From a social perspective, I have been working on how to change current consumption patterns through a change in people's behavior and attitude towards their possessions. The concept is based on how we can value, care for, and preserve our belongings by using theories in the empathic design field. I have created a structure that allows people to become an active part of a creative process and create their own products. Through this commitment, an emotional relationship is built between the user and the product, and the product tends to gain a longer life. Based on a method to manufacture your own yarn by reusing old clothes, I want to provide the basic tools for an easy and playful way to build the knowledge needed to produce something useful..

This degree project was intendet to construct and design packaging for beauty care. At the requestof AssiDomän Frövi the project group were instructed to innovate creative packagesmade of their cardboard Frövi Bright.Three different packages have been developed. Two of them are for child care products and onepackage is for several bath products. These results show that there are possibilities to create creativeand different packages of the cardboard Frövi Bright.The report also enters deeply into the special qualities of Frövi Bright and studies of packagingdesign..

AbstractOur purpose for making this study is to study the implementation, the use of and the effects of Lean within our case objects.  We chose to make this thesis by case studies. The three themes mentioned above is also the main research questions that we aim to find an answer to by this study. We have chosen to do a cross section analysis where we conducted structured interviews to find answers to these questions. The theoretical reference frame consists partly of traditional theoreticians within Lean but also more recent research within the subject as well as theory specifically for Lean within the Health Care sector.The result of this study shows in all our case studies that the Management has been supporting the implementation, but that the implementation process proceeds faster if also the professionals are involved in the process.  To succeed with the implementation there is a great need for good reasons and strives that can benefit the professionals. By the use of Lean our case studies have evaluated its processes, with the main intentions being to reduce waste activities and to create flows with ?pull systems?.

The aim of this study is to examine the investment decision process for investments that arise due to strategic changes and are of strategic importance to the company. At the foundation of this study is the previous research in this area, done by King (1975) and Bower (1970), which examines the investment process on a more generic level. At the core is the investment decision process pertaining to Projekt X, an investment performed by NordiCorp. Having conducted a case study including six interviews with employees from various parts of the organization, combined with a large number of internal documents, the process regarding the investment decision was carefully illuminated. The results show that in many regards, this process follows the more generic investment process.

Computer use at work has risen considerably over the past fifteen years and is currently a relatively common phenomenon when 76 percent of women and 72 percent of men using the computer in their daily work (SCB Arbetsmiljörapport 2009).According to Gulliksen and Göransson (2009), Sweden is one of the countries which are more advanced in the procurement of computer systems at work. He means that Sweden has unique opportunities and conditions for user participation in the development of computer systems, when the user has the right to influence their working environment through a law in the Work Environment Act. The paper examines the importance of user involvement in system development and the Swedish company's approach and experience of user involvement. To highlight and explore the importance of user involvement, there has been a case study in which users have been representative of the development process. The case study has been conducted on a case company where the system IST analys was in need of a new interface.

Uppsatsen handlar om mjölkförpackningar och dess design. En anledning till att vi valde just mjölkförpackningar beror på att det är en produkt som finns i de flesta hem. Vår frågeställning som ska besvaras är: Hur upplevs designen på mjölkförpackningar? Syftet med uppsatsen är att ta reda på hur konsumenter upplever olika mjölkförpackningar, svenska såväl som utländska, samt att ta reda på hur mejerierna och/eller de som designar förpackningarna tänker. Vi vill även hitta likheter och olikheter bland de svenska och utländska förpackningarna.

This essay investigates the relation between ?usage? and ?hearing? of dialectal words and expressions in the Ryukyu islands, Japan, in this case words and expressions from a mix of Ryukyuan and standard Japanese, so called uchinaa-yamatoguchi. A survey was conducted and in the questionnaires the respondents were asked to fill in the degree of usage and hearing of each word and expression, consisting of three alternatives each; use often, use seldom and never used - hear often, hear seldom and never heard.My findings show a stable pattern in the relation between usage and hearing, where the usage is relatively low compared to hearing in almost every case. Among the most frequently used ones, one could find words and expressions connected to food, festivals, type of person, adjectives, adverb and animals etc..

