As a result of this negative effects organisations have to counteract and find new solutions and systems to facilitate and assist leaders in their work. A popular method for leadership development has come to show both in research and in practice, especially in recent years, this popular method is known as mentoring. This form of leadership development is often applied in so called mentoring programs.

Successful diversity management has become an increasingly pressing concern for companies and organisations, as the workforce has grown more diverse over the past few decades. Research on whether increased work group diversity has a generally positive or negative impact on results remains inconclusive. It has, however, been established that good diversity management is pivotal in creating conditions for the successful performance of diverse work groups. Although much attention has been directed towards explaining the translation of work group diversity into positive results, less attention has been given to the processes that underlie this translation and the way it is expressed in everyday leadership behaviour. This thesis revolves around a case study, at the Swedish bank Swedbank, which combines qualitative and quantitative elements to explore the successful leadership in nine diverse work groups at the local branch level.

Det (o)synliga k?net i ledarskap - En intervjustudie om medarbetares uppfattningar om mellanchefers ledarskap inom finanssektorn
The purpose of this study is to investigate how employees in the financial sector perceive the leadership behaviors of middle managers, and if these perceptions differ depending on the manager's gender and if so, in what way. The study is based on a social constructivist perspective and theories of gendered organizational structures. It is based on 15 semi-structured interviews with employees who have either female or male middle managers from different companies in the Swedish financial sector. The results show that gender often acts as a framework for how leadership is evaluated and understood. Female middle managers are frequently associated with relationship-oriented qualities.
Ungdomars upplevelse av mobbning sett ur ett utvecklingsekologiskt och utvecklingspsykologiskt perspektiv
The purpose of our study was to examine 13 to 14 year olds experience of bullying from a perspective of human developmental ecological systems. The questions at issue were: How do the young people themselves define the concept of bullying? Which own experiences do the young people have of bullying? How come bullying exists according to the young people? How do the young people experience that their surroundings view bullying? What do the young people consider that you can do about bullying? We used a qualitative method to collect and handle our primary empirical data. We did individual interviews with ten young people.The results of our study shows that the majority of the persons interviewed thought people bully because they have bad home conditions and that they are unsure of them selves. Many of the young people talked about three different groups in a school class: The popular, the less popular and the nerds.
Socionomen som chef inom va?rden : En kvalitativ studie av mo?tet mellan medicinsk och social kompetens
The purpose of this paper is to investigate how social workers, working in a management position in the health care system, perceive the encounter of the medical and social perspective. With seven qualitative interviews, the study tries to conclude whether or not social workers are accepted at managerial positions within the health care sector. The social worker is, as a manager in health care, a leader but at the same time in a professional alienation from the medical caregivers. Organizations in the health care sector are often multi professional and have their own long standing tradition, history and culture. The results show that the conditions for social workers, working in a management position in health care appear to be agreeable.
Coaching för förändring : spelare och ledare i Brynäs IF reflekterar
Coaching har blivit mycket av ett slagord inom företagsvärlden och olika konsultfirmor. Men vad innebär det konkret för individer och organisationer? Denna studie kommer att behandla coaching utförd av en ledare. Därav kommer både ett öppet och modernt ledarskap som coaching kräver behandlas, samt huvudämnet coaching.Bakgrunden till studien är främst att allt för många ledare idag fortfarande rekryteras med auktoritär ledarskapsstil som inte prioriterar utveckling av de anställda, samt att coaching som definition ibland misstolkas. Så syftet är att behandla dessa frågor och diskutera kring frågeställningarna: Vad är coaching? Vilken betydelse har coaching? Change is a recurring element in society and for sports clubs. When there is a change in society, this change may have an impact and change the condition for sports clubs and its leaders. Changes can be degraded into trends. This study has been delimited to study four social trends that research shows may have an impact on sports club, which are; Increased commercialization, changing demographics, changing communication patterns and increased individualization. To help sports clubs in their development it is of value to find out how these changes are perceived.
Barn med utvecklingsstörning och en kvalitativ innehållsanalys av TEACCH-metoden och Lilli Nielsens pedagogik med avseende på kunskapssyn
SammanfattningMålet med det här arbetet är att analysera två pedagogiska metoder för barn med utvecklingsstörning, närmare bestämt TEACCH-metoden och Lilli Nielsens pedagogik, när det gäller kunskapssyn och då framförallt aspekterna hur barnet med utvecklingsstörning tillägnar sig kunskap och vilka former denna kunskap tar. Avslutningsvis undersöks vilka kategorier som kan identifieras ur de analyserade texterna (citaten).För att samla in data har jag använt mig av litteraturstudie men för att tolka och bearbeta data har jag valt att använda mig av kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Litteraturstudie innebär att jag söker efter specifika svar i litteraturen som jag sedan jämför.När det gäller frågeställningen hur barnet med utvecklingsstörning tillägnar sig kunskap enligt TEACCH-metoden har jag funnit följande kategorier: Strukturerad miljö, strukturerade aktiviteter och? hand på hand-metod?. När det gäller frågeställningen vilka former denna kunskap tar enligt TEACCH-metoden har jag funnit följande kategorier: Faktakunskap och Färdighetskunskap.
Ledarskapsskillnader mellan ofentligt och privat anställda ledare : När sektorstillhörighet inte längre är relevant
The Public vs. private movement has over the past decades identified numerous significant differences between public and private organizations. The observed differences covers almost every field in administrative economics ranging from organizational structure, management accounting, goal-setting and in the past few years even leadership. Strangely, in the majority of these studies little or no regards are given to organizational characteristics or fundamental differences between compared organizations and if these organizations really are comparable when studying the effect of sector.The aim of this study is to compare leadership in relatively similar organizations from both the public and private sector and so clarify if earlier identified differences in leadership styles still surface when leaders working with approximately the same thing in a similar work context are studied.A sample of 348 Swedish principals was drawn from both municipal and private elementary schools. The respondents answered a web-based survey based on the CPE-model resulting in leadership styles mapped according to three orientations: change, production and employee.
Förskolechefens ledarskap : En studie om fem förskolechefers syn på sitt ledarskap
The purpose of this study was to examine how five preschool managers are looking at theirleadership and what difficulties they see in their leading. To live up to my purpose I askedthe following research questions: Which parts in their mission do the five preschoolmanagers see as problematic in relation to the curriculum for preschool and the schoolsinspectorate quality investigation? How do the preschool managers describe their leader styleand leader ideals, and is their any difference between the two of them?The method of this study was qualitative interviews with five preschool managers. Theresults that I found was that the most of the preschool managers see their leadership as coproduced(like in Ludvigssons research 2009) with the teachers and that the preschoolmanagers often find other difficulties in their mission compare to the quality investigation(School inspectorate 2012). Förändringsvillkor och förändringsambitioner inom folkbiblioteken. En samtidshistorisk studie med fokus på de tre GÖK-biblioteken under två decennier
This Master thesis focuses on change conditions and change ambitions in Swedish public libraries. I have chosen to focus on three libraries that participated in a much-debated developmental project sponsored by the Swedish Arts Council almost twenty years ago. The aim of the project was to enhance service-quality, increase user-influence over media acquisition and library routines, and to redefine the concept of quality in the library context. I have made comparisons of the conditions and change ambitions between the project period 1991-1994 and present day 2009. To do this I have analyzed the evaluations of the above-mentioned project and the developmental plans that every municipality in Sweden is required to write according the library-law of 2004.
