Eynavster : En studie om teknik som hjÀlpmedel för synskadade i utomhusnavigering
Navigating to different locations isn?t always easy. Imagine then how it is for people with a visual impairment to walk across the street or to get from one point to another. The Swedish Association of the Visually Impaired (SRF) has pointed out that today's society is not sufficiently accessible to people with visual impairment and there are improvements that need to get done. Technology is something that has evolved a lot this last decade and occurs today almost everywhere in our environment.In some areas, technology has facilitated people's daily life very much and we have therefore chosen to examine whether a combination of several technical functions integrated into the fictive artifact called Eyenavster can facilitate outdoor orientation and increase the accessibility for people with a visual impairment.Qualitative data collection methods have been used in this study by six interviews to answer our question.

This Master thesis is about elderly visually impaired and their use of libraries. It poses the question how visually impaired elderly looks upon their local library. Their thoughts and opinions are mainly from two sides. One is what they think about the service that they get. The other is what they think about the information concerning this service.
Ăga-nacke/skuldra problem hos en grupp synskadade mĂ€n och kvinnor i Ă„ldrarna 17-92 Ă„r : En kvantitativ tvĂ€rsnittsstudie
The purpose of this study was to describe the prevalence of self-reported visual and neck/shoulder complaints among individuals with a low vision diagnosis. The study also aimed to examine whether there was an association between the degree of self-rated visual and the neck/shoulder complaints. There was a questionnaire survey that was conducted on patients that visits an eye center in a county in central Sweden. There were a total of 18 people participated in the survey, between 17-92 years old. The questionnaire contained 22 questions and was analyzed with SPSS.
"Det Àr ungefÀr som pÄ bilden faktiskt" : en klassrumsstudie av social interaktion mellan fem ungdomar som samarbetar kring en taktil bild
Jag beskriver i detta arbete en klassrumsstudie dÀr fyra seende och en synskadad elev samverkar kring ett taktilt bildarbete. Undersökningen har fokus pÄ den sociala interaktionen mellan ungdomarna. Den metod som anvÀnts har frÀmst varit etnografinspirerad, dÀr jag dokumenterat med hjÀlp av filmkamera tre olika lektionstillfÀllen, nÀr eleverna gjorde en taktil bild av en kÀnd konstbild. Bearbetningen har skett via en induktiv analys dÀr mÄlet har varit att utgÄ frÄn mitt filmade material för att hitta vilka former av interaktioner som uppstÄtt under just det ögonblick kameran har fÄngat handlingarna mellan eleverna.Syftet har varit att fÄ en insikt i hur kunskaper om hur synskadade ska fÄ ökade tillgÄngar till bilden och bildÀmnet pÄ grundskolan. Den frÄgestÀllning som varit aktuell har fokuserat pÄ hur elever med synskada kan integreras i klassrumsundervisning i Àmnet Bild och vilken form av interaktion som uppstÄtt mellan eleverna.Eftersom Àven den pedagogiska rollen inbegripits beskrivs ocksÄ skolverkets riktlinjer för att hjÀlpa elever med synskada eller andra funktionella handikapp att nÄ mÄlen i kurs -och lÀroplaner.

