Design Perception in Sweden and Turkey: A Comparison of Two Culturally Different Countries
The purpose of current paper is to identify the differences (ifany) between Swedish and Turkish consumers in terms ofproduct design perception and to identify the differences toproduct design in relating the four dimensions / characteristics:1.Aesthetical attractiveness, 2.Functionality, 3.Value and4.Quality.The findings of the study indicate the existence of a universal perception of design. Despite the culturally different countries that are examined the empirical material consistently display similarities between the two countries. Both the quantitative and qualitative data point to a very similar perception in terms of design. The possibilities of global design are discussed for companies as well as managerial implications and future research..
GrÀnsöverskridande Ljuddesign
Transcending sound design is possible. There are unseen possibilities and a great potential for improvement and development in sound and music design ? but there is a great difficulty penetrating the obstacles that lies in the way for such development to take place and to exist. The difficulties in being negotiable and productive lies more within the limits of the audience it has to gain, than in itself. It is as though music and sound design has to evolve very slowly, in an almost evolutionary style; one step at a time, to be accepted.

Denna rapport kommer att behandla processen i skapandet av RADA som Àr en applikation dÀr anvÀndare kan dela idéer. RADA Àr ett uppdrag av Acne Digital som jag har tillÀgnat 3 mÄnaders praktik. MÄlet med RADA Àr att medarbetarna som jobbar pÄ Acne Digital ska pÄ en snabbt och interaktivt sÀtt kunna dela idéer och bilder. Rapporten beskriver hur arbetet gick till frÄn koncept, design och utveckling till en fÀrdig slutprodukt. Jag kommer att undersöka skillnaderna mellan olika tillvÀgagÄngssÀtt nÀr det gÀller utveckling och design för webbaserade applikationer och sÄ kallade native applikationer, som slÀpps pÄ App Store eller Google play.

Responsive Web design : Ett fullvÀrdigt alternativ till plattformsspecifik utveckling?
I och med lanseringen av nya och mobila plattformar, sÄsom smarttelefoner och surfplattor, uppstÄr svÄrigheter med att anpassa webbsidor för samtliga typer av enheter. Tidigare har mobila applikationer (appar) och mobila sidor anvÀnts för att överkomma dessa problem. Responsive Web Design (RWD) Àr en ung designprincip som uppkom 2010 och har anammats av mÄnga webbutvecklare. Designprincipen medför att en webbsidas presentation förÀndras beroende pÄ skÀrmstorleken som anvÀnds för att visa sidan. I en studie har fem företag intervjuats för att fÄ deras tankar och Äsikter om RWD i jÀmförelse med utveckling av mobila sidor och appar.

This report describes how the process has evolved during the creation of a new web page forthe company Scandinavian Travel Agent DMC. The design methods that have been used aredescribed and also how parts of the webpage have been created by using the design methodresults. Our reflections around design and functionality are explained and how usability hasbeen our main focus during the master thesis. We also describe how it has been to work withan external costumer and how the tasks constantly have changed and been added as theprocess has continued.The background to this work is that AB Scandinavian Travel Agent DMC need to improve theircurrent web page. This thesis is about developing an intranet targeting a school and focus is aimed towards intranet usability.The reader is given knowledge into how to design and implement an intranet using persona. Design and develop by using persona is difficult when there is a group with large variety of knowledge, age and technology interest, so as in this case. Persona although always helps during the development phase because of the strong links to the personas that are created, which gives developers a constant reminder of the end users of the system.The thesis describes how information is collected and processed.
Utveckling av 300 kg HD Lightlift för belysning och liknande laster
The company LightLift Esystems AB manufactures patented motorized lift systems for the illumination of halls with high ceilings. The company wants a new design for singular heavy lights in order to be more competitive.This project consists of the development of the new design under the requirements and specifications imposed by the company. The new design must support lights up to 300kg and keep the overall dimensions as low as possible without modifying the driving unit.This document contains all the designing steps followed to reach the final solution as well as the material selection, manufacturing process and assembly of all the parts that form it.The solution obtained shows to be very competitive with other alternative products, since this new design triples their maximum load capacity while the dimensions are very similar.In this context, the optical appearance was also very important to the company and so it was another main objective of this project. From an aesthetical point of view, the final solution proves to be very compact and versatile since it can either be hidden behind a false ceiling or covered by a plastic case that gives the design a very nice look.Finally, the solution achieved fulfils all the requirements and specification previously imposed. It is reliable, compact, cheap to manufacture, easy to assembly and it has a good optical appearance. .

This Bachelor Thesis in the area of Computer Science and Work Science describes the process of design and development of an IT-tool between the municipality of Ron-neby and TietoEnator a development and consultancy firm, the Gothenburg office. The thesis focuses mainly on the cooperation between the consultant designer and the local municipal. Through cooperation, the organisation is incorporated into the tool and the tool is incorporated into the organisation. Concepts that are central in this thesis are design, cooperation and tailoring. A question raised is, if distance work and extensive cooperation might be a good way of working in the process of design and development, when the organisation is being incorporated into the tool.
Mobile first design vs. desktop first design : En jÀmförelse av en prototyp och en befintlig webbplats ur ett anvÀndbarhetsperspektiv
Detta examensarbete har haft till syfte att ÄskÄdliggöra eventuella skillnader och/eller likheter i den upplevda anvÀndbarheten vid anvÀndandet av en webbplats skapad via mobile first design och desktop first design. MÄlsÀttningen med examensarbetet har varit att ta fram en hifi-prototyp, skapad utifrÄn mobile first design, som visualiserade ett designförslag för flygfotoföretaget HimlaFotos startsida. JÀmförelsen har utgÄtt ifrÄn en egendefinierad version av begreppet anvÀndbarhet baserad pÄ ISO:s definition, dÀr anvÀndbarhet bestÄr av tre faktorer; kraftfullhet, effektivitet och tillfredstÀllelse. För att samla in data om den upplevda anvÀndbarheten har anvÀndartester genomförts. Flera likheter har identifierats gÀllande anvÀndbarhetsmÄtten kraftfullhet och effektivitet, medan skillnader har funnits vid mÄttet för tillfredstÀllelse.

This thesis describes a conceptual design of a support frame for a synchronousgenerator used in a vertical axis wind power plant. In this system the generator isplaced on ground level. The thesis also considers the design of housing for thesupport frame and generator. The concept presented in this report is based on anearlier design.
