfattning om förbättringar, försämringar samt inflytande gällande måltidsmiljön, efter att riktlinjer kring kosthållningen införts. Metod: Studien genomfördes med en kvalitativ ansats och en beskrivande design. Tjugofem omvårdnadspersonal intervjuades om sina uppfattningar. Resultat: Det framkom i studien att omvårdnadspersonalen till största del uppfattade att förbättringar skett kring kosthållningen efter införandet av de nya riktlinjerna.

ABSTRACT
The potato has had an important role in the Swedish Dietary customs for quite some
time. However, during the last forty years, consumption has decreased from 87
kg/year and person to 46 kg/year and person. Other products such as pasta, rice and
bulgur are competing with the potato. Many of the competitors have been developed
and refined while the potato has not changed much. The potato is still a bulk product
while competing products have been differentiated.
Stakeholders within the potato market has realized that something has to be done and
today there are a number of organizations and networks that all actively work to
preserve the Swedish agriculture and specifically the potato as a product.
The purpose with this essay is to examine how store managers in the Swedish grocery
stores view the handling of the potato in the store, the quality and packaging,
marketing and future consumption.

ABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to describe various methods of treatment and effects of treatment of ADHD, and to investigate wheater there is an association between adults with ADHD and obesity. Method: Literature review. Twelve quantitative scientific articles were found in the data bases PubMed, Cinahl and MedLine. Result: ADHD is a cognitive impairment that can lead to serious complications such as obesity. Studies show that drug treatments of adults with ADHD have positive effects in terms of reduced symptoms, increased efficiency and improved quality of life, but drugs can also cause side effects in form of loss of appetite and insomnia. For adults with ADHD and obesity drugs that affect metabolism have a significant impact on patients ability to lose weight.

Background:In Sweden and Northern Europe, cardiovascular disease mortality rates are high. The clinical picture in the Western world is dominated by lifestyle diseases in which individual behavior and attitudes have a significant impact on the health effect. In the society cardiovascular disease is seen as an illness factor and contribution to disability. Conditions for a good life are not only good health also factors such as intimate relationships and meaningful work which affect the person's quality of life.Aim:Lifestyle changes and quality of life for patients, regarding cardiovascular disease.Method:A literature review was made. Eight articles, quantitative and qualitative were analyzed.
Studenters kost- och motionsvanor vid Högskolan Väst relaterat till kön och institution
Syftet med studien var att undersöka studenters kost- och motionsvanor vid Högskolan Väst relaterat till kön och institution. Studiens resultat baserades på 323 insamlade enkäter, relevant litteratur och vetenskapliga verk som avhandlingar, rapporter och artiklar. Resultatet av högskolestudenternas kost- och motionsvanor analyserades ur ett sociologiskt perspektiv. Studien visade skillnader mellan studenters kost- och motionsvanor i flera avseenden beroende av kön och institution. Kvinnliga studenter på Högskolan Väst har i flera avseenden uppgett sig ha bättre kost- och motionsvanor än de manliga studenterna.
Peas as feed for dairy cows
AbstractAn approaching overproduction of cereals and a future uncertain supply of non genetic modified vegetable protein feedstuffs have increased the interest in an expansion of the domestic production of protein feedstuffs in Norway. Besides rapeseed (Brassica campestris), peas (Pisum sativum) may be the most suitable crop for this purpose. Peas are characterized by having a relatively high content of crude protein, ranging between 20-26%, a high content of starch, 42-51%, and a low content of fat. In general, the energy value for peas is higher than for barley but lower than for rapeseed and soybean meal.Pea protein consists of albumins and globulins to 85-100%, which leads to the fact that a large part of the pea protein is soluble and degradable in the rumen. Starch in peas is on the other hand to a large extent resistant to rumen degradation compared to starch from other starch rich feedstuffs.
Kostvanor som har betydelse för karies : en jämförelse mellan elever vid yrkesinriktade och högskoleförberedande gymnasieprogram
Studiens syfte var att undersöka skillnader i kostvanor som kan ha betydelse för utveckling av karies mellan ungdomar vid yrkesinriktade respektive högskoleförberedande gymnasieprogram. Datainsamling skedde vid två gymnasieskolor i södra Sverige med användning av en enkät som bestod av 32 frågor.Det skulle både finnas yrkesinriktade- och högskoleförberedande gymnasieprogram på de skolor som deltog. Sextio elever från respektive gymnasieinriktning skulle ingå i studien. Totalt erbjöds 143 elever >16 år att delta från två skolor. Resultatet baserades på 118 besvarade enkäter, 60 från de yrkesinriktade- och 58 från de högskoleförberedande gymnasieprogrammen.

Genus på menyn : Analyser av stabila kol- och kväveisotoper på skelettmaterial från Bjärbygravfältet från äldre romersk järnålder i Kastlösa på Öland
This paper deals with diet and gender in the early roman iron age in Sweden. Human bone and tooth material from the Iron Age cemetery at Bjärby in Kastlösa parish on the island of Öland have been analysed for stable carbon and nitrogen isotopes. 21 individuals were sampled. Where possible 4 samples were taken from each individual, from the first, second and third molar respectively and from one compact bone. By doing so it is possible, at least in theory, to trace intra-individual diets throughout life.