Arbetet undersöker de synskadades och blindas uppfattningar om den offentliga miljön, samt belyser förutsÀttningar och konkreta utformningar som möjliggör de synskadades vistelse i offentligheten.  Arbetet behandlar tvÄ olika intressen som stÄr mot varandra; bevarandevÀrdet och de funktionshindrades möjligheter. Jag undersökte hur synskadade och blinda orienterar sig i offentliga miljöer och pÄ vilket sÀtt jag kunde applicera deras kunskap i ett trapphus pÄ Birger Jarlsgatan 20 i centrala Stockholm som Àr blÄmÀrkt. Genom teorier, intervjuer, observationer och sjÀlvrapporter kunde jag bilda en uppfattning om hur personer orienterar sig i offentlighet. EN HISTORISK LJUDVANDRING I SKĂVDE STAD : Metodik fo?r en akustisk gestaltning av ett historiskt ljudlandskap
Rapporten underso?ker en metod fo?r att gestalta en historisk ljudvandring genom Sko?vde stads ljudlandskap under 1700-talets andra ha?lft. Till underso?kningen sammansta?lldes en metodik da?r fundamenten var tankesa?tt och begrepp influerade fra?n tre tidigare forskningsdiscipliner. Baserat pa? metodiken framsta?lldes en prototyp av en ljudvandring genom Sko?vde stad, som synskadade och normalt seende informanter fick ta del av.
Hantering av digitalt designmaterial i kollaborativ miljö
A case study of professional interaction designers' usage of design materials was conducted. Five interviews were performed in order to gain insight in the systems used by designers, how these work, how they collaborate within them, and what they think of recent research about them. Design studios allow collaboration for several users at once. Digital material (mockups, pictures, etc.) are commonly used, but needs to be made analog, e.g. printed, to be usable in the design studio environment.

Design management Àr ett arbetssÀtt som har börjat tillÀmpas av allt fler företag de senaste Ären, men det kan fortfarande vara svÄrt att förstÄ betydelsen av design management. I uppsatsen undersöks det vilken betydelse en design managers kompetens och position har för samarbetet mellan det designköpande företaget och en designkonsult under ett designinköp. In our study, we investigated how the streamed TV domain relates to existing design principles for web design. Further, we have investigated whether there are specific characteristics of the domain that the design principles do not cover. In the survey we have studied two sites which are representative of the streamed TV domain. The final stage of a designers work is always a bit tricky. Design is an abstract phenomenon and no one can tell when a design is really finished. The design process that designers work within has been thoroughly studied but cannot be truly mapped with strict constraints which the designer can follow to succeed. I work on a lighting design for a dance performance to be on tour. A lighting design adapted for
three different conditions was made:
- One comprehensive where I allow myself a great deal of creative freedom, adapted for the
stages with major technical conditions.
- One smaller version for stages with less equipment and with less time for preparation on
site.
- One design for very simple conditions.

Synchronous Latency Insensitive Design in FPGA
A design methodology to mitigate timing problems due to long wire delays is proposed. The timing problems are taking care of at architecture level instead of layout level in this design method so that no change is needed when the whole design goes to backend design. Hence design iterations are avoided by using this design methodology. The proposed design method is based on STARI architecture, and a novel initialization mechanism is proposed in this paper. Low frequency global clock is used to synchronize the communication and PLLs are used to provide high frequency working clocks.
Activate Nyhamnen : a design proposal after Kongjian Yu's design approch
This thesis introduces Kongjian Yu?s design approach in terms of industrial heritage conservation in connection to transformation and urban design. The approach is examined respectively on two cases from China and USA. The thesis give a brief introduction to current achievement in conservation research and general profile of industrial conservation practice. Based on case and theory study, Yu?s design approach is carefully applied to an industrial area Nyhamnen in Malmö and a design proposal is produced.

Service Design is a relatively new, unexplored and exciting phenomenon that through an interdisciplinary work methodology designs services. A discussion has been going on for a long time regarding whether there is a difference between products and services. Services are often classified as immaterial, heterogeneous, non-storable and inseparable in relation to products. A question that arises is if something specific characterises the work methodology used regarding service design. The aim with this paper is thus to explain the work methodology when working with service design.

A current issue today is to try to implement creative design as a way to solve wicked problems in scientific contexts such as HCI. Since the problems are wicked, they have no given solution which makes the traditional methods inadequate. In these cases, creative design can be an alternative. Creative design is not used in scientific contexts because it is viewed as something unaccountable.In this essay we argue that creative design not necessarily have to be unaccounted. We discuss various views of creative design and translate theory to a practical context.