Det visuella uttrycket har länge varit viktigt inom grafisk formgivning eftersom det förmedlar så mycket mer än ögat ser. Ett varumärke representerar inte bara namnet på företaget utan också dess syfte och idé. Därför ska den visuella profilen utstrålar organisationens visioner på ett tydligt sätt och ge betraktaren en skön helhets upplevelse. Många gånger hjälper det att fräscha upp ett varumärkes visuella profil för att på så sätt kunna lansera företaget på nytt och i viss mån även öka dess konsumtion.Detta examensarbete redovisar för produktionen och designprocessen kring re-design av Sveriges Kommunikationsbyråers (Komm!) specialpris Titanpriset. Komm! tyckte Titanpriset behövde få en egen identitet och gav mig i uppgift att skapa detta.

Är det möjligt att arbeta med grafik från 1980-talet för att forma om och lansera på nytt? Kan man komma bort ifrån klyschor och retro stil för att visa upp en modern syn på 1980-talets stil som går att använda i dag? Design finns överallt runt omkring oss, det är en del av våra liv och en beståndsdel som ständigt ändras av medias rörliga plattform. Den ständiga förändring som design för med sig blir många gånger ifrågasatt och diskuterad inom mediebranschen. Ofta kommer rätt och fel upp som begrepp inom design om vad som fungerar eller inte, begrepp som jag i mitt arbete lyfter fram och arbetar kring. Genom olika manipulationer och arbete med digital grafik, som pålägg av texturer och färg/form på fotografier, visar mitt arbete en bildserie som är skapad med färg och form från 1980-talet.

This thesis work contains a litterature study about electrical motors in general and how PWM-patterns for brushless DC-motors can be made. A suitable method has been implemented as a simulation model in VHDL. A simulation model of a brushless DC-motor which describes the phasecurrents, torque and angular velocity has also been made. The motor model made simulations easier for the complete PWM-system. The design was synthesised and tested with a prototypeboard including a SPARTAN II FPGA.

Operatörerna på kundtjänst arbetar med att ta emot samtal från Telekombolagets kunder, hjälpa dem med att lösa problem och ge tips och råd. En viktig del av arbetet är att operatörerna gör en analys av kunden för att kunna ge bästa möjliga råd. Rapporten behandlar hur en del av ett textbaserat program kan omarbetas till en grafisk applikation. Etnografiska metoder, i form av observationsstudier och intervjuer, och designtekniker, i form av mockup- och prototypmöten, har använts tillsammans med användarna av programmet.

Orsaken till detta är att ny teknik medför andra krav på produkter än att produkter som sådana ska vara lätthanterliga. Produkten kan likväl ha som syfte att vara rolig att använda sig av.Studiens syfte var att studera användarupplevelser beträffande Surface-computing teknologi.Företaget Interactive Institutes innovativa Surface-computing produkt Virtual Autopsy Table fick exemplifiera Surface-computing teknologi i publika miljöer. Genom att använda denna uppmärksammade produkt som underlag är syftet att undersöka vilka designmoment som kan anses vara kritiska för upplevelsebaserad design. Studiens frågeställning blev:Vilka riktlinjer kan tas fram för att vägleda en designprocess att bli mer fokuserad påanvändarupplevelser vad gäller Surface-computing system?Med utgångspunkt från studiens datamaterial, så var en del av studiens syfte att ta fram riktlinjer.

I detta examensarbete utvecklas ett solcellsstativ i trämaterial. Ett idékoncept fanns somgrund för hur stativet skulle kunna utformas. Detta har vidareutvecklats, till färdigt systemanpassat för tillverkning.Resultatet blev ett fackverksstativ i trä bestående av vinklade halva oktaeder i rad.Trädetaljerna binds samman med knutpunkter i formsprutad plast, som med klämkraft hållerfast trädetaljerna. Knutpunkterna är konstruerade för att minimera åverkan på träet samtmotverka röta.Systemet är verifierat både genom beräkning, simulering och jämförelse med liknandekonstruktioner. Materilavalet är gjort med systematik enligt Ashby, Material Selection inMechanical Design.
